After getting my bike back after 2 weeks I was pretty happy, its running a lot better and apart from the bulb holder breaking it was ok, until this afternoon. I was doing 55 mph on a by pass the road was busy and the wheel bearings went!!! I swear to God it just happened in an instant, the back wheel started bouncing all over and so did the bike. It was pretty scary and thank God I managed to control the bike, for a few seconds I thought I was coming off and I braced myself. Anyway got to a safe place and phoned the garage up who had just replaced the bearings and all the other £350 worth of work. They come out pretty quick and when he looked at it, he said the carrier be…

Does a bike need one? Been looking at sports bikes and some have them and some don't. I think I would prefer one but I could always fit one. Are they only any good on larger sports bikes? I'm getting a 125.

At last my bike is sorted, 12 months mot, fork seals, brake pads, electrics, front wheel bearings all for £219! I'm very pleased with it, they have done a good job and serviced it as well i.e. oiling cables ect. The bike is sorted now and as long as I look after her there will be no major problems.

Hi I have been tasked with sorting out a problem with my nephew's Yamaha XT125R. The problem is, a garage has had a look and didn't fix it and now I have been given the bike plus the bits of clutch in a bag. I think I have found the problem, its the push rod, it seems that the end is broken. Does anyone have a breakdown on how to remove it or a workshop manual I could download. Thanks

I just bought a new bike and its just pissing oil. I want to get a better look and remove the tank. The service manual says turn the fuel cock to on before removing everything. It also says to start the engine and get it warm and doesn't say to turn the engine off. I'm worried about leaking fuel everywhere. Is it simply removing the fuel pipe, vacuum pipe and breather pipe then taking the bolt out and popping the tank off? Do I really leave the fuel cock to ON and disconnect stuff?

Hello I have a Yamaha XJ6N with 33bhp restictor fitted. When I pull the throttle back after changing gear there is a delay before throttle kicks in. At the moment it only seems to happen when bike is cold, once warmed up it's okay. Any help will be much appreciated

Hi, I’ve always fancied an old classic bike. I’ve always liked the look of the old Triumphs, Nortons or the Francis Barnett as rode by Nick in Heartbeat! This is probably what attracted me in part to the Yamaha SR 125 as my first bike. I also notice that many people on here have bikes from ‘73 and so forth. Anyway, I was wondering are these bikes still practical as a main bike, day-to-day ride around, or only really workable as a weekend pleasure bike? Take for example the following bike: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRANCIS-BARNETT-FALCON-199CC-CRACKING-RIDE-PLEASE-WATCH-THE-VIDEO-/321068073640?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item4ac12602a8 Is this something you co…

Decided to get a 125 2T. I really fancy a Cagiva Mito. It will only be used in a weekend through the summer then put into storage. My bike is really slow and I want something a bit faster for me to get used too. I'm going to do my test in the summer. This will give me chance to save enough money to get a 6/12 month old 600.

  16. Hi all, DT was running majorly lean from when I bought it so after a month of riding it melted the exhaust side of the piston, grey/white deposits in the engine etc, needless to say the barrell took a beating, I want to keep the rebuild as cheap as poss so want to rebore. I have found a couple of companies but not sure of the quality of their work.. I have all the ability at work to machine the bore oversize but not to hone it ( don't have a hone big enough ), I also have the ability to measure it all to the Nth degree, which I intend to do after the job is done. I don't mean to sound anal about it but I want to get the job done right because I want the most o…
