TZR 125 (1998) YPVS fitted After I restored my TZR 125 I had trouble with the bike spluttering and not wanting to rev over 3k. I put this down to rust from the tank blocking the carb jet, so after numerous cleaning both with the tank and carb I seemed to have got it sorted and on its last run out pulled like a train from 7k in all gears. Now its gone back to spluttering again. The bike starts either 1st or 2nd kick when cold and always 1st kick when warm, revs cleanly from tick over, but try to ride it and it coughs and splutters from about 3k rpm regardless of throttle position. I stripped the carb again and it was clean, I have fitted a costly metal and glassโฆ

Hi I am hoping for some help. I cannot get my neutral light to come on. I've tried two new switches in and it doesn't work. However if I take the lead on the top and attach an earth it does. I can see from the wiring diagram that the switch just makes an earth connection. I seems like the "probe" on the switch isn't meeting with something in the gearbox and closing to make the connection to earth. Any help very much appreciated

Hi guys, for my first post I've got a problem for you, to do with my XVS 125. So last night I was changing my standard plugs (they were in good condition, just for longeivity) to some nice fancy Iridium ones, which to my suprise, caused the bike to fail to start with the starter motor. I checked the plugs to see if they were sparking and they both were, so not sure why this was happening. I bump started the bike and it fired right up, then turned it off. After this it started on the starter motor fine about 10 minutes later. The problem, is that this morning I tried to start the bike again with the motor, and it wouldn't fire. I tried bump starting it for a good 10 mโฆ

Every one knows that Yamaha use its parts bin for different models! Just came across this on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=34238 i have'nt used it, but the www.yamaha-xt500.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1230 have and says its great! you type in your model and you get all the common parts from other different models, so an sr500 part may fit but with a different part number.

Hi all wondered if you could help me at all as Iโm not the most mechanically minded. yesterday I was almost at work and slowed down to drive into the car park and my bike cut out no electrics no lights nothing. what would be the process of elimination to check whatโs up with it? I have a Haynes manual . a few times I checked on the bike and sometimes when turning the ignition on it made a spluttering noise like a drowning man but then itโs stopped and later on nothing at all.I tried to jump start it with a battery pack but that did nothing .the fuse seems ok as itโs not broken but it looked as old as hell. thanks in advance

Hi guys I have previously posted about my bike not starting from the electric switch ( check previous forum for more details ) however I changed the starter and had nothing, tested with multimeter and I had no volt spike. However yesterday me and my uncle had a look, and we put a wire and jumped over the starter and it ticked over fine so that leave switch I believe ? However he continued to test all the cable and it looked fine by what I could gather from facial expressions , however he was then trying to a jump over all the cable, and one of them sparked and when I looked the natural light had gone off and the bike would cut out when side stand was down and in naturalโฆ

Hi I have a 1981 yamaha xt 250 with electrical problems. Its a 6V system with seperate voltage regulator and rectifier as far as i understand. I have changed the regulator and cdi box with second hand parts but problem still persists. At the moment we are still getting 40V AC at the battery. Does someone know what i can look at or change?

I've bought a Yamaha sr 125 from 1992, and I wanted to put a small speedometer on it as I find the big flat original one a bit ugly, but I can not find the ratio for the speedometer to put on one that is compatible on. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks

Hi All My wife has an XV750 Virago, she loves the power but hates the way it handles, she also has an XVS650 Custom, loves the way it handles but hate that it's gutless. My question is is it possible to swap the motors over, has anybody ever done it? I know I can get a little more from the 650 by changing the air filer and re jetting it (pipes are already done) but nowhere as much as the 750, which I believe is the fastest 750 in its class, it easily keeps up with my 950 Bolt. All info and advice will be greatly appreciated Thanks Les

I have an XT 125X (2008) that has been locked away for the past 5 years after it failed its MOT. It required about ยฃ400 worth work to replace steering head bearings, rear wheel bearings and front fork oil seals but I never got around to it. Before I put it away, the engine was working fine with no issues, however, having sat there for all this time, I doubt it would simply tick over without some maintenance (oil/fuel change, new battery etc.). I'm probably going to get nothing in its current condition but could it be worth anything if I spent some time getting the engine running again at least? I don't see myself riding again so I'm looking to sell this off. I won't โฆ

Hello guys, I have a XVS 125 thaty I'm trying to get cranked up after sitting 3 years with a bent valve. I replaced the valves and lapped the new ones in and put the head on. I have an original Service manual the previous owner gave me which as per usual seems a bit misleading to the unlearned. I am a certified car mechanic but metric bikes are new to me so I'm rookie in a way. My problem is that the "T" and "I" timing marks are not exactly TDC but the 3rd "timing mark" that is a line just so happens to be TDC for the rear cylinder. Although I will admit I got this totally wrong and timed the beast to the stroke of TDC. Now that I have found my error and after many sโฆ

Can anybody suggest different brake and clutch levers for the 1995 XV1100 Virago. The original ones bend out too far and make it difficult to grab them. I'm after something a bit straighter. Anybody had the same problem and sorted it out. Appreciate any advice. Cheers. :yay:

Hi! I would like to ask a question. I have a YBR125 injection 2007. If I put the speedo of a no ingection model YBR125 what kind of problems may I will have? Personaly, I don't have problem if the only problem will be that in the sign of the "engine problems" (the wellow one at the injection model) could be the sign of the "right turn" of the carb speedo. I tried to find the speedo with the "engine problems" sign but I can't find any and the only I find costs 340 euros. I am sending a photo of my bike's speedo and that I found at the e-bay. Mine! Hello, I'm new here but saw a lot of smart people with great solutions for other people's bike problems. The problems began when I kinda broke the starter( at this pint it's not working at all). I couldn't go up the hill and my bike kept stalling, after which I would turn it back on. When I finally got back home the starter would need a few tries to work. The next day the starter would try to sping just to die out. So after that, I would just bump start it. Few weeks passed and I decided to get it fully fixed, but at this point even starter relay won't click. And when bump starting the moment I try to get a motorcycle in to neutral it would stall. Greatings from Denmark i have issues with my 21 year old yamaha 600 Fazer. it is almost like my engine stutters, when arround 3000 rpm it stalls and dies when i give it more throttle. Anyone who have solved same issue?

Hi! I Was lubing the clutch cable today, I noticed the cable had slipped out of the bracket at the engine end. I was trying to reset the cable into the bracket and return spring back into position and the b@stard spring just snapped ( the bent bit at the bottom ) I couldn't figure out how to replace the spring. I looked at the manual (ch 2-15 / 17 ) and it looks like the rod the bracket attaches to just slides out, but in the manual the engine has been removed from the frame. In place it looks like the battery bracket is going to stop the rod from coming out far enough to replace the spring. So 2 questions - 1 does the engine need to come out to replace the sprโฆ

OK, so my bike ( 2006 tzr 50 ) is being a real cow. The battery isn't charging on the bike, tested it with a multimeter ( even when reved, it stays at 12v ). It is quite hard to get started sometimes, and doesn't ride well at anything less than 7000rpm. The head and tail lights aren't working but the the signals are. Plus it likes to cut out every now and then I'm starting to think the stator plate needs replacing ; any advice or help appreciated

help i need to get a manual for an xvs 125(2000) the rear cam siezed and sheard the cam sprocket bolt i need to know how to set the rear cam up and set timing,but have been trying to get a service manual and have been told unobtainable by 1 dealer and back order available 2010 by another can any1 help please
