I've just got back from 2 weeks in Eygpt and apart from the Choggie 125's/250's the most popular bike was the Jawa 350 twin so I guess if we lived there we would be taking the pee out of Jap bikes

Hi all just got my first bike and was looking forward to a days riding. Only one probelem, got to dealers this morning only to find the tax disc hadn't arrive from their other place. They told me its will be OK to ride as if you get stopped the Police can see on their ANPR syetem that the bike's insured and taxed and tell them it's in the post to my house. Just got home to find its not here either, so question is can I ride without the disc on display? Thanks Colin

I have a new R1 (2009) with crossplane - love it - what a machine. However when I start her up she has developed a rattle or series of knocks (guess between 2 and 5 rattles before she settles down)and it is getting worse (slightly). Looks to me like there might be problem in the design/lubrication system. The noise is a dry running 'tappety' sound - like a marble rattling at extreme speed. Anyone know anything about this. We've all been looking for it - a new release normally means the first owners are the trial guinea pigs - anyone else got the same problem? I have found one other mention on a US site: http://forum.motorcycle-usa.com/default.aspx?f=18&m=…

I thought to myself, He's heading for a breakdown. -------------------------------------------------- Bought a Sony Bravia 42 inch LCD TV. Yesterday only £100. Salesman says the volume control is broken. I bought it "Can't really turn it down at that price"

A SENIOR MOMENT - An elderly lady actually wrote this letter to her bank. The bank manager thought it amusing enough to have it published in The Times. Dear Sir am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to pay my plumber last month. By my calculations three 'nanoseconds' must have elapsed between his presenting the cheque and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honour it. I refer of course to the automatic monthly deposit of my Pension arrangement which admittedly has been in place for only thirty eight years. You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity and also for debiting my account £30 by way …

Hi, first of all, I'm not trying to sell here. I own a TTR-125LW and I'm thinking of selling, although I have no idea how much it is worth. It is an 06 model, so that makes it 4 years old, it is kick start, been ridden approximately 10 times in this time. it has a couple of scratches on it but nothing big , has been well looked after (cleaned after every use and serviced several times) It was also purchased brand new. If anyone has a clue of an approximate price that i could sell this bike for in Australia (Perth to be exact) Thank you in advance Oh and hope this is in right section didn't know where else to ask, sorry!

I've had my new xvs 1300 for 6 months now and have found I need more pull back on the the bars. I get a very sore neck from leaning forward to far on long rides. Apparantly the wheel base is nearly 2 inches longer than the 1100. Has anybody found this problem or can anybody recomend a set of bars. Risers are out of the question because of the position of the taco.
