Hi, right bike decisions. I've just been looking over Australian super sport bike sales and Yamaha are in 3rd place. Lagging behind both Honda and Suzuki. 1) Honda CBR1000RR - 295 sold 2) Suzuki GSX-R1000 - 233 sold 3) Yamaha YZF-R1 - 184 sold Have any of you riden the competitors bikes and what are your thoughts? They're all great looking bikes, but the R1 still does it for me. If you were/are in the market for superbike What would make you choose the R1 over the others?

While I was out yesterday I saw a young lad come off his scooter. Somehow some gravel had got on the road and he slipped on it. It was a busy main road and I was the only one to stop and help him. The lad was fine he just scratched and scuffed his scooter, I can't believe loads of people just drove past and left him.

Coming home from work last Tuesday I found it very difficult to change gear, more down than up. Luckily I managed to go through town in second/third gear without stopping. Thursday night I removed the clutch cover after hearing a very weird noise from that area. The problem was the clutch release bearing which is about the size and thickness of a flat washer. I did have this problem about three years ago shortly after buying the bike and left it to the dealer who sold me the bike and they charged me £187.00. It took me 1.1/2 hours to do it myself and cost me £10.00. There are two issues here. Is the thrust bearing up to the job? Did the Yamaha dealer rip me…

Hello new here and if possible I would like your thoughts on the xmax 125 scooter, as I may be getting one of these next week if my girlfriend has anything to do with it. Since last thursday (19th) the funds have been available for a new/secondhand 125 scooter, and my girlfriend is taken with the xmax/xmax sport. My questions are this, there is not much difference that I can see between them bar for a back rest and smaller screen, plus the fact that the sport is a couple of hundred pound dearer. Am I correct or just looking for reasons to pick? Secondly and more important is reliability I really want to know that if I get one that it will last, as I need it for the com…

I mentioned in my intro that yesterday I became the owner of a Oct'2011 Yamaha 125 YBR (EFI). Back in the 90's I had a 50cc Yamaha FS1E to get me to work/college and back. I am so far really impressed with with my purchase and very pleased with the Yamaha Dealer in Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire.

hey guys i gotta 1977 yamaha DOHC 500 twin motorcycle and its in mint condition! has about 5000 miles. the tank has a nasty dint and i dont know if you can pop that out or something but the motor is stuck solid. ive tried everything, diesel was just a joke, sea foam didnt do anything, ive even tried CLR but nothing, brake fluid trans fluid did nothing aswell. its a good bike but it was sitting in a shop for 30 years. ive heard steam works because the metal will expand and break away from whatever is making it stick. if you guys have any suggestions please let me know! thanks!

This Polish guy didn't see me at a junction and clipped me. Luckily I was unhurt, but his bumper and grill are badly damaged. I can't believe the amount of damage my bike caused to his car, when my bike hasn't a scratch on it. I think it would be a different story if I was on a sports bike and not a supermoto. The rear footpeg saved me! It has been annoying me for months because it keeps falling down when I fold it up. It saved my leg from being crushed.

I can't get my bike started anymore. Yesterday afternoon it started up but I had to keep it alive with the choke. Does anyone know what could be the problem? I'm fairly new at motorcycles

So first of all, let me tell you the story. This last week I received three bikes from a friend, the deal was that if i fix his I get to keep the other two. (we had done the same deal except i got a truck for fixing two other bikes) the main problem on any of his vehicles is he uses them, the tags expire, and they sit, and sit, and sit... so naturally there is A LOT of varnish in the carbs and gas tanks, which is no problem, a few hours a piece and you've got them running. This time is different. The bikes i received are as follows 1980 Yamaha 400 Special II (blue) 1980/1981? (the bikes are essentially the same, just a little different on certain parts) Yamaha 4…

Hi there I brought a Yamaha YBR 125 new on friday. I was wondering about the running in of it as was told to stick at 5,000 revs and is harder than it seems! I did about 60 miles on it then started going up 7,000 revs and bike felt fine even at its top speed its seems fine!!! even managed to keep up with a pack up superbikes for a journey back to my home town... I have 170 miles on the clock at the moment I know they say keep at 5000 for 100 miles then rev to 6000 to clean the injects but they say to stick to 5000 as temperature treatment with the engine where it needs to get used to being started up regularly otherwise the metal can get defects or the pumps need r…

Hi, I need a bit of help or advise with my Yamaha YBR125 as I have a small problem with either the clutch or gearbox. The problem is when i shift up or down some times the bike seems to slip into neutral and the revs shoot up, I then struggle trying to get it back into gear as it refuses to click and acknowledge a gear and seems to stay in this false neutral for a bit, usually it clicks out after a bit and jumps into gear but on some occasions I have to pull over and stall and bump start it. Can someone please give me a bit of advise or support as I am a learner and Im not sure whether it is me doing something wrong or the bike is damaged. Thanks.

hey guys! i really need help with my 1977 yamaha dt 175! whats going on is the the higher you go up in the gears the slower it gets, 1 and second arnt bad but 3 it kinda flutters and wont have a normal rev to get into the next gear. ive had the carb apart myself and cleaned it out, then i took it to a so called "mechanic" and soaked me for 188 bucks, he said that the rubber between the carb and the air filter had a hole and was sucking in dust, so he put a new rubber on and it still does the same thing! after i got it back from this mechanic it was really bad, the thing would be hard starting and would flutter really bad. then it quit on me 5 miles away from home and i ha…
