Hi, I'm Dave, but I use the name Morseman because, in another hobby, I use Morse Code a lot. I've just bought my first Yamaha. It's a V reg XVS650 Drag Star. However, it is a trike, not a bike. I did do a search before posting this fact just to make sure that trikes were welcome on the forums. ;-) Not having ever passed the bike test, it was the only way, other than going through all the hoops to get a full bike licence, that I could ride. I have had a full car licence since I was 17, way back in 1979. I'm going to get my CBT and I might decide to carry on to a full bike licence, I'll see how I go with a two wheeled machine. I'll pos…

Hi all, middle aged English guy here. I keep an old SR125 in Cyprus for cheap sunny winter holidays and it's great for exploring on and off road. The trails here are fantastic and when I've gained some more experience I'll probably get a small Yamaha dirt bike, but for now the SR is so much fun! Typical Cyprus mods include holes drilled in back end of exhaust for heroic sounds and a 16 tooth front sprocket for a bit more top speed. Just changed chain and sprockets back to original spec to get lower 1st gear for steep gravelly hills. And I filled the exhaust holes because I was shaking the plaster off old houses as I rode past! Hi everyone! I'm Dylan, a mech eng student from Birmingham, UK. Started off with an SR125 when I was 18 and have been tinkering ever since. I'm 24 soon and looking forward to getting my full license sorted. Working on a DT125LC at the moment and decided I'd jump on here where the pro's linger for when the going gets tough! Anyway just a brief hi really, good to get started! [Edit] - added a picture of myself working on the DT in my mums dining room. She was most impressed!

Hi Folks. New member. Just been given a 1978 xs400E which I am going to attempt to restore. Quite a project as it has been standing outside, unused for about 15-20 years. I'll have lots of questions and hope I won't annoy everybody.. Strange thing is it doesn't seem to match the published spec even though the previous owner bought it from new in America. The spec says front disk brake, this is drum. Spec says electric start this isn't. Never had a proper middle stand just a side stand. Pictures show two exausts but this one goes into one. Tried finding out about it through the VIN but mine is a very short VIN not the 17 now used. Can anyone shed any light on these 'odditi…

Hello, Following a change at work our car parking has been taken away so I am due to do my CBT on Friday. I have never ridden before (apart from a 1hr taster) and was brought up on the whole bikes are bad by my parents. While I'm fairly apprehensive I'm also a little bit excited! I am looking at purchasing a 2nd hand YBR 125 as it will hopefully hold some value if / when I do my DAS and I look to trade it in. I know very little about bikes though so I was hoping to get some handy hints / advice on things I should look for? The bike I have my eye on is a 2009 model with 4400 miles on the clock, advertised at £1695. It is advertised by a localish …

Hello everyone. So I had tires for my R3 delivered yesterday from Canada Post. My usual friendly delivery man noticed the tires and asked me if I rode. I told him I had an R3. He mentioned he had an R1 and told me to sign up here so here I am! I've had my R3 for about a year now. Talk to everyone soon. Cheers! Mason
