Anyone know of any viable replacements for 78 XS 400 forks? The cheaper the better... The ones on the bike have seen about 30 years of neglect and rust. Inner for tube is rusted and pitted. Lowers are corroded, springs are shot and seals are blown out.

Today I've received a recorded delivery letter, to come and collect my bike from a recovery centre after it's been abandoned/recovered, if I didn't it would be scrapped in 7 days. This seemed a little odd to me as the bike was stolen a month ago. It was stolen from my driveway, on a quiet cul-de-sac, with a camera on it, and a disc lock on the front wheel. Clearly not enough so it's replacement now has an alarm and anchored chain through the rear wheel as well. The video of the theft, under a minute. Rather than contact the recovery company on getting this letter, I contacted the police first to tell them the recovery company had it. Apparently it was involve…

For some reason the you-ya-tube link isn't working on the Busters site, so type electropodes into you-ya-tube to see these, and they're down to a fiver (£5) for a pair http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?clearance=1&catRef=MTXLEDBPR&kw=mtxledbpr&utm_source=email&utm_medium=288&utm_campaign=288

Hi guys! I am new in this forum and I must say I've learned a lot from the world of motorcycles. I'm here also to really search into the Yamaha Raptor 250R. It is an ATV, but I know this part is still with the motorcycles. Thanks and hope I can enjoy my stay here!

Help me before I torch my scooter!! 57 plated T Max XP500 with 4500 miles on clock, well looked after never abused. Problems started about 6 weeks ago. Stopped after 12 mile journey. Attempted to start about 90mins later, failed to fire! Thought may have flooded but started about an hour later. Used again daily until the same problem only this time left it for 2 hours before starts first time. I've changed oil, filters, put in iridium plugs (old ones were perfect)sprayed electrical contacts with WD40 but problem persists. Not usable now as unreliable and its killing me. Any ideas??

iv come on here to have a rant and to vent my frustration and anger!!!!!!! iv got a sachs roadster 125 which uses the virago 125 engine, about a year ago the piston rings went after i spent £300 for new exhausts, tiers, chain and sprockets. so this year i thought right im gonna get it sorted! i started work last week, spent 2 days stripping the engine and changing the pistons, put it back together and then the cam timing sprocket went so i had to get a new one of them and also the rear exhaust which cost me £110, put it back together to find the pistons were knocking against the valves ( i put some spare dragstar 125 pistons in ) so i thought right im gonna put the dragst…

Getting cold here now and I've been looking for a good pair of winter gloves with no success. My main problem is that my hand is too big. I read a few posts on the the forum and looked at Weise gloves online. On their sizing I'm a 5XL and their only glove in that size is the "City Glove". At what looks a pretty good price inc. postage to Australia it's tempting. Any thoughts on this appreciated as I don't think Weise is available anywhere here. Anyone with big hands who rides in the snow? Thanks Gordo

Understanding the "Wheelie" . First we can start with the picture I created using my image creation software ... . . A wheelie is in racing torque wasted lifting the front end - Rather than moving the vehicle forward - occuring due to extreme torque being applied to the rear wheel. For Our Example - The distance between the centers of the wheels of a motorcycle is 155 cm - The center of mass of the motorcycle, including the racer is 88.0 cm above the ground - slightly forward of directly between the wheels - due to the weight / placement of the motorcycles engine - Thus our question is - where does the horizontal acceleration of the motorcycle o…

My wife convinced me to get rid of my Sportster 1200C two years ago as it was not comfortable enough to tour on. I have now convinced her to let me have another bike but it needs to comfy. I am interested in the Yamaha range and I do like the look of the 950 but is it powerful enough for two up touring when fully kitted out? How does the 950 compare against the 1200 Harley or is more comparable to the 883?
