Hello again, Some may remember me and that ages ago i had a MT03 as my first proper bike at 17 well 3 years on and im now 20 and have been bike less for 7 months and having serious withdrawal symptoms after selling my Su*uki sv650 street fighter and buying a gas guzzling car (for sale if any one's interested in an abarth) . so after getting qualified as a Motorsport tech and then getting a job as a damper tech for no other than Ohlins (BG motorsport silverstone) i will be buying a 2007+ FZ1 once i have sold the car, and got my other car working again Just though i would drop in and say hello as more than likely i will be frequenting the forum and picking b…

I took the front L-Plate of my bike because it looked proper wank. The guy who owned the bike before me did a really shit job of putting it on. Now my XT 125 looks a lot better without it off, so I have decided to keep it off. I just carry brand new L-Plates in the packet on me, so if the Police pull me I can just say I'm about to put them on. Also I feel like a knob with L-Plates on.

Hi, I just took my mod 1 on a dragstar 125cc yesterday and failed :S the instructor said my handling for manoeuvres like u-turn, slalom etc was faultless but because I couldn't get my bike upto speed through the speed trap (minimum 32mph), I couldn't do the swerve or emergency stop exercises. Any advice on how to achieve this speed on my type of bike? I felt like I was going as fast as I could reasonably go when going around the circuit bend, the max speed I achieved was 28mph

Hi, I got free gloves thrown in with the deal on my bike. They seem ok, but I am suffering from numb fingers in the morning - espcially the 2nd and 3rd finger on the right hand. Would investing in a decent pair of gloves prevent this, or could I be holding the handlebar grips incorrectly? Sorry if this seems obvious, just wondering.

Ordered a pair of boots of the internet and they don't fit :-( They are UK size 8 and I can't get them done up around me legs. It's now the seconds pair I have tried :-( I have no idea either if I have wide feet - 9.5cm width so quite confused where to go next. Not looking for anything expensive, just want something under £100, that I can use for commuting and walking around the shops etc. Help

Hi peeps the title explains the thread, seeing as how engine layout seems to give the biggest difference in power/torque and general riding style, if you could have only one bike what layout would you want it to have?

Ok so I admit it I am an old fart who when he wants to make a call used to look for a red phone box on the side of the road. Now apparently you can use one if these magical mobile jobbies that also wipes your arse and makes the tea (not in that order I hope) anyway got a new(ish) phone and it has this bluetooth thing and I was wondering if anybody on here might have some (clean) suggestions as to which B/tooth headset might be best to use on an OLD XJ 750 that makes more noise than a tractor at about 60MPH, my lid is ok and quite sound proof apart from the odd whistle from the wind now and then, it is a tight fit (no good slopping about is it) so I imagine that the head s…

Discovered last week that my exhaust had developed a slight leak at one of the small pipes on the bottom right. Attempted to seal it with Radweld which was a glorious failure. It really needs brazing but finding and then getting the work done by a radiator repairer would cost money including the cost of getting the radiator to the shop and it's return. Other options considered included a second hand radiator from ebay or a breaker but the same problem remains. These radiators are about 8 - 10 years old and may be in no better nick than the one I already have so possibly a pointless exercise. Another option is a new pattern radiator which comes in at about £120 and would b…

I'm disappointed you haven't wished me a happy birthday. I've had a fantastic day out, my lad took me to Fulham to see them beat Wigan. Called in to weatherspoons in Baker Street for a drink and meal. Got train home and here I am having a winge because nobody loves me. (even when I was at school my mum used to wrap my sandwiches up in a road map) Not bad for my age though, still making love at 63, My wife's not to happy because we live at No. 25.

Hi All I have not long bought myself a 2009 YBR and I had read that the headlights are not very good on the bike. I looked for alternatives to the HiD conversion and was told to try some osram night breakers or riders so i opted for the night riders. They came today (and I might be being a bit thick here) they have a totally different fitting to the ones in the bike. I was lead to believe it was a straight swap over from the standard to the night riders. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this sounds pathetic but i have just blown my last 12 quid on these bulbs and as they are from ebay I doubt I'll have much look returning them. Thanks

Hi, Im not new to biking but am new to owning a yamaha and am trying to do a bit of research about my bike hoping there is someone out there who has the knowledge i need to aquire. Basicly I have managed to get my hands on TZR 125 R Belgarda 4DL, although mechanically its sound as a pound ( after a bit of TLC and some minor parts) however cosmetically there are a few odds and sods to sort out, the worst being my extremely rusty swing arm, its only surface rust an can be prepped and painted but I was looking on ebay (as I tend to do as i like to keep an eye out for the rarer parts you never know when you may need them) and noticed a few swing arms on there most of which …

This idiot weaved through traffic on a Vancouver Island freeway doing 300/ k/h. If he had even made a minor error in timing or if a vehicle had changed lanes there would have been one hell of a pile up. The cops have tracked down the bike which had no plates or insurance when the video was made. It is owned by a woman who has had numerous driving infractions and has lost her licence in the past. They believe the bike was driven by her son who also has had numerous traffic violations including driving without a license and driving at excessive speeds. They have impounded the bike and given the mother a pile of tickets totaling in excess of $1400 because she owns the b…

Just picked up a 2012 WR450F on saturday. Everything about the bike is perfect besides the fact i can barley touch the ground im like 5'7". I adjusted the sag enough to where i can side saddle it but thats not going to work very well when im flying through the trails and i come to a sudden stop or im slowly creeping. Is there anyway of lowering it besides a yamalink lowering link? I cant adjust the triple clamp at all. any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi, I have a yamaha aerox YQ50, when i bought it, it has a standard exhaust on it, a few weeks later the exhaust blew and i had it replaced for a Leo Vince TT. Since then the bike has had a problem, when I slow down and get to around 5-10mph and accelerate again, the bike will bog down for about 20 seconds until it shoots off again, I have had the bike in the garage and the following had been checked: > Clutch and variation has been stripped, cleaned and checked > New rollers as the ones that came with my Leo Vince TT where not compatible with my bike > Throttle and Carb had been tuned and cleaned > The spark plug has been changed The mec…

Ive had this bike nearly two years. A couple of weeks ago the piston rings broke in it. Replaced the piston, rings and gaskets and cleaned the barrel out which hadnt been damaged. yesterday took her out to make sure she was running right and kept the revs and speed down for about 30 miles to get her run in, then reved her up and when she hit 8 thousand rpm she stalled herself but kept rolling. she started easily and away she went a while later she went over 8rpm but stalled again when she dropped back under 8thousand. she started again easily and when she hit 9 and a half thousand rpm i slacked off the throttle and she stalled and locked the back wheel throwing the back e…

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows what amp fuse a 1995 sr125 needs? I've got a manual, but it's for 97-03, and that says 20amps. The fuse I've got in mine is 15amps. What difference would this make? Also, the manual says there should be a thermo switch located next to the battery, but all I've got on mine is an empty plug with no switch. Cheers, Dave
