Yes, yes, there are more ways to skin a rabbit, lubing your cables-Yamaha recommends that you lube your bike cables every 4000 miles , and of course most of you will be 'adhering' to your Yamaha owners manuals anyhoo, here's a gadget that some of you might consider adding to your growing arsenal of 'kit', everyone has their own way of doing things-here's just another option available. Its 'medical kit' in essence, so if any Y-O-C members have access to this stuff (Goff its in the operating theatre and accute trauma side of the hospical )- then obviously you can make your own. Its re-usable-should last a lifetime-requires no dismantling of cable …

There have been a couple of postings where members have bought bikes that don't have VIN's or V5's etc. This site gives you some background on how to avoid being ripped off and ending up with a stolen bike, one that has been previously written off or has money owed on it. Hopefully this will be helpfull to members. http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/Insurance/Data-checks.aspx Rocky

What was the result????? I realise I could wait a couple of weeks and watch endless repeats of the show on Dave, but I really can't be bothered with watching Sir Jeremy Clarkson lord Knobhead of wankersville. In the real world the BMW ought to have spanked the car, but as this is Top gear, my guess is that they fixed the race for the car to just win. Am I right?

Hey guys, new to the forum, and I have a question. I'm working on a 2000 WR 400 and it's simply not turning over. I've changed the gas, and spark plug on it (thank you Yamaha for the hardest plug in the world to remove,) but still no fire. Now I know that its getting air, and everything mechanical is working properly because it "turns over" when you kick it. So I'm thinking its electrical. Is there any way for me to check the ignition coil(?)? Some basic info, bikes had one owner, and has mostly storage time. Low low low riding hours sense it was bought. I know its not the best on them, but I've even tried the rolling start for it, and nothing. Any help would be GREATLY a…

"Mira engineers outfitted a Yamaha Tenere and a Triumph Sprint with the safety systems so they could be tried out on a test track. The systems include laser scanners, haptic handles and gloves, a vibrating seat, lights, smart helmet-cameras and radar as well as a pannier full of the electronics that analyse data gathered by the sensors and pump out warnings." http://www.bbc.co.uk...nology-12266406 Interesting read imo.

Hi all, as per my intro post trying to get back into riding again but it has been a few decades since I had to fix them. I recently was given an old 2 stroke 74 TY250 trials bike. It had been sitting in someones shed for a while but done the basic checks, etc and it has been running ok for the last few weeks until now. Now it won't kick over anymore and I can confirm the following... You'll have to excuse my ignorance as It's been a while since ive done this. Got spark (put new spark plug in) spark is good, every kick and looks strong. Petcock is fine, fuel is going into carb, thought I would take the carb off and clean it but when I opened it up I was s…

Hi, Just thought that I would give this a go, just joined the owners club on the advice of a good mate of mine who said that someone could help on here. I'm currently referbing my XVS 650 and working on the back end. I've removed the rear mudguard ok and am trying to take the rear wheel assembly off. Undone all the relevant nuts and bolts as per the haynes bible but then I hit the problem.... the back wheel does not slide out. It is though the splined drive shaft is stuck in the engine end (there is a bit of backlash, between a quarter and half an inch) Please can anybody help?

Hey, I replaced the clutch disks on my 1978 DT125E today and now the clutch doesnt seem to work at all. I can put the bike in any gear when not running with the clutch in but when I release the clutch lever I can still roll the bike around as if the clutch is constantly engaged. I have yet to add oil to the crank case just in case the cover has to come off again. what could be wrong with my bike? I have been restoring this bike to working condition for months as my high school senior project and this is just puzzling, at first the clutch was constantly engaged and now its just the opposite What The Hell! Any help would be fantastic, names Mike by the way.

Hi, i own a 2002 tzr 50 (pre foxeye) and it is a grey import so i struggle to source parts at a reasonable price, and recently a bucket full of decorating bits and bobs fell from the loft of my garage onto my tank and left a very large dint in the petrol tank, i was just wondering if anybody had any clues as to where i can find a new tank or repair the current tank at a reasonable price as i have searched and found nothing under £300, also i was wondering if anybody had any tips as to running it, whether i should leave it standard or source some aftermarket performance parts and any suggestions on oil, im currently running it on silkolene scoot sport but i dont believe th…

in the winter. I don't have a heated garage and it was -8F here last night. That would be -22C to most of you. It doesn't get that much warmer during the day here either. Such lovely weather here in Minnesota.
