Hello everyone, I thought I'd pop a post here as my original joining post was in the Cutoms section. As of the end of February I am now the proud owner of a BEAUTIFUL XVS 1100 Custom. It's been a while since I last owned a bike (10 years, and even longer since my last Yamaha, a Diversion!) as where I've been living had nowhere to store one safely, but now I've moved and have a garage I thought it only right I fill it with things that bring me joy. It'll also give my Dad someone else to go out with, as he's just bought a Valkyrie. The XVS at the moment has a bit too much bling for my liking so I'm planning on customising it slightly. I'll be post…

Morning all, just joined the forum, had my TDM for about 3 weeks now and loving it. Part ex'd my Triumph Bonny America as she was getting unreliable, and as much as I'd spent on her, she still needed more, I need the reliability as I use it every day for work so I ended up with the Yammy, hoping she'll see me through for a good while now !?!? Have fun Lem

Just a quick note to say hi and introduce myself - I'm Gabriel and I've just joined. I've wanted to get a bike for many years but only now am I in a financial position to get on two wheels. I've only been riding for a couple of months now and have yet to take my full bike licence here in the UK (I just hold my CBT) If anyone has tips on improving my riding skills and getting the most out of life in the saddle whist staying safe I'd really appreciate hearing them.

Hello, I'm Len Doyle. 60 years old and buying my first Yamaha after 40 odd years of mostly Brits and Hondas. I've been attracted into a project XTZ660 from 1992. It will need some attention, but should be nice fairly quickly, if I can find the parts. Anyone know a stockist for plastic body bits? Front mudguard, radiator cowls etc. Is there a specialist breaker out there? Len

Hi all I have today purchased a dragstar 1100. After an awful ride home ( weather and bike problems) I am still excited and hasty with the purchase. I think a home service and carb clean and check we should be running smoothly! (Well that's what I am hoping!) This is my first cruiser type bike and even with all the problems on the journey home there were moments where I could see what the draw is. Comfortable and easy going. I think my sports bike days are well and truly behind me now.

Hi chaps, I've got round to stripping down the xt which has been left outside for many years. The main bigger was getting the swing arm out, what started as an hours job ended up being a three hour job attacking it with a grinder... But it came out. The header pipe has rotted out and stuck in the cylinder head, next challenge!, I have sent off the frame and parts off for shot blasting and painting then the collection and sourcing of new parts begins

I have recently had the privilege of adopting two old very tired Yam DT50MX bikes, they have been very battered offroad at an activity centre and neither run at all, I wouldn't usually bother with such a low cc venture but their retro appearance and sturdy build inspire me to offer them some loving care! I decided simply getting them running wasn't enough so I have brought a very cheap complete 1987 DT50MX last MOT'd in 2012 and I am using parts off the old bikes to get it up to scratch ready for another MOT. If you have any experience of these bikes to offer me advice I will gladly receive it or you need any spares I now have plenty. …

Hello Just joined, recently bought a 1981 DT175 MX to restore and I'm looking for a few bits, in particular a complete wiring loom. I've searched other sites, Yam Bits, ebay etc with no luck. Does anyone have a contact that can supply a new wiring loom, failing that does anyone have a second hand loom from a DT MX cHRIS

Morning all, Passed my unrestricted A licence just before Christmas 2015 and I'm now the owner of a pampered, shiny 1999 XVS650A. I have a nice pic taken at Loomies after he's had a clean and an ACF50 treatment!) I have bought a few extras already such as F8430 saddlebags (not sure if they'll fit but I'll sell them on if not) and footboards with the brackets (not going to fit those in a hurry as I'm still getting used to the new riding position). I've picked up a few useful tips from the forum already so I'll read on! Cath

Thanks for letting me join your group! I am looking forward to sharing your collective wisdom, and hopefully bringing something to the group! I have around 50 motorcycles, primarily vintage enduros and motocross bikes. I used to race Suzuki TM125s/250s/400s back in the day, and I imagine I am trying to recreate my childhood. (No one has ever done that, right?) Anyway, I've been specializing in Yamaha DTs and RTs lately, but just picked up a Yamaha 125 YAS1C, and know NOTHING about them. I didn't even like them until I saw this one. I have all kinds of ideas running around in my head about what to do with it, but it is so insanely complete, anything short of a full rest…

Morning. Saying Hi more than anything. Im Joe. the main reason im here is for my other half who has just brought her first bike, and im trying to get the lowdown on what the bike is like and where the best place to get spares and bits and bobs. It is a little tatty and needs some work. New front mudguard, left hand fairing, and a few other bits. YZF600R Thundercat. It has done a few miles 40K but as its her first bike I don't think that's too much of a worry. Any pointers and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
