Hi All, I have just joined so this is my first post but have a few things I need help with. I have just purchased a 2009 FZ1n my first question is about the ecu mapping I have been told that these machines had problems in the early days with low down torque and were fixed by using a power commander and new exhaust slip mainly on 2006 2007 models, is this the case and has this been fixed on these later models or should I investigate further??????????? Secondly I am looking to buy some parts for the bike for safety and style but could do with some advice on quality price and your own personnel experiance, plus any additional information is always welcomed to improve m…

Hi, having read what some want in a newbie threat I will do my best to post that in here. inches = don't have any location = atm mostly in the garage or the bike wreckers searching for bits and pieces rides = yep have a few of them only 2 run atm the rest are either on the way out the door (the smallest scooter I own Eaglewing 150 trying to find a new home for it) or waiting to be worked on. I just bought a xj 750 that needs a tiny bit of work and as a bonus it came with a second 750 ( this turned out to be a 900 ) for spare parts. Both of those have matching numbers and I will eventually put the 900 on the road too. And somewhere in this whole mess I have a FJ 11…

Hey folks Belated happy new year to everyone! Time to treat the VTR to some new Tyres, need something that's well suited to everyday commuting on rural roads. Currently running Dunlop Sportmax which are good - after they're warm. I prefer something bit more predictable, must be getting old!!! Any recommendations? Budget is a problem as always too. Standard size is 180/55 r17 rear, 120/65 r17 front. Thanks

Good day all. Another forum newbie here. I have a 1300SP XJR awaiting slightly warmer weather and drier roads, but hope to be wearing out plenty of tyres in 2011 both in UK and Europe. Joined to get the usual advice, recommendations, and general banter.

Hello all. I have just bought my first Yamaha, it's a SZR 660 Super single, it's on a P plate with 19K. The engine/gearbox is soundo, but the farrings could do with a spruce up. I have considered a respray, but thought I would see if anyone had a full farring kit going (including fuel tank)? wishful thinking? Let me know what spares you have for this bike, anything will be considered, or direction to where i could locate these bits. Chris

I'm new here, just had a quick look around and decided to join to get some info before i go ahead and buy a bike. I drive a mini at the moment: But i'm after a bike as well so i don't end up spending all my money on my car Plus something to get to work on that doesn't use as much fuel and will be fun in the summer. Been sent in the direction of a DT125 SM, but i really don't no anything about them. Any info would be great, things to look out for etc. Not looking to get a bike license for the moment so just a 125 i can run with a provisional.

Hello. I've done this in the wrong order, my initial post is already done and the intro comes second I joined to answer a question about Puncturesafe, but the Missus has an FZ6 Fazer (I've also had two FZS600 Fazers), so will keep looking in on here from time to time whenever something falls off it, as it's me that ends up doing most of the work on it. Mechanically it's still sound, but it's in a bit of a state cosmetically. She has put 83,000 miles on it since she bought it new in 2005 though, so it's allowed to look a bit tatty round the edges. She uses it as her commuter (she has an '06 Tuono for fun) and takes it from Newbury into central London and back e…

I got a 1978 DT400 E with no spark. When I purchased the bike "a BAD choice" it ran fine. The key switch was missing as well was the kill switch along with all the lights except for the headlight. I just bought the bike to use off road to keep an eye on my son as he learns to ride on his 78 YZ-80. The headlight was smashed and didn't work as well as the speedo or tach. So since I was going to just do off road I removed them. The plug to the headlight would not come off so I cut the wires at the back of the plug. Now this where my memory is foggy. I don't remember if I started the bike after this or not. So I took all the wires between the forks and made sure they were all…

Hello all, after coming back here and sapping tips and information out of all of you I figure I owe you an introduction. My name's Cameron, I'm from New Brunswick, Canada and I'm trying to juggle school and hobbies. I bought a 79' DT 175 in December in hopes of restoring it to something road worthy, it's going slowly but things are starting to pick up again. I've yet to ride a bike at all and still haven't got my licence but now know a fair amount about my DT This forums helped me a ton with my build already and I'm sure will continue to be a great help down the road!
