Hey Guys, If i was to install a new exhaust pipe on my yamaha YZF R125, would it make my insurence invalid? Do you have to tell the insurence company that you have it? and how much does this put your insurence up by? Cheers, Charlie

So finally got the bike fixed but I haven't been able to figure out which position is which. Looking at it from the left hand side, the arrow in the 9 o'clock position is ON, right? Which is reserve - 7 o'clock or 10 o'clock? Both make my bike run like poo after a minute. Maybe the reserve setting bummed out? Any help appreciated!

Hi all, Just recently got a 07 ybr125. It seems the back light is not working, the one that should be on all the time. The brake light is working fine. Can anyone tell me which is the light that stays on all the time, as there are 2 lights at the back, the top one is brake so im guessing the bottom one should be on all the time. Anyone know how to replace the bulb in the bottom one? thanks, adilxs

Well, I'm a Uk citizen, so i have to wait till im 17 to ride a 125cc bike; I've been riding a DT50MX for a few weeks, and ive decided to keep this till i am 17, so I can sell it and get a big lump of money My Max price would be £1500, absolute maximum, as i'll have the bike for 4 years and done direct access course. Birthday on June 03 2009 I like Cruiser + tour bikes, but im not very sure what the difference between them is. It's for commuting to college every day (9.6miles each way) all along main roads. What bikes would you reccomend? ~Dufferz PS, I quite like the CG125.. any thoughts?

  8. Morning Ladies and Gentlemen Just a quickie if I may, firstly I'm new here so hello to everyone and thanks for the tips I've already picked up from reading around. I have recently picked up a '98 Cat and as much as I love it cornering is a little unpredictable, it doesn't always seem to quite go quite where I'm expecting. Tyres are good and meaty, although I've just let the back one down to 38 PSI and that has helped (it was 42!) so I wondered if anyone can give me any advice on setting the shocks up please. I'm 5'10 ish and about 13 stone if that helps. Might just make it a little more confidence inspiring on the corners. Also, the front cowl seems to be at a…

Hi to all! This is my first post and I need your help.. I'm interested for the "Side Cowling Panel Kit" combined with roller protectors, and the official Yamaha site notes: "Currently cannot be combined with the FZ6 Roller Protectors" Yamaha UK site But in the photo of the accessory there are roller protectors attached, so can you please tell me if anyone has actually got the new roller protectors? or someone could find the code for them? The current roller protector kit will not fit with the fairing kit due to the mounting points being covered. The picture is from the original Yamaha site, so I guess there are not aftermarket, eg r&g, puig, or some…

Ok people as you know, I am having a hard time choosing between "Yamaha YZF R125 or Aprilia RS 125" I have read alot about the two bikes. the yzf 125 is a 4 stroke so in terms of speed only about 70/75mph the rs125 about 120 mph unrestricted but not the most reliable bike what i figured out is that the ups and down are: Yamaha; the good part is thats its little/none work with the mechanic, its good for the CO2 or wtever, i dont really care.. the bike hold good for normal driving. the bad part is that its a 4 stroke, and its almost not possible to tune. max speed is 134. its 2000$ cheaper the aprilia aprilia: the good part is that its very good speed an…

Hi, I recently brought a YBR and after running it for a few days the electric rev counter has stopped worked properly, and works sometimes when the full beam is switched on. Was wondering if anyone had an idea about this? I am going to get a new battery to see if this is the problem, but think it might be a short somewhere in the circuit.

Hello everyone I have been riding a 125 Yamaha Cygnus for just over a year but can't resist getting a geared bike any longer so I'm looking to buy a used YBR. I use it for doing small journeys; rarely more than 20 miles or so. I have no experience buying vehicles second-hand so can anybody give me any tips, or advice on what to check for? I've heard that the YBR can suffer from rust, is there anything else specific that you would recommend I look out for? Any general advice would be great too! Thanks and happy riding, Ryan

Hello All! Completely new to YOC. Glad to be here, and hope I can learn and contribute! Just purchased '86 FJ1200 (s). Have been lusting after this bike since first sight many, many, MANY years ago. Finally, birthday present from wife! Bike is completely stock, and after riding my previous Seca 750 ('82) for almost 20 years, I know that comfort is not necessarily built in to Yamaha's. Looking for recommendations as to seat upgrades, etc, as well as information on luggage (bags, tank bags, trunk bags) that are both useful AND safe or approved for the FJ. Any other suggestions (other than purely performance, as believe me, I'm no mechanical "ace") will certainly b…

Hi, new to the forum after recently buying a new YBR 125 and was wondering if anyone knew of a stockist - preferably online that would stock parts for the imported version ( the one with the small fairing over the headlights and indicators ). The reason i'm asking is my bike recently got blown off its centre stand in my driveway and now has a neat little hole through the screen on the fairing - I managed to find a stockist for the complete fairing but I'd rather not pay for the whole fairing when i only need the bolt-on screen. Any Help would be appreciated.

hi Everybody, as an old 'pootler' who enjoys a recreational ride throughout all seasons, am looking at my next potential bike - either a F1 Fazer ABS or a FZ1 ABS vs. a TDM900. Before I get to the TDB900 questions, I would like to understand... 1. What's the difference between the two FZ1s? 2. I prefer the look of the Naked FZ1/Fazer (the one with the black engine + underbelly cover) over the half-cowled Sports version, as I would definitely add a screen thereafter...so, which screen is best, and is this a good plan? TDM900 Questions 3. This seems a great machine, yet hardly anyone seems to buy them - why is that? 4. As I've browsed through the whole s…

  19. Hi, first post here so if it's stupid please treat me gently. I have a 95 XJ 600N Diversion and both rear pistons siezed, I do schedule a strip down every year but the additional bad weather has caught me out, anyway I have managed to free one piston but the other won't budge. I have trawled the internet and contacted all the breakers that I can find but can't get one anywhere. hence the question - does anyone know if a caliper off any other bike will fit ? I have placed mine against a 02 Thundercat and apart from the pipe entry (which I can work around) they look the same. thanks Brian

  20. Need some more help from anyone familiar with FJs. Looked at and test drove a 1984 FJ1100 (I've owned 2 in the past so I know a bit about them). This is the 2nd or 3rd owner. He bought is as it sits now but he was told many things I can't visually see. But here's what I do see... Gorgeous Deep Candy Apple paint job with nice subtle white "Yamaha" painted on tank (cool font)no other markings. Engine from outside appearance is a typical FJ motor (no case painting repairs, looks like any other FJ engine) except an oil cooler has been added with steel braided lines (2) into top of valve covers (one side) and down to bottom of side case. I assume this was the standard af…
