I've had my YBR 250 for about a year now. Have had a few Yamaha over the years. Including: 86' SRX 600 (a donkey when it comes to kick-starting, but a really fun bike to ride), 82' XS 400 (old reliable....rode it for 10 years....5 days a week...rain or shine...not a single hiccup)

Hey fellas, I'll start by saying I've had a lot of bikes of bikes over the years, mostly all off road bikes. Some of those include 98 Honda Cr125, 93 Yamaha YZ125, 81 Honda ATC70, 85 Honda ATC185s, 85 Honda 250 big red, 85 Kawasaki KXT250 Tecate, 69 Norton Commando 750, and my newest 80 Yamaha sr250. As you can see I have a thing for trikes, never got my hands on a tri-z though...I currently only have the Tecate(my baby) and the sr250. Growing up on Long Island I spent a lot of time riding off road, I have pretty strong mechanical skills and I consider myself to be really good with electrical work, so I hope I can be helpful to the forum. Anyway, I just picked up this…

Hi all. I am new to bikes, so can anybody tell me what the rubber hose connecting the engine to the exhaust is actually there for. I have been told that if I want my bike to make noise I can take that hose off because it will do no damage if it is not connected.

Hi new member to this forum and bikes.. the crazy thing is i found a cheap 1992 XJ600 Seca II, which i think i will try and get running. The bike is complete and rolling as 1 though requires a little bit of work (well from what the seller said). I brought the bike and silly me did not hear it running (yes now i know that could be a bad thing) as the seller did not have a battery but did say it had a stater issue. The rest of the bike is there so i thought great fix that clean up the bike get my licence for the bike and ride, once comfortable clean it up and make it a better bike... So here i am.. looking forward of learning how to get this bike fixed.. 1st job is to g…

Just joined. My first love is my XJR1300 (1999) which I bought as a bit of a shed about 4 years ago. I stripped it right down and restored it to original condition. I like standard!!! She is sitting with 57k on the clock now but still runs lovely and I can not bring myself to move it on. Its probably looking like a keeper. Just bought a FZS600 Fazer W reg but looks like a year 2000 model and its an import. Its been sitting unloved and unused outside for a couple of year after it shed its chain. Collecting bits and pieces together at the moment to get it on the road. Intention was to use it as a hack or rat during winter and general usage and save the XJR for sunny days!!…

Just wanna say hi to everyone as I've just joined this site after purchasing a 1992 Yamaha Diversion XJ600 after passing my motorbike test only last month and having a quick seat on my work mates Diversion and found out it was a comfortable riding position. So now I've got my bike, I'm just in the process of chaining the chain and sprockets, putting some auxiliary power sockets, some heated grips, the power lead to my battery opitimiser and heated gloves and vest. I wanna get the bike in a touring mode as in November a mate and myself are off to Birmingham NEC for the motorbike live show and if that goes well then off to he south of France next year.

  20. Recently came across a 1975 mx 175. It has been stored in a garage and has not been started for 15 years. Overall condition is pretty good. I'm going through cleaning and poking around and have ordered a manual and a new air filter (as the old one disintegrated upon removal). Fuel tank was empty and in excellent condition. Oils will be drained and filled with fresh stock. Would greatly appreciate any input as to what else needs to be done prior to start up. I have just enough mechanical ability to be dangerous, and look forward to spending time on this new project. look forward to your replies. Cheers Tom
