Hi folks! I'm looking to fit a top box to my XJ 900S Diversion (1997) so that my better half will consider riding pillion without worrying about falling off the back!!! Ideally, I would like to fit a Givi E52 or E55 or any 2 helmet mono lock equivalent, but am confused as to whether one can be fitted or not. When I list the available Givi accessories for the Diversion, it shows a 331-F rack, but that does not look suitable for a mono lock case. Is there a plate that you have to get as well? Any suggestions for a suitable 2 helmet box?? Cheers

Help! While bleeding my front brakes a piston popped out and fluid went everywhere, leaving little or nothing to bleed and air in the system. After getting the piston back in place (and clamping it!) I filled the reservoir again but squeezing the lever doesn't seem to pump fluid through now. Am I missing something? Do I have to syphon it through somehow? Steve

Hi guys, Im new here, ive got a YZF R125 and when i removed the pillion pegs it left 2 huge holes in the indertray, to solve the problem i made so polished stainless plates to cover them. They stop all the much etc from gettting in the rear of the bike from the back wheel. Im now selling these on ebay if any of you are interested check out the link below http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YZF-R125-Pillion-bla...A1%7C240%3A1318 if you would preffer to see them in a differnt finish post on the poll cheers dave

I am doing a service with a mate for the first time on my 2007 R1. Ive got all the bits from the dealers to do the job. But when it came to the Oil I was just going to use the recommended YAMALUBE oil in it ,But my dealer only stocks Shell Advance. I had a choice between a 10/40 semi and a 10/40 ultra Fully synth, which was £10 more. I went for the more expensive option thinking you get what you pay for. But my mate said he wold use the semi as a full would make my clutch wear out alot quicker as he has had friends with Blackbirds who have used fully and there clutchs have lasted 1500 miles. Is my Grease monkey mate full of it ( HE DOES RIDE A HONDA) or has anyone had thi…

I've got a xs400 that I can't seem to get the timing right to get it to fire off and run. I bought the thing as a basket case, rebuilt the top end of the motor and did some chopping to make a cool little chopper...well now it looks cool but don't run. The left cylinder will pop off and backfire thru the carbs, but the right side won't pop unless there's a good amount of carb cleaner in it's carb. I'm getting gas thru the carb and into both cylinders. I think I've got a major timing issue, but my manual isn't much for setting timing really well after a rebuild. I was wondering if there were any helpful hints or if I could switch the ignition over to something like a B…

Got a 1979 xs400 F project chopper. I was wondering if anybody knew the length of the fork tubes (with the sliders off)? I need to add 2 inches to them and didn't know if there was another fork set out there for 33mm tudes that had a longer length or if there is some sort of extension I can get. The carbs situation...I've looked thru all the threads on carbs and can't seem to find what I think I need. I need the pilot and jet sizes for the original carbs for this bike. I'd like to rebuild the whole thing, just don't know what sizes to get. I'm thinking of putting on the pod style air filters and don't know if that will affect what sizes I need. Now for the ignition…

Evening Folks. I am after a bit of advice - I am looking to change the twin exhaust on my FZ6 Fazer S2 07/08 Model for something a bit less plasticy looking and meatier sounding. The questions I have are : I am looking for a nice sound, LEGAL, and still within limits for track days.......Any recommendations (It is to go with a Black Fazer, so had thought about a carbon look, also not after something that will cost my arm and leg......need those to ride.) If changing the exhaust (and possible system, as stainless steel will weather winter better than the standard rust hungry effort) do I need to get a power commander or such like, if so, what recommendations. …

Hi. im new to this site and looking for help on tyre choice for my thundercat. I do a bit of two up riding and the odd track day but mainly road riding at a decent pace. Any information on what tyres anyone has used for this sort of riding would be welcome thanks. From what I've read, because I passed my car test before 2001 I'm allowed to ride an insured 50cc scooter (31mph limit) on the road without taking any tests, and can do this without L plates for as long as I like. And carry a passenger. But I was wondering does this law mean I can also ride a 50cc motorbike (eg dt50) under the same rules?

Ok, folks, New rider (8 months, 13k miles), first post, 98 Royal Star Tour Deluxe, use it to commute 225 miles roundtrip three times a week... My bike stalls almost every day at the same exact spot on the interstate. I gas up after about an hour and a half on the road, head down the on-ramp, gun it to merge, and the bike stalls and won't restart. I wait a minute on the shoulder, the bike restarts, and is (usually) fine. It also happens if I stop at a rest area. If this isn't weird enough, it never happens in the morning, when I also top off (can't make it 225 miles on a tank). The morning stops are a little longer since I grab a coffee. So... 1. Warm engi…

Does anyone know if the Thunderace was restricted to 125BHP like the Exup was? The Exup had a restriction moulded into the inlet rubbers, easily removed with a stanley knife to release the full power, a lot easier than fitting the ZXR750 carb tops like you had to do with the ZZR1100.

I just bought a 1986 FJ 1200. I havn't heard it run with its carb on, but it ran great with a carb from a Legends car on it. I am going to put the carb back on so I can at least hear it before I send the carb out for rebuild. My question is, can I spray the heck out of the carb with carb cleaner before reinstalling, or will that possibly harm something? Thanks
