    Hi to all .....as you can see am new to the club ! Have finally got round @ 47 to go for bike test so am the new owner of a xt125x ....didn't test ride the bike on purchase then realised dreaded xt speedo hassle . The digital reading stays on 0 mph no matter what mode it's in ....have removed and cleaned the magnetic sensor ...maybe go for a new one ? The bike has a mph decal over the kph on clocks ...when key is turned the display goes through it's check then OIL 5750 appears then display goes to normal . It reads 1330 TOD also in another mode so can anyone tell me which one is the mileage ? I have rang the dealer who is emailing me service invoices they have up to 900 …

    hi all my bike is nearly due an MOT but i know the exhaust wont pass as it is a rusty tube and has a hole appeared and is blowing what is the best alternative because yamaha want stupid money for a new stock end can and cannot find one cheap aftermarket one on ebay anywhere so any ideas of any exhast that is cheap and will pass the MOT cheers martin

    hi,high & low beam isnt working on my 09 xt125x,everything else seems ok,including the side light & tail light.i suspect that it may be down to a 5 pin relay located behind the right hand sidepanel,next to the cdi.does anyone know if it could be this relay at fault? (and would it only affect hi/lo beam.) thanks in advance for any advice that is offered.

    Hi...Can someone help please? Having had a misfire on my Virago 535 I have renewed the coils, Plugs. leads and caps. Both plugs have big sparks, But I noticed there is no exhaust gas from the rear cylinder. Any idea please? seems to run ok, needs a little fettling but pulls well. HELP.....Ted

    There have been a lot of older bike strip threads started recently so I thought I would post about the old skool armature removal. The armature is a wire coil that forms part of the generator/starter. The part is generally held in place as a press fit on the end of the crankshaft and has a woodruff key to stop it spinning. A bolt may or may not hold this is place but the armature will be a very tight fit and will not just pull off. Yamaha have a special tool to remove them however, they do seem to be scarce (unless people know better?). Hi i was just wondering if someone could help me i have a Yamaha ttr 125 bike but the engine broken. now iv see the ybr 125 have the same mounting so it should fit right into the ttr 125 frame. but the ybr 125 engine that im going to buy is fuel injected so is it possible for me to connect the ybr 125 engine into my ttr even if its fuel inject? if so how removing the carb?

  9. Hey guys (I hope this is in the right thread) I have noticed recently that my petrol mileage on my 2004 yamaha Dragstar Classic has gone crap recently. The only contributing factors I have are that I have been using the choke a lot more to warm her up (as it has been cold lately) and that I have modified the air intake system. The current setup has a k&n air filter, cut open stock airbox ( more air flow) , silvertail k02 exhaust pipes (with the baffles) and jetted carbs (127.5 main jets) I am aware that there is a sacrifice of fuel economy for a few more horsepower however I am barely scraping 100 miles on a full tank!   11. I've been experiencing troubles with my 2008 YBR custom. It began with it intermittently refusing to start, which eventually led to me replacing the spark plug and then paying a garage to replace the coil pack. Seemed fine at first after this, but soon enough started happening again, so took it back to the garage and asked them to have a look while fitting new sprockets. They were unable to reproduce the issue in the garage. After getting it back, it started cutting out while running at speed. I could get it going again immediately by dipping the clutch, but freewheeling in traffic at 60 mph while you restart isn't fun! At this point, it started throwing up an engine…

    Hello, i am new here in this forum. I hope you can help me with my issue with my Yamaha DT 175. I have been driving a good distance when it suddenly went max on RPM. It's not the cable, cable housing neither is it carberator i have looked on that with help. What can be causing this now? It's a 2 stroke, 171cc with single carburetor.

    Hi all, i was wondering if anyone might shed some light on my issue. not long had the bike- about 3 months. Always seemed to run fine, did smell a little bit petrol after riding and sometimes a couple of small drops on the floor after parking up but not always. suddenly the other week it poured fuel on start up. I thought it was the y pipe (the carb manifold?) as that looked cracked so ordered a new decent make one. Just replaced it and much of the same.     Anybody who has read my project will know that my bike is an ex field bike and it was chucked together quite shoddily to get through the MOT, including the electrics. What I need to know is when you turn the ignition on, will your headlights and indicators work without the engne running as mine will only work the brake light and horn so I'm wondering if this is normal and you have to have the engine running to power the big stuff. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am rewiring all the indicators as they have been hacked off so knowing that they shouldn't work without with the engine on will cut out a lot of frustration!!!!   16. hi people. i have looked all over and cant seem to find the answer. so. i recently bought a 1989 XJ600. and i noticed on the fuel tap it says on, reserve and prime... question is what is the prime position for and should i use it? i have only ever seen on, off and reserve on bikes so im guessing its something the older bikes had. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there i have a Yamaha aerox yq100 I had this running and on the road for a few weeks one day I popped home on my dinner break went to leave again to go back to work and it wouldn't start what so ever and has never had a spark since.
