So I own a Dtr-125 and I'm looking to get like a real offroad racing bike like a yz or ktm. I want to know if I would be able to handle the power of the YZ or KTM. I've been riding for eight years but only in woods and fields. I've rode 85's, they have got a kick but I find them small bikes and it will be easy for me to grow out of it. So simple question, if I can ride a DTR-125 would I be able to ride a YZ-125?

Hi y`all, I have been looking about for some exploded diagrams for a DT50mx but hitting a brick wall as no where seems to have them. It would make it so much easier to rebuild so I could work out exactly what I`m missing. Online repair and service manuals also seem a bit thin on the ground - any ideas?

Now my bike is back on the road and mechanically sound I think we should have a little competition for a bit of fun. All you have to do is try and predict the next thing to get 'grouched'. It could take days or even months for something to happen so get guessing.

Well what a first race to start the season. Mark Marqez had a blinding race considering its his first race on the big bikes. Lorenzo...................well what can i say he is a cracking rider and showed that last night, but if Rossi hadn't been a complete twit on the first few laps i recon the race would have been a corker between those two. Mr Crutchlo really needs to stop letting the pressure get to him, if he had kept his calm when Rossi went for him he wouldn't have gone off and could have stuck with Rossi for a few more laps. Just my 2p on the race. did any one else watch?

Loving being able to tinker with my mx400, sooo theraputic and brings me back to the good old days. Hope I can get all the bits sorted to make it road legal............. got some good help on here Thanks

Hi all, I have a couple of queries and was hoping some bright sparks on here might give me the info... I have been looking at YZ 125's, mainly the engine, and I know there are differences but I was just wondering if anybody knew what the main differences between them are that give the yz its extra umph, I mean is it as simple as porting differences or is it a completely different engine?? Exhaust and carburettor are a lot bigger and gear ratios must be different for the track use but what about the engine internals?? They have similarities in look but this doesnt mean anything.. Hi. i have a 2001 dt 125 - first bike. i am new to bikes but have been a car mechanic for 10 years so playing with this a bit of fun as well as a learning process. the wiring on my bike has been cut about (to take basically all of the electrics off to make it into a motocross bike - by previous owner). it kicks over and starts / runs fine, however i have no operation of the power valve / servo. the power valve rotates and isnt siezed, cables are good, servo is in working order. therefore must be a wiring issue. i have a 3RM-20 cdi if that helps. and the ypvs servo is the five wire type, 4 in a connector and 1 with a bullet like connector. HI, my brother's got a Yamaha YBR year 2008 and it takes a good 5 minutes to warm up every time, even if it's been running and then we stop for 10 minutes. I've told him it might be the battery. If you've got one of these bikes (or have any ideas) how does yours start up? I mean my 20 year old SR 125 starts up first time, every time on the button, you would have thought a 2008 YBR would do the same this is why I think it is the battery myself. Thanks.

Just noticed yesterday i had my bike up on the stand and running in netural and the rear wheel was turning slowly is dis normal ??

Speedo cable broke on the NTV last weekend, was the 17 year old original so no real heartache but .... To replace it I had to remove the wee Puig flyscreen covering the clocks, undid the bolts OK but when lifting it off, as the tension was released from the clamps the plastic cracked around the mounting points (it's been friggin' cold here since forever so everything's brittle). Shed time - clean up the cracks with the Dremel and re-drill new mounting points, the screen now sits 1/2" lower, but that's fine. Put it all back together to find the speedo backlight doesn't - arse! Take it apart - gently - find the loose connection and sort it, put it all back togethe…

This mite sound like a silly question but when driving my bike everytime i change gear the bike jolts . Or jerks i can never seem to get a sooth gear change . Now ots not the bike as it always happens on other bikes to . Now am i releaseing it two fast or two slow and will it cause any damage to the bike . I just two ised to motorcrossing bad habbits etc .any advice would b great thanks

I have a oil leak from the breather on to of drive diff why ?? It's not over filled just started to leak oil looks a bit pearlescent ?

Hi All, Would not normally ask this but just wondering if anyone might know what a good price for a Yamaha RD350B might be? I only ask as I am selling one for my neighbour who has had it in his garage for the last 20 odd years, so as you can imagine it is more than a little dusty rusty and generally in poor condition, all the parts are there and it has a V5 from 1975 so a genuine candidate for a resto, but I have put it on to ebay and am snowed under with OFFERS! even tho I said no offers in the advert, bloody pointless putting it in there really! Still just curious what it might be worth as I am not now a stroker fiddler, used to be but like something slightly less manic…

HI all ,just looking for some advice today ,, Recently ,well the last couple of days i have noticed a grinding sort of sound from the rear of the bike Sounds like the wheel area to me [XJ 600 S DIV ] . Happens maybe every couple of minutes for a second or two , does not do it when you turn the rear wheel by hand .I have also noticed tiny tiny shards of metal by the wheel if i run it on a stand im thinking to myself wheel bearing worn? if so how hard are they to replace. I use the bike everyday for work so can't afford to be off the road for long. All help would be greatly appreciated ,, Doc

i have recently got a jog on a 04 plate i runs as it should and starts firts time however when its been run for a couple of miles when i switch it of it wont start for about ten minits can someone please let me know what the problem is thanks kevin

What is wrong with my bike

Does anyone know where i can get a pair of exhaust flanges for an xs 250 ? Also does anyone know if a pair from an xs 400 would fit ??.
