I noticed a big hole right down to the armouring in my back tyre a few weeks ago so thought it would be a good time to set her in for the winter months and start the modding process! I'm now looking for a new set of tyres! Opinions please?

I have seen a lot of bikes advertised (mostly on ebay), and I am sure that they are advertising the incorrect model years. My understanding is that the tail on 06+ bikes is very tapered. for example...Here is my bike that I got 2 days ago. It is a 2006. And here is one (on ebay), which is advertised as a 2007 model. I could easily give many more examples of bikes listed as 06 or 07 models which are clearly not. How can this be?

Hey! I'm a fairly new rider with a years worth of riding! I currently own a 2008 R6 which is everything i thought i wanted in a bike! fast, pokey, great handling etc...! But iv just come into some money and was looking to upgrade to a 2009 R1 but is it really an upgrade...? I love winding roads which are abundant in my neck of the woods! Is my R6 enough? And would my relative inexperience hinder my riding on such a powerful bike? Basically I'm looking for general opinions on which would be best my R6 or a new R1? Pro's and Cons and all that...! Cheers.

Soo i hear a lot of things. i was wondering if there was an actual study on the amount of fatal motorcycle crashes, and the cause of it. well actually i'ts mostly from ppl who show off and do stunts on the street right? well i was even more wondering if there was a comparison of % of fatal bike accidents where it wasn't the biker's fault compared to the % of fatal car crashes. But i wanted some of the factors removed from this statistic, such as stupid people who show off on public roads (which would more than likely lower the percent greatly). I heard most young street bike drivers die within the first 6 months from inexperience and over doing it, and most of all …

Anyone on here have any of the MT series bikes here in the USA? Seems that the MT-03 is Europe only and the MT-01 is Europe and Canada only (maybe Asia as well), but nothing here in the USA. I know I've come across some hints of a few in the US, wondering if anyone here has one, or knows how someone got one. Thanks.

Hi, i've read that the SR125 is meant to have three positions for the choke. Mine only has one and it goes right back in when I let go of it. So i'm guessing that it's meant to stay out by it's self when working properly? So how would I go about changing it? And is it a complicated job? I'm only 17 and this is my first bike so I've got no clue when it comes to the mechanics of it. Also, can you leave the choke out and ride the bike at the same time while it gets hot and then just let it back in later? It''s just that it takes me like 10 mins to get that bike on the road, cos i've gotta put all the gear on, then stand there while i hold the choke out and then keep r…

Got a spanking new R6 a few months back and i love it!! Had it up on its pit stand today making it look pretty for xmas, i turn my back for 2 seconds and BANG!!! Its on its side!! The crash bungs saved most of the damage but the clutch leaver was bent. Being the bright spark that i am i thought 'should just bend back' - NOPE IT SNAPS OFF!!!!! Maybe someone can cheer me up by saying it aint going to cost too much to fix??

Hi, Thinking about buying an FZ 1 Fazer but need the help of you experts. I am fairly short and would prefer to lower it what can be done? has anyone done this and how ? is a lowering kit available and what are the side affects of fitting one if any. I ride a V Max now and lowered that enough by just changing the seat but they are fairly low to start off with. I have seen some FZ1 lowering kits of up to 40mm advertised on some American web sites and wonder if they are any good. Thanks John

This is a brief review I did for my own site......thought it might interest some of you! Let me point out I'm no Mark Williams or LJK Setright when it comes to journalism.....but here goes! I was looking for an allround workhorse.....something I could use on good days for work, and something that I could ride for pleasure if I had any free time. I didn't want to spend a fortune....up to 2K max.....so it was not going to be anything exotic. The choices were pretty limited.....there were various niche market bikes like sportsbikes, sports tourers, tourers, adventure bikes, muscle bikes, dualsport, offroaders, custom etc.....but all I wanted was a B…

I am trying to find out what is the largest size of box I can safely/comfortably fit on the back of my 2007 YBR 125. Ideally I would like to get one big enough to take 2 helmets if possible, it also needs to be easily removable so I can fit the bike into the back of my motorhome garage.

Would a DT400 barrel piston crank and rod fit the 250 crank cases??? I know all the usuall tuning mods but the bigger the bore the better the starting place! I've solved one huge problem, i've reduced the weight by 50kgs at least by having a super light TZR 125 chassis, and some more to loose with spoked 17" alloy rims onway. I need to get Gibson to make a exhaust for it as its now a road going bike,i want one that fits properly!!! I noticed the expansion on a trial/dirt bike of the DT's era/type has a longer front pipe before the expansion than a road bike.... does that affect the rev range of torque? ie make it happen lower down compared to roa…

I own a 2008, Yamaha V Star 250 that I upgraded with a tachometer and a wind-deflector. I went ahead and changed my front and rear sprockets from 16/45 to 17/38. The change is hard to believe. There is no clutch slippage in 1st gear and great acceleration in all gears including 1st. I had it at 75 mph at 5,900 rpm in 5th gear. If I had done this with the stock sprockets the rpm's calculated would have been 7,500 rpm. I am 5 ft 10. inches and weigh 200 lbs, yet this bike has a lot of torque and acceleration even with the 17/38 change, and best of all riding on the interstate is now very possible. I have just over 500 miles on the bike now, and still in the break in 1000 mi…

Hi guys, I'm thinking about buying a 2008 R6 in graphite (with the red logo) and just wanted to know the differences between 2008 and 2007/2006 models apart from the different colour schemes. Are there any engineering upgrades at all? Secondly when I do purchase one , what are the best options for removing the ugly indicators? I heard about some flush mount ones and an integrated rear light with indicators built in (all found on ebay). Any problems with MOT's, particularly with 'smoked' ones? Any help would be sweet, I can't wait to get an R6! Thanks
