I just bought a 96 YZF600. It's basically a frame and a motor. I am wondering where I can get aftermarket parts for this bike. Including Front Calipers, Front Brake Pads, Rear Brake Pads, Fork Seals, Chain & Sprockets, All the fairings are missing and I was wondering what year fairings I can put on this bike instead of the older ones, there so ugly. I will be updating this parts list later on tonight after I have inspected the cycle more and pulled it apart more. Anybodys help will be greatly appreciated as this is my first cycle I have owend or worked on. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone.. I have a 96 Thundercat, the silver and yellow one. I'm not too keen on the yellow and would like to change the colour. The front mud guard is not such a problem as i can just replace this with a black one. I have noticed that the yellow on the lower fairing and side panels seem to be declals rather than painted on. Does any one know if and how to remove these. If any one has already done this can you let me know if the fairing is painted underneath. Failing this can anyone direct me to anywhere who supplies replacement decals to put over the top... Cheers, Richard

Alright Folks ! I am after a bit of advice on tyres. I have a Yamaha FZ6 Fazer S2 ABS with the following wheel sizes : Front - 120/70/17 Rear - 180/55/17 The tyres that came on it are Dunlop Sportmax D252 & D252F.........Are these tyres any good for all round weather / commuting etc. or is there something better that you guys/gals would recommend. I have been told that Michelin Road Pilot 2's are meant to be good but thought I would get the opinion of yourselves. I am basically after something for commuting in all weathers (not so much of the ice and snow though), so need something that is good in wet and dry. Also, do you know of any online shops …

Hey guys, just wondering if you could help me please? I have an 06 plate R6 (2005 model) and have just bought an Akrapovic slip on exhaust for it. I got it brand new for a really good price but it doesnt include instructions. I'm not at home at the moment so cant go and see the bike to try and make sense of it. I have fitted exhausts and things to cars before so quite good at the DIY. Firstly, can anyone tell me how the standard can comes off? which tools do i need? and secondly how does the akrapovic can fit? From what i can see i have the actual can, a link pipe, 3 springs and something which looks a bit like a jubilee clip. Is it worth going out and getting som…

  10. I have a 2007 FZ6 S2 and am having problems trying to find a waterproof breathable cover for my bike. I had an Oxford Stormex Large cover which fit before I put the top box carrier on, but now of course, won't fit. It has added approx. 1ft in length to the bike. Also just bought an Oxford Rainex Large cover but unfortunately it's not tall enough though was almost long enough. Please can anyone recommend me a good quality, waterproof, breathable cover that you think may fit my bike WITH the carrier. Quite desperate as I haven't been able to use the top box because I can't find cover to fit! Also please bear in mind that the bike has high mirrors and screen. Any advice grea…

Someone must have come up against this before. Tried putting my FZ1-N onto my Micron paddock stand for the first time yesterday to oil the chain only to find the bike very unstable. Looking at it this seems to be because the swinging arm is straight at the left side but curves up at the right side. Does anyone know of a solution for this-Cheers, Kev.

I bought this bike recently and it doesn't have the front fairing or windshield and I've been searching around trying to find something only to no avail... mostly either expensive or discontinued Or if I could convert it to an XJ600N that would be fine too, but I can't seem to locate the bits for that either.

I've been trying to choose new pairs of front and rear indicators for my 07 R6. I've been doing research into the available options for weeks now (there are so many) and I'm getting closer to deciding which way I want to go. I was initially thinking of getting a tail tidy without indicator mounts and then getting an all-in-one rear light (the new tail light encompasses multi colour led's that act as the red tail light, brake light and orange indicators) and a pair of flush fitting clear front LED indicators. I'd still like to go down this route but the light's not road legal and I am concerned that the Police will be stopping me and fining me every opportunity th…

Hi all, As the weather was good today I thought I would have my first ride out of the year, turned out it could be the most expensive one of the year!! I was riding along minding my own at about 40mph when I hit a deepi-sh pothole in the road, luckly it did not throw me off just heard a lound bang (and felt it) I thought to myself the front tyre had gone but I seemed to slow down ok with no wheel wobble. Inspecting the front wheel all looked ok but I could hear air rushing out of somewhere, it was the rear wheel!! It has put a large dent in the rim where the air was escaping from:angry: Just about managed to get home (5mls) before it went totally flat on me. …

I am 6' tall and 235 and have been riding for many years and wondering if the 600 class sportbikes have enough go for a guy my size? Will the weating take a guy my size comfortably? I own a cruiser and have been on one cbr1000 many years ago. A lot of things change in a few years with new technology. Don't know yet if this year brings a new sportbike to the garage or not?

First of all I would like to say hi to everyone as I'm new here and also new to biking! This Yamaha XT125X is my first bike. Firstly I would like to ask, what people think of this bike! Secondly, I am looking to take my DAS test later this year (before the new stuff happens in October) and was wondering what a great second bike would be to get after passing? Third...and I promise I'll shut up after this...the sound is ok out of the XT125X, but I would prefer a Gianelli Enduro 4T exhaust which sounds the dogs doo dahs...where do I get one (local to Yorkshire)? Thanks guys n galls. Much appreciated
