Hi folks, So I'm a bit of a novice on this... I want to fit a power outlet on my XJ600. Do I need to fit it directly to the battery or to the ignition? I think I could figure the first one out but otherwise I'd need some help. Cheers, Ed

Newbie here, recently got XT125R to commute to work. It has Arrow exhaust fitted and sounds really nice but whoever has fitted it its not professionally done. Its pipe has white coloured cracked sealant where exhaust joins the head and looks like not sealed properly. Anyway I have two problems they could be related but not sure. First there is engine oil leak which seems to be everywhere in the engine area. Everything has black moisture and seems to be wet. A few drop will be on the floor if I leave my bike for sometime. Unable to find origin of leak. Can a badly fitted exhaust leak oil, I am not a mechanic, always thought exhaust won't have any form of oil whatsoever,…

  7. Hi all, had my R1 for a year now and it's due a MOT and want to get her serviced at the same time, so can anyone recommend a good garage to get it done. Reason for asking is that I took my Thundercat to a place in Plymouth end of last year for a major service and it's not run the same since they had it. I've even had to go back there twice because it was missing and kept on dying at the lights.

  8. This is my first post, and I'm hoping somebody can help me out. I just picked up a 79 XS750SF. Bike looks like it was well maintained, but when I started it up, gas started pouring out of the air box after a few min. Thinking that it was a stuck float, I pulled the carbs off, cleaned them completely, and put everything back together. When I started the bike again, gas started leaking from the air box again. The only thing I can think of is that I may have been running the bike with the petcock on PRI. I've never had a bike with a "prime" setting on the petcock, so I was unfamiliar with what that setting was. Could this have been my problem?

Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone keeps an ICE ( Incase of Emergency ) number stored in there phone, or a tag or something in there pocked with next of kin details ect. stopped for fuel today and got speaking to another biker, he was wearing a High Vis vest over his leathers with his name on the back of it, and the words " ICE Details Located on Right Pocket Zip" and he had like a security pass/id holder on his jacked pocket and a card with all his details and stuff on it. Seems like a good idea, and i do usually wear my high vis when riding at night and for long distances in "normal" scottish weather - rain, snow, fog, low cloud haha. Whats everyones thoughts…

Started to fiddle around and arrival of the Haynes manual gets me very excited. 1. Every fastener is rusted/rounded. Excellentey. 2. Removed the tank so I could, er, clean underneath. All went well, especially as two of the mounting bolts were missing. Trouble is the H manual says to disconect the breather hose - but there's no sign of it. I have the speedo cable and the instrument wiring coming up but no breather hose. Am I missing something here or do models vary? Cheers.

  12. New to motorcycles, but i did notice the brand new spark plugs get super black after a quick ride, which i assume causing a misfire for the right side, so my question was how to get it back to norm or make it run leaner, or what the problem is at all , thanks

Hello Yamaha riders ! I'm 18 years old and I really want a motorcycle. I live in Belgium, and in January 2013 they will change the motorcycle license system: If you are under 24, you have to start for 2 years on a 125 cc motorcycle. I really like the looks of the YBR 125, I've already heard its a good motorcycle but I have some questions about the speed.. I will have to do a dual carriageway where the speed limit is 55 mph ( when there is a lot of traffic, in rush hour, its mostly around 50 - 45 mph) to get to school. My question is, will the YBR be able to do these kind of roads? It's only for 12 miles. I heard from some people it's top speed is only 60…

This is one for the year round folk, i have said before about the suzuki i used to own. Well it dumped its rider on the road over the weekend nobody and nothing else envolved, totally alone on the road, cause? A front brake pad. Yep, thats it. Corrosion had got behind the pad material and then, heat expansion maybe? something caused it to crack. Therafter a chunk came away and locked the front solid. Thankfully at about 15mph. The offending bits came out while stripping the front. This i'm told produced a near vertical, anal clamping stoppie. Dumping my mate (thankfully in full kit) over the bars on the ground doing his ankle, then drops back to earth and poli…

Hello everybody hope you're all good So my cooler pipe is leaking and I have seen some posts saying to cut off the pipes and replace them with hoses and jubilee clips and am hoping to go to my brothers place at the weekend and give it a go (he got the mechanical hands and I only got the good looks you see ) But does anyone know where I can get the hoses, oil filter etc anywhere in central London? Also is chopping the pipes the only way to do it or does anyone have an alternative please? I'd really appreciate any pointers in the right direction Cheers Paul

Hey Guys and Gals, Bit of a weird one but what kind of dog/s do you have (if you own a dog) just that im in the market for one and cant make up my mind which i want to adopt. I wanna get a rescue dog as i want to give one a better life/home than they previously had. The ones i found so far i like are: German shepherd (a big possibility) Collie (not 100% sure yet) Inuit (would love one) Husky (again would love one but very high maintenance) Lurcher (missus hates them) Rotty (missus is scared of them) I want a big dog because over the past few months there has been a spat of burglaries in my area and about 4 nights ago my front door…

Hi Everyone, I'm new here and really writing on behalf of my Dad. My Dad has a pretty mint 1980 250 XT. It runs like a dream and I have ridden it for years myself and my Dad has had it from new apart from when his mate had it for a few years and it came back to him. The only non-original part is the Micron Exhaust he has on it......original gold rims... The works.... It has lived its whole life being kept in the garage so never stored outside. Now my question is to what we do with it. I think my dad has had enough of it and it's time to move on but what is the best place for it to go? What's it worth and is it worth of some showroom or collectors place? …
