After looking for a while for a 6v headlight for my old DT's - I found that the NAPA store at the corner sells them. #4020 is the common number - NAPA's number is - LMP4020 - list price is @ $29.00. My local store sold me 2 for $43.00! My Yam dealer wanted $73.00 for one.

Got a 1975 yamaha dt175B running rough, need some info on how to adjust the carburator' floats. need to know if bending into the bowl= rich or lean? the measurement would help (how do u measure?) thanx! I can get it started idles for a few seconds then it pop's, then when i try to start it it pop's. to rich to lean ? help? the screw doesn't help im sure its the floats. thanx

Hi Im thinking about buying a 100cc engine to replace my seized 50cc engine but need some advice on what i have to change, i want some advice before i buy one so if i do and it fails then it would be a waste of money. ADVICE:: Do i need to change electrics? i.e. Wiring loom, starter relay, HT lead, Voltage regulator & CDI unit. Do i have to change the suspension? i.e. Back Shock, Front Forks And anything else... hey looking for some idea as to what he cause of the engine problem on my bike is . heres her story i bought her off ebay , stripeed her down like u do , to refurbish her , as i had her sitting about for a few month before i was 16 . ran perfectly afterwards up and down the tracks , when i got her on the road it was winter but i still had 3 onths of bliss . then trouble started. i first had to replace the fuel filter as fuel was leaking from the old one she had another tap put on the petrol tank too , we cleaned the carb after the first time she droppped revs and this seemed to solve the problem however riding her home a month ago in the puring ra…

Hi all again, Ive been having a fiddle today trying to clear up my excessively smoking engine and got confused with as to whether my choke was on or off. Can somebody tell me when i lift my choke lever up is this on or off on a 2005 dt125.And if possible how many turns roughly from bottom should the mixture screw be at. Thanks in advance. Carl

Howdy after a google search in hope of finding out more information on DT 125's I came across this club figured I'd sign up, looks to be a cool place to pick up knowledge. Bought an 07 DT125X at the weekend it's being delivered on Thursday whoop! I'm not sure whether I've paid over the odds or not at £2795, not really bothered tbh lol. my xt125x ignition barrel is completely nakered, and have to use a screwdriver to turn on the ignition, all the front casing is missing, so if anyone could give me a link perhaps to an online shop/store so i could buy a new barrel and a set of keys, that would be grate, thanks in advance

The new XT660RandX have poor fuelling at low throttle openings. Yamaha have a "fix" for this. Owners who are concerned should go to their dealer. Ask him to contact Yamaha, who will give the dealer details of the fix. It works very well! My bike runs a lot better.

I made sure everything was connected (kill switch, cdi coil ) and still no spark. i hooked a battery up to the red power wire on the CDI and when i did the voltage at the wire going to the coil slowly climes from 0 to about 7.v at about a rate of .01 volts at a time then when it hits 7 volts it drops right back down to about .5 then slowly starts climbing again??? i have no idea whats going . how can i test if the coil is faulty? what should i do!

okay, my bike is a XT125X, i bought it yesterday and running fine, however, this morning i turned the key and nothing, none of the dash would light up, the neutral light wont light up, all it says is MPH on the dash, which does that anyway, also last night when it was running fine, the battery was showing 1 bar of life left, thats why it wouldnt electric start up, ive tried bumping it, and have tried kicking it up, still nothing, it might be an over night solution, becasue when i went to look at the bike it wouldnt run, but the next day kicked up first time, if anyone can shine some light on this problem it would be much apprecieated, thanks in advance.

I have a 1979 frame from a Yamaha. It has a frame number of 2J2-021010 with a date of 1979. I believe the frame is from a 500, but not sure. Thought looking up a frame number would be easy, but can not find any assistance. Does anyone know where to find this information on a vintage Yamaha frame?

Hi ive just started my rebuild of my XT350 i recoverd from the scum who stole it. Its fully stripped down to frame and running gear. Im painting up my frame and have stripped the forks of the black household paint that was used to disguise the bike. looking to make it into a special, the frame has had the rear lugs chopped off that take rear foot pegs. planning to cut shape and recover the seat. The look is a mat/satin black mixed with shiney bits ....an old crosser with modern parts fitted. Dose anyone have an old dr, dt 125 or simalair headlight. ? i have a 1978 DT400 i just picked up , wiring is all messed. i got a wiring diargram from a fellow member but im stumped, im not going to use any lights or anything, so what are the basic things that need to be hooked up for it to run without a battery? or run at all for that matter.
