  1. Started by slice,

Ok folks if you will do your best to think what this might be I would be obliged. Took the bike out yesterday ran well and had a lot of fun right up till it started to fart and misfire, checked the plugs (ok) checked fuel lines(ok) was stopped on the side of the road swearing at it and it would not start, then out of nowhere it fired right up but not firing on number 4 cylinder. is it possible for one side of the coil pack to break? Fiddled with the HT cable and found it had a spark but still would not fire so decided to ride it home anyway and sod the damage it might do, half a mile down the road it fired up and went like nothing was wrong, the only other thing I had don…

Bye bye FZ...I do miss you But it had to go, the final straw was changing work locations, twenty plus miles of undulating twisting quiet B roads....just great, fcuking great...but, I was pushing the limits all the time, accelerating out of the corners with the front wheel lifting up a wee bit in a few gears...horsing into corners and locking up the rear a bit while down changing...which sets up the corner for a better exit ...loved it, all the time. The worrying thing is that I was not worried. When it rained I would not take my old hack out, but I would still take the FZ, just for the fun of relativity low speed drifting. All great fun, but not clever, and no…

Chester are now using unmarked Police bikes. This morning I saw a red Honda. Its blues are built into the rear light and the indicators on the fairing.

hi folks, not sure if this is the right room for this question but desperate times call for desperate measures. the time for shipping my XVS1100 from Australia to UK is fast approaching and have just been hit with another documentation request. DVLA say they would like a document to confirm the year of the bike as the VIN plate may not be enough on the off-chance it has been tampered with (it was a private buy so no dealer receipt) and if i cannot produce this "back-up evidence" then i may have to register it as a Q plate. i do have copies of the QLD transport dept paperwork which has the year on it (2006) but am now being told that they dont count as it was me who ha…

I'm not very good at changing all these oils, I'm just making sure that under the kick start (ON A 2 STROKE) there is a little plug sorta thing, do I put gearbox oil in there?

  12. so, not a yamaha, but its still worth asking as all you people are extremely heplfull! basically, the SV i bought is running fine, up untill about 4500-5000rpm, and the one of the cylinders cut out. there was a heap of water in the tank, but thats been drained/cleaned along with all the lines and the carbs, anyone got any ideas as to what to check next? was planning using it this week but since its nae got the same reliability as my yamaha, i decided to take my *caugh* trusty xj *cough* instead. Cheers. Matt

Anyone know if the solenoid from from any other Yamaha will fit this bike.

  16. I have been re...er decorating and upgrading my 83 XT250 and I have found that there are many extra wiring options that I didn't initially take note of...ok I just took the thing apart without taking any notes. So what I need is maybe a picture or two of what its suppose to look like. The bike also didn't come with a speedo, so I have an older speedo attached so the wiring harness for the idiot light don't match up obviously because I don't have the oem speedo. Otherwise I'm having a great time but until I figure this wiring out I cannot ride it. PS I have the Clymer manual and since I'm not an electrical engineer...yet, I need and like pictures, like the books read…

Hey there fellow Yammers. Quicky for you which will probably make me sound a bit daft (I am). I want to change the chain and sprockets on my Thundercat and fancied going down a tooth at the front for obvioius reasons. Thing is, I dont know how many teeth there are to start. Plus when you buy a bike specific kit it would come with the standard sprockets. Any suggestions? Thanks folks, Andy

I recently bought some tools for my DT and I want a bag to strap to the seat, like enduros riders have little bags on the back, anyone know any decent tool bags for under £15. Also how do you put them on do you strap them under your seat or what?

  19. Started by Grouch,

Right folks, just had my bike sorted. The steering was very stiff and dodgy and I thought it was the steering bearings or something. I am such a fucking retard, get to the garage and straight away the guy tells me my front tyre is flat. I didn't even notice. I feel a right idiot. Turns out I had a puncture, so the member who guessed correctly was................. Blackhat250 Well done mate. Round of applause...........................
