Hi all. I used to own a few yamahas when I was younger but now own a very well looked after yzf400 1999 model. I got her quite cheap as the fella who sold was in tight situation so he had to let her go ! He was in the process of making it road legal but the task now falls upon me... There is a lighting kit semi fitted and real nice tagasako excel supermoto rims in black with gold talon hubs (which look amazing btw). I have looked on a few forums of how to make her road legal and keep seeing about applying to the manufacturers about a "certificate of newness" but I have no idea how to apply for it through yamahas site. Could anyone please offer some advice or point me in t…

Alright, my name is Guilherme Terceiro, I'm from Brazil and few days ago I received a strange kind of XV 535 VIRAGO. Here in Brazil, Yamaha starts to import bikes on 1994, but my crazy uncle, he imported one by himself, he always said that was a USA 1992 importation. Now he dies, and give the bike to me. Holy God, this bike is a canon on the roads as a Cat in the town. This XV535 (Virago) Don't have a fuel tank on top, just a cover for the air filter... But, I'm trying to look any kind like this, and i think don't exist. Later I'll send a picture for you!! And thanks a lot, to create and keep a forum like this online!!!

Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum great to see so much help and advice available here. I used to have a Honda Shadow VT750S but decided to upgrade to Yamaha XV950R 3 weeks ago. I am glad I did as it is an awesome bike a real head turner. On the road it is very comfortable, I live in London and my travel is around central London area and so far I have found it very easy to filter and control. I would be intrested to know how many of XV950 owners are here as I haven't seen many on the road .. well to be honest I haven't seen any

Hello, I'm new to the Yamaha brand, and I'd like to introduce myself. I've owned 3 Honda's, 2 Harley's, 1 BMW, and I recently traded a Triumph T-100 for a new Yamaha SXR900. I've loved all of my bikes, but I must say the SXR is the most powerful and very fun indeed. Here it is from a couple months ago: I've since installed an Akropovic Carbon exhaust, CRG bar end mirrors, and some smaller turn indicators.

  13. Hello all and any who take the time to read this. This will be my first summer riding. Im really excited and slightly nervous. Ive talked a great deal about riding with my roomate and he has both glorified and demonized the hobby. I didnt let the cons scare me off however, and I recently bought a project bike. Said bike is a 1983 Yamaha XV750 Virago Midnight Special, 1 of 2300(I believe made that year, and the last year they were made in the 750cc range). I didnt want to buy a little bike and get sick of it 3 months later as I have read many do so frequently. So I chose a size that best fits my body type and something I will be able to enjoy (once it runs of course) for s…

Hi guys, thought I'd say hi and ask a few questions about my bike. As I have recently turned 16, I have just bought a 1987 DT50MX for my first bike. It came with a big bore 60cc kit, performance air filter, derestricted exhaust (soon to be replaced with full giannelli system) and I believe the previous owner installed new jets in the carb but I'm not too sure. I plan to add a smaller rear sprocket and perhaps an airsal 70cc kit in future depending on how much spare time I have. A frame respray is also something I'm considering as it seems to have had a couple of dodgy touch ups in the past and there is some surface rust scattered around. I also have a new exhaust…

Hi all,new biker! Rescued a friends bike, needs a lot of t.l.c. Most things I will attempt myself e.g rear master cylinder but the missing speedo may prove a problem. Are they easy to come by and install? Seems a nice bike but don't want to spend too much all at once. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
