Hello there! I recently purchased a Yamaha dt 125 RE 2004, it's been nothing but trouble and all I've done is thrown money at it, it's an amazing bike though regardless I've sorted most of its problems now I'm stumped and was needing some help, the bike never starts very easily and never settled when its idling (revs keep going higher and lower) and just yesterday it feels as if the power band isn't kicking in anymore.. Anybody got any ideas as where to start? Thanks!

Hi, I am a new member and owner of a Yamaha Radian. I am having problems getting the bike to start by using the start switch. I have checked the clutch switch and side stand switch and both seem to be working. I have put a new battery on the bike and can get it started by bridging the positive on the battery and the starter. Any ideas as to why it will not start? I also noticed that the previous owner removed the fuse for the power wires and just wound them together. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks James

  7. Hi all, I have the bike listed above which has the exhaust underneath the bike instead of on the side, but to me it sounds too quiet and a little bit boring! I want to know what I can do to the bike to give it a little bit of growl and louder than my hoover (which is quiet)! I have to bear in mind that it has a throttle restriction to 33bhp, which also includes a restriction in the exhaust too I believe?

  9. just worked mine out, average over 3 years, it's 5K per annum, doesn't seem that much really but I suppose there are substantial periods over the winter when I don't venture out much on the bikes.

Took the bike up to the garage this morning and the gearbox is shagged. He said by the time they removed and split the engine it would be cheaper to put a new one in. I think this is it now, I'm going to carry on riding the bike until it doesn't work at all and then I am bikeless. I had some money saved for a 2T but I have just had my hours cut at work so I used most of that to pay off my credit card. Realistically it will be September when I have a few grand for a new bike, could go down the finance route but things are uncertain at work. On my way home the fucking kickstart fell off ffs. I could curl up in a ball and start crying.

  11. don't agree with this blog. saying its akin to wearing a seat belt WTF? no amount of reflective light emissions is going to stop motorists from seeing you, for one they need to have headlamps on. two they need to actually acknowledge you're there and three seatbelt - sticker, sticker - seatbelt, nope can't see a link read for your self http://getgearedforbikers.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/french-helmets-law-5-things-to-know.html

So I'm getting a 2013 Fazer 8 and it's coming in Matte Grey. Has anyone any experience on if/how you should clean this paintwork? Part of me thinks you shouldn't polish it due to matte not supposed to have any shine, but thought I'd ask... Thanks Dan

Hey lads, My Virago 535 doesn't do more then 100 km/h ( at it is an exact thing, always shots down at this speed) I was suspecting an exhaust restriction but there is nothing in the pipes. I have cleaned the carb and the jets are good size i think. My only other guess is the cdi ignition box ( I think air filter is standard as well) Does anyone know what part number might be printed on a restricted cdi box? If any at all? If the numbers printed actually does not tell about restriction then is there any test to find out whether this is causing the cut off at 100km/h or might be something else ( I can't think of anything else any more but any suggestion is we…

Recently seen a picture of myself on my 98 Divvy 600N and I look like Donkey Kong on a Monkey bike. I need something with a bigger frame at least, gotta be naked too. Really taken with the XJR. Also looking at the CB1300 & ZRX... Neither have to really recent. I'm wondering what else there is out there with similar frame sizes.... Big suzuki's are obviously in there too. Any suggestions peeps? Ta!
