I am the proud owner of a 77 dt250. Ground up. All seals replaced in the engine. Wiesco 1mm over piston and rings. Boyensen reed valves. New points and condensor. Spent countless hours getting the timing right. It has a horrible mid range miss. Plug is dark black carbon. Stock jetting in carb. Float is set correctly. Starts like a champ first kick. Excellent compression. Dialed the injection pump back a little from factory recommended. Using Mobil 1 synthetic 2 cycle. Any thoughts? Some smoking at idle. Not a fogging but noticeable. Just sputters at a steady throttle.

Hi all, many moons ago i cut my teeth on an 88 genisis thou, it has always had a special place in my bike memories, and last week the gods of two wheels saw fit to put a 1990 fzr 1000 in my path for the sum of 300 sheets. I kind of knew we were destined to spend a long time in the shed together from the phone call, but she's now in my van,in more pieces than i can count along with a new akropovic race can as the pipes are more than a little shagged. I work away from home most of the time so this is going to be a long rebuild it's gonna need a lot of time and lovin to get this bike back to the brute it once was but i'm meticulous and determined and can't wait to start.the …

I'm new to motorised 2 wheels and have recently acquired a YBR 125 custom to practice on before I go for Direct Access. The only thing that bugs me is the poor rear vision from my miirrors. Now you may say that its because the YBR is naff or its because I'm not used to cycle mirrors but I dont think the view is good at all. I can see well to the rear left and rear right but if the mirrors were a little longer I'm sure the rear view would be better. Is there anything I can do to improve this? thanks

Hi Guys, I'm new here. Just wondering if someone can help me out, I have a 2011 Yamaha XT 125 X & have a problem with it, When the engine is warm & you leave it for say 10 seconds, then give it a little blip on the throttle, the revs suddenly drop & sometimes it even cuts out, When I bought it new, It was running very weak, So I richened it up & seems to run smoother, But have had this problem with it since new. I have only done 700 miles on it, I have turned the mixture screw again even further out, But still seems weak, The screw is now fully turned out, I'm thinking it needs a bigger pilot jet in, (As it is a tickover/bottom end related issu…

Hi I am a new here and a new rider and a new yamaha owner. I just bought my first bike couple of days ago and while I waited for the insurance documents to arrive, I noticed that the tyre pressure in the rear tyre has gone down. The tyre is not flat, but it isn't inflated as the front tyre either? I don't have an air pump. What should I do? - walk the bike to the petrol station 0.4 miles away to check if it's a puncture or just the air leaked out. If so, how and where should I walk the bike? sidewalk or on-road? Do I need to be wearing a helmet while walking the bike? - since I haven't got the insurance documents yet, I don't have a 'breakdown cover' …

  17. Hey folks. I’m just getting myself back into biking and have bought a DT125R (2001) to start off. The bike has been stripped of all road parts for full time off road use. When I bought it I was told the power valve does not open/close, and has been set mid way. Apparently this is because some part of the electrics &/or the battery has been removed (there is no battery). When I first got the bike this was fine, but now I would like more low/high range power to do jumps etc. Can anyone help me restore the power valve to open and close automatically as it should? Any help/advice appreciated
