I went to see this bike today and I'm considering buying it. Here's the dealer's description: "891cc, . This is probably the best XJ900F that we've ever had........and we've had a few !!! It's covered less than 25000 miles and is in pristine all round condition. It's been fitted with Krauser panniers and top box. The engine and gearbox are warrantied by us for a year, parts and labour. We can arrange delivery.. £2,499" It really is in pristine condition, and the dealer has also offered a 2 year guarantee on the engine and gearbox. I'm relatively new to bikes and would be grateful for any opinions on this model/year and whether you think this is a good deal! …

Is this the last new /unreg Fazer 600 S2. The bike is a 2010 model new and unused. I live in Spain and currently ride a Kawasaki Z1000SX. At 64 the bike is getting to heavy for me now, love it to bits but it has to go. Anyway I was in a dealers the other day looking for a suitable replacement. Nothing took my fancy as I really love the Kwacker. I mentioned to the saleslady (yes)lady I once had a 2005 fazer 600 and loved it. she suggested the FZ8 but I have a limited budget so she did a search on the Yamaha Spain website looking at the Diversion class bikes. I was looking over her shoulder and spotted a naked FZ6 with ABS dated 2010. I pointed to it and asked her about it,…

Advice please went through a lot of woodland today and into swarms of horrible bugs having heard mention of baby wipes on here I stopped to see if I could buy some at a village shop but they only had facial wipes which leave a smeary mark on my visor/headlight afterwards so I bought a household cleaning cloth off the shop and got it wet from a neighbouring filling station and used that what do you do about the dreaded insects?

Last night it (the 83 XJ900) finally started . After sitting for about 10 yrs, it is rough but ran for about 5 minutes while Playing with the idle. Got a miss or two and got spark shooting out of the exhaust which is way to loud (guessing some rust etc). Choke cable was seized solid so thats off for now. Piece by piece....

  12. Having not long passed my test, we (the wife and I) decided to go for a ride out to the south coast. I've a XJ6 'divvie' with touring kit and as the bike juddered on the front I already know that I needed to stiffen the suspension to counteract the extra weight - i mean ballast - i mean balance - OH damn it sorry luv you know what I mean, so i pumped the rear suspension right round to No.7 and it seemed okay to ride Q.1. Is the suspension set on No.7 safe to ride with a pillion as I'm not sure as its all new to me? Now on to the motorway and all was good. I'm still running in so kept it to about 5800 - 6000 revs .... most of the time. Which was fine as I still…

  14. hi folks, not sure if this was the right place (again) so apologies if not. my XVS1100 will be here in a few weeks and as i'm a good citizen i would like to pick up some old stock pipes before i take it to the DVLA to be registered and VOSA tested. only required temporarily (on the offchance someone local has a spare set) because i will off course be replacing them as soon as i'm on the road, needless to say with a government approved exhaust and big baffles to dampen down all that horrible engine noise that could disturb the native hedgehogs & sparrows. best place to find stock pipes or known wreckers yards who deal with yamahas anyone? Grave(ly…

there seems to be a wide variety of views Me for example, not particularly interested in motorbike racing although one of my friends would never miss a race or qualifying session on TV but I am facinated by the IoM TT. Travelling about and socialising must be big reasons, again me for example, I wouldn't visit the vast majority of distant destinations I do if it were a case of using a car, getting a coach, train or bus. a combination of seeing new places plus the pleasure of the journey (absolutely no fun in that with a car). is it the concept of a motorbike for its own sake as a hobby and interest, something to take apart, clean, cherish - as well as bei…
