  1. Started by dan2008,

Any thoughts on the 2003 R6? Particularly like the limited edition yellow and black model. Should I bother with this year bike just because I like the paint job? Does it have any bad habits? Are there any areas where it's better than the newer 2007 model? Thanks

When I change my ex-can what do you do with the power valve. Do you just disconnect the 2 cables and leave them in place.

Howdy, I'm a bit new to bikes and such. I had a dirtbike as a kid ( can't remember it though ) Now I'm older and looking into street bike for riding to work and such. Taking a MSF Course eventually ( later this year ) to familiarize myself some with a bike. I was curious how the US FZ6 is for a beginner and comfort of this bike. Planning on keeping this for a while. My bike choices ( In my price range ) are Yamaha FZ6 and a Kawasaki Ninja 650R. Both are nice looking bikes. now to get some feed back from people who have ridden them. Thanks for any information you can provide. Andy

Hi, Thinking of getting a new (07) R6. Have been on a couple of insurance websites looking for quotes and one in particular offers the R6 at approx half the cost compared to other 600cc sports bikes. I've checked that I've put my details in correctly god knows how many times. Personally I reckon its a mistake within the website and how it calculates the premium eg, when I put in YZF-R6, it really thinks I've said something that resembles a hairdryer. Do you think the insurance company can make me pay the extra if at some point after I've purchased it they realise the error. Do you think there is an error or is it me? I read an old review from 2002 that said '…

Hi all, I've just bought my first bike! It's a DT 125 RE & I pick it up on Wednesday (can't wait!). I went for the DT because of my height (6' 5") & it seemed to get good reviews. Is there anything about this model in terms of maintenance etc that differers from other bikes that, as a newbie, I should know about? Cheers, Mateus

Hi Just stumbled in here after some web browsing for R6 info. At the minute i ride a Honda NC30, and i love it to death. But middle of next year i'm thinking about getting an R6 so that the NC30 can be polished to death. Anyway, i'm looking price wise at the earlier R6's, which helps as i prefer the looks to the newer ones (what the hell is that off-cut of plastic about on the new ones!?) lol I've seen a couple of the yellow/black Kenny Roberts paintjobs knocking about on the roads and think they look stunning? Are these limited editions or custom paintjobs or did they come standard at any time? Cheers, Craig.

I recently bought a 96 yzf750. it only has 9k miles on it, and after cleaning the carbs it runs and idles well, but the tach keeps going up to 7k on its own...like a code or something. Anyone know what that means? Also, I have to dump the clutch around 4-5k in order to take off, otherwise it just sputters at like 1.5k rpms and then dies when i stop giving it gas. Im assuming thats the exup acting up? When i first turn on the bike, should i be able to hear or see the exup do anything? thank you for your guys time.

Merry Christmas to you all... I have just bought an XT125X (collecting in the next day or so) for my girlfriend to learn to ride on. Just a couple of questions, what mileage should the 1st inspection be completed at (I assume 600?) and subsequently, what is the service interval (mileage / time)? Just want to make sure it's been properly serviced before I take it away. It's a 2006 model with approximately 3500 miles on the clock. Many thanks.

Hi all-Kev here, just bought an FZ1-N (yes the naked one) in November so only been out on it twice but looking forward to the warmer weather and some dry roads. My question is can anyone recommend a flyscreen/small fairing for this bike and if so do they have any pictures of these fitted to there bikes. Christmas money is burning a hole in my pocket already. Thanx in advance-Kev

  16. Started by dkratz,

I intend to buy an FZ6 this spring. I currently own a Kawasaki KLR 650 that vibrates so bad, it puts my hands to sleep after 10 or 15 minutes. I know thumpers vibrate, but I have gotten to the point that I don't enjoy riding it anymore. I read every report I could find on the FZ6 and all the reports say that most of the quirks with the FZ were taken care of in the 2007 model. One report said that above 5000 rpm, the handlebars buzz to the point of putting your hands to sleep on long trips. I would like to know if the virbation they are talking about is really that bothersome or if it is something that I can live with.

Right, I drive a heavily modded Peugeot 206, pictured below. You'll no doubt recognise the headlights and this is where my problem lies. Obviously the offside headlight is currently a main beam light, big circle, no pattern. It just about gets through an MOT at the moment but to be frank it's incredibly antisocial as you'll apprecaite. My question is this, is it possible to modify this light to dip it somehow? Can I use a dipping plate from a N/S light and put it into the O/S one? Is there aother way around this at all? I'm not brilliant when it comes to technical stuff but generally can follow instructions. I know it's not strictly bike related…

I have a Californian model fzr600 which I purchased K&N double cone air filters for. The bike obviously needs re jetted or tweaked as a result as it is going like a bucket of s***! Just looking to find out what jet sizes I should get or can i adjust existing carbs in anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
