  2. Hey folks! Just wanted to mention that the Market Tavern in Stroud town centre, Gloucestershire is a biker friendly pub! The owner is a biker and the barman is a biker!! Anyway as summer is coming and many people will be out on their bikes!! they cater for any occasion and more importantly welcome anyone who favors 2 wheels over 4! It is an up-market pub with a well sized beer garden that has parking for up to about 30 bikes (I think!!) You could even park outside the front of the pub if you wanted to, However it does get busy from about 9am-2pm on a Saturday. A fantastic stop off point for anyone who wants some good English pub grub! They have rather distu…

hi all i bought my bike only last week and i love it but im stuck because my headlight bulb broke. i removed the screws holding the headlight in place, pulled out the light and removerd the rubber part on the back of the light to access the bulb. once i removed this i seen that the person i bought the bike off had used a wrong bulb and had copper wire jammed in the hole to make the connections so the bulb would work. since then i have ben looking for the right type of bulb i need but i cant seem to find it anywhere. apparently these bulbs are meant to be H4s but the bulb i need is like a bayonet type (like the ones used in the house) but this has 3 prongs rathe…

Hello all, I've just bought myself a cheap run around, it has a custom paint job on the tank.... someone has painted by hand a beautiful lady on the tank of this Yamaha FJ1200 1993. Does anyone know who may have done it (Long shot I know) and has it ever been owned by someone here on the forum.

  7. Right, I'm ready for the insanity to begin!! I have decided to keep the 2 rear side panels, rear one obviously as that's brand new!! and the front mudguard. I have been putting off the paint stripping for the past few weeks as I had no idea what would be good enough for it!! I am unsure of the paint effect I'm going for right now, I want to stick with a similar scheme but with I'm not certain... Metallic Blue flip with white accent? Marble midnight blue with white accent? I'm starting to think Blue to be honest but w/e... Fortunately I found out that there is pretty much the best paint stripper (£2-£3) in the world available at most super markets!! Fairy Power …

I got a text from number 2 son earlier in the week. He said he was looking to do his CBT and get a 125 to commute on. He has had a full car licence for several years but he, and his other half, only have space for one car. He lives in Essex so I pointed him to a CBT centre near him. I thought he planned to take the CBT later in the Month and was still investigating the in's and out's however, he texted me a while ago and said that he had passed the CBT today. He is looking for a 125 supermoto, trials or TW type bike. To be honest I am proud he passed but am worried as a father. A little greedy of me really as I have got so much out of riding. I guess even with kids in …

Im selling my szr660 on ebay and wanted to post it in the 'for sale' section in case anyone was interested. Didnt realise you had to upgrade membership to do this. How do i go about doing this? I clicked on the link given and it took me to a newspage nothing to do with membership? Wouldnt mind being a member as will definitely come back to the yamaha clan in the future.

Hi All, Don't know if you have seen this before but if your trying to identify your engine or frame then this seems the place to look, just type in your numbers or make and model and it tells you approx year of manufacture and the engine size, not a fully comprehensive list but pretty close and it can give you an idea about what your bike started out as. http://merrittmotorcyclesalvage.com/yamahaidentification.htm just follow the link and it's quite straight forward to get all the info your need. Ride safe.

Hi everyone. I am relatively new to this type of forum stuff, so bear with me... I've been reading quite a few topics though, and it seems a great system for sharing ideas and info. My problem / issue is this:- my bike starts fine and goes well, but occasionally, she will simply die in mid-flow... It is as if I have turned the engine off. It's quite like a fuel starvation, but I know fuel tap is on etc... I have noticed that the kill switch on the right handle bar seems dodgy... sometimes works and other times nothing but a click. Then, after a few momoents standing, and several clicks on the kill switch... off she goes again with no problems until the next tim…

Heya folks! I've been looking around for a 1989 DTR wiring loom and I'm starting to think I'm more likely to get shat on by a rocking horse... Managed to find a bike shop locally that could get one in for me at £100 but I'm thinking that sounds rather over-priced? Frasers of Gloucester by the way! They are a little renowned for being overpriced!! As I mentioned before in another post I have an entire loom exluding the L/H switch gear waiting for me, it's £25 but I believe it could be an 1996+ would this be a huge fail if I tried to connect it? I know the bike will pass its MOT without any of the lights as mechanically it's solid.. but to be honest I rea…
