Hi, Im not new to biking but am new to owning a yamaha and am trying to do a bit of research about my bike hoping there is someone out there who has the knowledge i need to aquire. Basicly I have managed to get my hands on TZR 125 R Belgarda 4DL, although mechanically its sound as a pound ( after a bit of TLC and some minor parts) however cosmetically there are a few odds and sods to sort out, the worst being my extremely rusty swing arm, its only surface rust an can be prepped and painted but I was looking on ebay (as I tend to do as i like to keep an eye out for the rarer parts you never know when you may need them) and noticed a few swing arms on there most of which …

This idiot weaved through traffic on a Vancouver Island freeway doing 300/ k/h. If he had even made a minor error in timing or if a vehicle had changed lanes there would have been one hell of a pile up. The cops have tracked down the bike which had no plates or insurance when the video was made. It is owned by a woman who has had numerous driving infractions and has lost her licence in the past. They believe the bike was driven by her son who also has had numerous traffic violations including driving without a license and driving at excessive speeds. They have impounded the bike and given the mother a pile of tickets totaling in excess of $1400 because she owns the b…

Just picked up a 2012 WR450F on saturday. Everything about the bike is perfect besides the fact i can barley touch the ground im like 5'7". I adjusted the sag enough to where i can side saddle it but thats not going to work very well when im flying through the trails and i come to a sudden stop or im slowly creeping. Is there anyway of lowering it besides a yamalink lowering link? I cant adjust the triple clamp at all. any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi, I have a yamaha aerox YQ50, when i bought it, it has a standard exhaust on it, a few weeks later the exhaust blew and i had it replaced for a Leo Vince TT. Since then the bike has had a problem, when I slow down and get to around 5-10mph and accelerate again, the bike will bog down for about 20 seconds until it shoots off again, I have had the bike in the garage and the following had been checked: > Clutch and variation has been stripped, cleaned and checked > New rollers as the ones that came with my Leo Vince TT where not compatible with my bike > Throttle and Carb had been tuned and cleaned > The spark plug has been changed The mec…

Ive had this bike nearly two years. A couple of weeks ago the piston rings broke in it. Replaced the piston, rings and gaskets and cleaned the barrel out which hadnt been damaged. yesterday took her out to make sure she was running right and kept the revs and speed down for about 30 miles to get her run in, then reved her up and when she hit 8 thousand rpm she stalled herself but kept rolling. she started easily and away she went a while later she went over 8rpm but stalled again when she dropped back under 8thousand. she started again easily and when she hit 9 and a half thousand rpm i slacked off the throttle and she stalled and locked the back wheel throwing the back e…

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows what amp fuse a 1995 sr125 needs? I've got a manual, but it's for 97-03, and that says 20amps. The fuse I've got in mine is 15amps. What difference would this make? Also, the manual says there should be a thermo switch located next to the battery, but all I've got on mine is an empty plug with no switch. Cheers, Dave

Hi folks, So I'm a bit of a novice on this... I want to fit a power outlet on my XJ600. Do I need to fit it directly to the battery or to the ignition? I think I could figure the first one out but otherwise I'd need some help. Cheers, Ed

Newbie here, recently got XT125R to commute to work. It has Arrow exhaust fitted and sounds really nice but whoever has fitted it its not professionally done. Its pipe has white coloured cracked sealant where exhaust joins the head and looks like not sealed properly. Anyway I have two problems they could be related but not sure. First there is engine oil leak which seems to be everywhere in the engine area. Everything has black moisture and seems to be wet. A few drop will be on the floor if I leave my bike for sometime. Unable to find origin of leak. Can a badly fitted exhaust leak oil, I am not a mechanic, always thought exhaust won't have any form of oil whatsoever,…

Hi all, had my R1 for a year now and it's due a MOT and want to get her serviced at the same time, so can anyone recommend a good garage to get it done. Reason for asking is that I took my Thundercat to a place in Plymouth end of last year for a major service and it's not run the same since they had it. I've even had to go back there twice because it was missing and kept on dying at the lights.

This is my first post, and I'm hoping somebody can help me out. I just picked up a 79 XS750SF. Bike looks like it was well maintained, but when I started it up, gas started pouring out of the air box after a few min. Thinking that it was a stuck float, I pulled the carbs off, cleaned them completely, and put everything back together. When I started the bike again, gas started leaking from the air box again. The only thing I can think of is that I may have been running the bike with the petcock on PRI. I've never had a bike with a "prime" setting on the petcock, so I was unfamiliar with what that setting was. Could this have been my problem?

Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone keeps an ICE ( Incase of Emergency ) number stored in there phone, or a tag or something in there pocked with next of kin details ect. stopped for fuel today and got speaking to another biker, he was wearing a High Vis vest over his leathers with his name on the back of it, and the words " ICE Details Located on Right Pocket Zip" and he had like a security pass/id holder on his jacked pocket and a card with all his details and stuff on it. Seems like a good idea, and i do usually wear my high vis when riding at night and for long distances in "normal" scottish weather - rain, snow, fog, low cloud haha. Whats everyones thoughts…

Started to fiddle around and arrival of the Haynes manual gets me very excited. 1. Every fastener is rusted/rounded. Excellentey. 2. Removed the tank so I could, er, clean underneath. All went well, especially as two of the mounting bolts were missing. Trouble is the H manual says to disconect the breather hose - but there's no sign of it. I have the speedo cable and the instrument wiring coming up but no breather hose. Am I missing something here or do models vary? Cheers.

New to motorcycles, but i did notice the brand new spark plugs get super black after a quick ride, which i assume causing a misfire for the right side, so my question was how to get it back to norm or make it run leaner, or what the problem is at all , thanks

Hello Yamaha riders ! I'm 18 years old and I really want a motorcycle. I live in Belgium, and in January 2013 they will change the motorcycle license system: If you are under 24, you have to start for 2 years on a 125 cc motorcycle. I really like the looks of the YBR 125, I've already heard its a good motorcycle but I have some questions about the speed.. I will have to do a dual carriageway where the speed limit is 55 mph ( when there is a lot of traffic, in rush hour, its mostly around 50 - 45 mph) to get to school. My question is, will the YBR be able to do these kind of roads? It's only for 12 miles. I heard from some people it's top speed is only 60…
