hi, i have a yamaha 550XT dual sport. Its an 82 but only has 5k on it. The other day i was driving on the interstate and i got a little to happy with the throttle i guess. I was going at a speed the bike was not so comfortable with. Anyhow, i began to feel gas leaking on my legs. I exited and quickly pulled off. The fuel line that goes into the carbs had blown off. The bike turned off once i stoped, i believe because it was flooding the carbs. So i put the fuel line back onto nipple leading into the carbs. But now when i turn the gas on a lot of fuel comes out of the fuel emission tube,(you know the tube that…

Hello Any one done any performance mods to a 2006 Yamaha xt250 I read an article somewhere where they removed the puny exhaust tip - but ours seems to be welded in - must be for compliance purposes. Anyway interested in seeing if these little bikes can be improved. M

I've just bought a 2001 Yz 250 and it runs like a dream - when i can start it!!! I've heard with the four strokes you need to have the piston at top dead centre, is it the same with the two strokes? if so, how do i tell when it's at top dead centre? Please help, it's driving me crazy!!!

Question: My throttle has started sticking when its cold. Often sticky in the morning when I leave for work but fine by the afternoon when its warmer and I ride home. The bike is brand new (XT250) Has this happened to anyone else? What causes this and how do I fix it? Any feedback will be appreciated

Anyone know how many miles you can get out of a full tank of fuel? I've got a 2001 Yz250. I'm planning a long ride with a couple of mates and i don't want to run out of fuel and have to push my bike all the way home!!! I've just bought the bike so i haven't got a clue how far i can go! Cheers.

HI all, Just got a 1984 DT50 and went out for the first time on it today ! Started fine and have been starting everyday to keep battery charged - have noticed no problems! But today after going roughly 1 mile from my house and giving it a blast down my road its has started spluttering and whistling - when cranked to full revs it is not a ''one tone'' from the engine, its like im revving it on and off!! Also as soon as I let of the throttle is cuts out - there is also a oily liquid in the exhaust leaking out very slightly ?? CAN ANYONE HELP thanks <>Chris

Hi All, I just joined the group. I have 1984 DT200L that I bought last summer and am just getting to the bike now. The problem I have is sometimes it starts and most of the time it does not. When I bought it, it did not run. I cleaned the carb as best as I could. I put a new battery in and when I turned the key on, you could hear the servomotor for YPVS working, It no longer sounds when I turn the key on. The bike would start, and run for 5 or 10 minutes, then die, usually far enough away from home base to make for a long hot push. I have spark, and I have fuel at the spark plug as it is wet. hello there. i was givin a 1983 DT 125 engine and the whole wiring harness. the engine ran perfect the day it was taken out of the frame. now that it is out and ready to go in my go-kart i need to know what wirering is needed to be hooked up to get spark. i have the key and kill switch hooked up but it doesnt get any spark. today all of a sudden it got spark once for some reason but now it doesnt have any. if anyone can help me out that would be very helpfull.

MK3 DT (tzr top end though!?) had it for years, most fun bike I have ever ridden but sadly its off the road. It wont start and its not mechanical because The engine was rebuilt about 500 miles before it came off the road. When it was running it would sometimes start to 8 stroke, so I guess this is related to my new problem. Most people tell me its the stater but the wiring loom is FUBAR so I cant really test this. Anyone kjnow a good wiring diagram or had any similar problems? Any help would be great.

i have really bad vibration to the point where i can't drive it and the other day i took it out and the vibration stopped but now it's back again any one have any ideas?
