well I had to take a day off from work today as i had the electric man coming round ti fit a new meter. my meter is at the back of my garage so i had move my bikes out & a lot of other crap, they said he will be here before 1pm so i thought i will make good use of my day off and get my bike mot'd in the afternoon, so I got up early to empty the garage and do a pre MOT check, 1st I got electrical gremlins which I predicted would happen to grouch, took me over 2 hours to sort out then i discovered that I had been riding round with an almost flat front tyre, which i had a bit of a pop at grouch about a couple of days ago, serve's me right for being a smart arse all …

If you go to the WEMOTO website , 3/4 of the way down the right hand side of the page is a search OEM part number box , this means if you have a part number you can search and see if it is still available and a price, I found this out last night when i put in the part number of the side panel grommets for my RD400 into google , and their page came up , I have seen gen ones for £3 each + P&P on fleece bay, they where about £1.30 on there and they are Gen ones to http://www.wemoto.com/

Hey guys, First off, nice to meet you all. (as far as meeting on a forum goes...) I'm new here. Just got one of my first bikes.. a 1973 TX500 Got the carbs off, and cleaning. Primary cover is off for general inspection/cleaning. I'll have some picture for you guys soon enough. Anyway.. I've been scouring the internet for a service manual for this thing (there is a loud tapping going on in the engine, and I'm guessing it's either valves or the cam chain slapping around... anyone know how I can figure out which it is?). I've never tightened a cam chain, or done a valve job. Hell I've never taken off a primary casing. Having tons of fun, but I need …

I just found another xs850. It's the 2nd one I've owned. This one slips or should I say bangs or slams out of gear when on the throttle Not when down shifting. Only when on throttle. I'm not to familiar with these bikes.

Help please! I'm not sure what is going to be best to start with. I know I will need a new gasket, but after that I don't know why else I may need. Basically the clutch is slipping through all the gears, even 1st and 2nd, suddenly 'kicking in' as if the gear wasn't quite engaging. I've looked on eBay and there seems to be several different options - clutch plate kit ranging through to complete assembly. Can anyone tell me what is going to be best for a relative novice mechanic (previous experience on lawn mowers only) to try first? Other than a garage that is!! Cheers, Andrew

Just a question to see how many kicks it takes, how long it takes to warm up and how does it ride. Do you guys like your DT?

For about a year I'd been using a cheap headset in an attempt to communicate with my pillion passenger, but just last week I upgraded to the Sena SMH10. Wow, what a difference. There is a huge improvement in sound quality and reduction in background noise. The SMH10 is also very easy to use, I really like how easy it is to change volume with the dial knob. I have a full-face helmet and so I used the wired mike and not the boom mike. My previous headsets cost about $70 each, bought at a bike show, but were more of a frustration than a benefit. The wind noise, road noise and engine noise were amplified together with voice so that it was difficult to make out voice and resul…

Hi all wondered what anyone else is achieving? I'm averaging about 72ish MPG. Is this about right? The bike is nearly 20 years old but I had been led to believe I should be getting more. Cheers

Heya peeps, i may be opening up a whole can of worms here, but is there actually any benefit to using premium fuel over the regular stuff besides maybe a few more BHP?, i used to run the DT and XJ on the cheapest stuff i could find, mainly because they were old bike and i wasnt bothered about doing very silly speeds, but since buying this fireblade its got me wondering, a friend of mine has an SV650 and all he uses is premium fuel, apparently its giving him a smoother ride and better MPG, wether it actually saves him enough money to make it worth while i dont know shame i cant run it on LPG, its now more expensive for me to ride than it is to drive

Heya peeps, The rain subsided today so i decided to check out the mega motorcycle store that bought out george whites earlier this year, i must say much of the kit is still at good prices, i even treated the fireblade to a set of oxford heated grips, reduced from £80 to £50 , was going to buy a nice alpinestar leather jacket which was £90 down from £299 but they didnt have my size and i couldnt carry it back on the blade they even had some of the old stock GW bikes in there for sale, has anyone else checked it out yet?
