I was debating whether or not to post this as it is embarrassing, but I thought fuck it. Since getting my bike I have fucked up a few times. I have dropped it twice, luckily no major damage was done. The worst thing I did happened the other day. I called into a Tesco to get a much and when I come out I saw a guy who I hadn't seen for ages. I got talking to him and then he went into Tesco. Anyway I started my bike and set off but, I had only set off with the fucking chain and lock around the back wheel. My heart sank when I had realised what I had done, but my initial thoughts were that no one had seen me because I felt a cunt. I took the chain off and the there was a clic…

hello im looking at some decent tyres for some enduro, i currently have a pair of Heidenau tyres on that are rated as enduro, the rear is a cats paw and cost me £75 which isnt too bad and the front is not a cats paw tread and the grip is terrible to a point i wont go green laining while i have that tyre on. ive decided to get rid of them both in favour of some tyres more geared towards offroading there are a few different kinds ive been looking at but i do like the look of the continental tkc80's. can anyone shine some light in the quality for green laining in damp conditions, going to drop £140 on these 2 tyres and i want to know if there any good. any other …

I finnaly got the right Alan key to undo the power valve pulley cover on my dtr 125 , I found that the wires had been disconnected and wedged open. Then while trying to find a better position too hook it up to , and testing it out to see how I would like to set it up, I ran out of petrol, didn't take it off reserve prrevious day as didn't really fill it up much. I then wheeled it to petrol station without putting the cover back on for the pulley, and the screw must of came lose to the pulley think I may have fitted the wrong screw earlier as was getting dark I rushed. I now have no pulley and the power valve closes even if I find the open.spot by turning the "diamond" by …

Hello to all, I just got given to me,a 1988 dt175 in pretty good shape. Has a leaking gear selector shaft seal but that's about it,easy fix but I'm trying to find a workshop manual incase I want to do more work or to help others out, more importantly for settings and specs. Their are listings for 68 to 73 and 77 to 83 on ebay, can't seem to find anything else for the later models or any cd manuals, the mechanic reckons they haven't really changed much apart from a few little things but still need a manual for reference.don't know if I should bother with the dealer (cant mention why) but yeah need some help on this one. Any help will be appreciated

In the next week or two I am going to start making preperations to get my full licence. Initially I was going to buy a 125 2T but realised I would soon get bored of it after a few months. Once I have passed my test I want to get a WR 450. I don't want to get a big bike staright away as I am only used to my 125 4T, which is very slow. Does anyone have WR and are they good bikes, or what other bikes should I consider? I want a trail sort of bike because it will be getting used every day and they are better suited for my commuting needs.

Finally got down to the nitty gritty today and decided it was time to pull out my Yamaha and restore it to its former glory; but there is always a hiccup! It has been sitting since late 2006 and to my surprise wasn't in too bad a condition. Though It still wouldn't start. I tried all off the following; - Cleaned the spark arrester. - Cleaned & Lubed the Air filter. - Stripped and Cleaned the Carb. - Cleaned & Lubed the Chain. - Replaced the oil with Yamalube Full Synthetic. - Replaced the Fuel tank with Unleaded. - Charged and checked the charge of the battery which is ok. The electric start is working it turns over the engine, fuel sits in the…

Hi guys, I've recently bought a 2002 DT 125 traily its done around 18k and is in great condition having been garaged by the last owner since 2007. it seems to have developed a issue that doesn't always happen all the time, It starts very easily and takes revs well once warmed up and pulls cleanly all the way up through the power band but. every now and then it seems to just cut out like the spark plug cap is off (instant). no warning no funny sounds or anything just a drop off in power, only used the bike 3 times off road and its done it twice, both times after about an hour or so and it wont re start until the engine is cold again, tried both a standard and iridium pl…

Hi, can anybody tell me if it's ok ( and if it is what is the best way ) to change the 2 stroke oil in my DT. I don't know what oil it is using at the moment but I bought a good quality oil and would feel better using it. Thanks for all the replies to my previous post about the bike stalling, it just past mot at dealers they checked the bike but couldn't find anything wrong with it. Since having it back it seems to idle a bit quicker but no problems when putting it in gear. Thanks.

I have seen a WRF advertised fairly locally. However the bike was stolen from the owner who then recovered it fairly shortly after but the vin number had been ground out of the frame, but engine number is still in tact. the person has the crime number to prove this is the case. what i would really love to know is do i have any chance of getting an MOT on this, as tax and MOT have ran out. also might there be any complications with getting insurance on it and also for them to pay out in the event of an accident? any advise or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys, i've just joined here after recently buying a dt125r (1998) and was wondering if the dt 200 cylinder and head assembly would bolt straight on the 125 crank cases, has anyone done this before and would it be possible to use the standard 125 conrod with the 200 cylinder and piston. Cheers in advance. Dan

new A2 license = Medium motorcycles up to 35 kW (and a power-to-weight ratio not more than 0.2 kW per kg), bike mustn’t be derived from vehicle more than twice its power. Any ideas what off road bikes fall into this category now then? i have been looking around and it would appear they have really done us over on this one, almost none of the bigger engine MX bikes even come close to meeting these lets say 'very specific' power and power to weight ratio's (mainly the power to weight being an issue). Also it would seem that in order to restrict a bike down to these is going to have to be a dyno job as the only kits i can find are for 33 BHP and with some of these …

Hello Everybody There is a problem in my DT50 and I think it is quite serious because it is an oil problem that can cause damage if left untreated. I feel that the engine is pulling extra oil. The symptom started when one day I was repairing the indicator lights. I started the engine and left it for about 20 minutes while accelerating from time to time because the battery was dead. However, after a while, the engine stopped unexpectedly, making a suffocating sound. I thought that the engine suffocated from too much fuel and acceleration. I tried to kick start several times but in vain. I managed to start the engine by making someone push the bike and after 4 or 5 …

I was having a problem with the xt it was stumbling hard to start and I had to run with the choke on. I changed the intake boots and it seemed to run fine with just a little stumbling when the throttle was in the neutral area, not on not off. The bike has sat for about 2 months. I took it out yesterday and she fired right up. Even with the choke on she really didn't want to take fuel. Once that got worked through she wouldn't run without the choke on full. Also the horn won't work. The throttle responce is jerkey and if I take the choke off she will stall. I havnt delved into it as of yet but I am thinking low battery, maybe a mouse nest in the air cleaner or the …
