Yamaha unveiled the 2010 livery for its YZR-M1 MotoGP race bike ahead of the pre-season test in Malaysia. The 2009 MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi and runner-up Jorge Lorenzo are back on the track at the Sepang Circuit ready to continue their success in 2010. “2009 was the most successful year for Yamaha’s racing activities for many years. It will be difficult to follow such a performance but we are intending to try!” says Lin Jarvis, managing director of Yamaha Motor Racing. “We are lucky to have the same fantastic rider line-up with Valentino and Jorge and we are looking forward to getting started with our work on track.” For 2010, team engineers worked at improv…

Well, I came off my bike the other day (Gutted, Id only had it 2 weeks) Must have slipped on some oil or something. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a guide (Dont have a haynes manual yet ) for fitting a front brake lever to an 05 YBR 125 (Was one of the first things to hit the floor so that snapped half of it off) (Not sure if this is within rules or not) Also, if anyone has a RH Front indicator they could sell me, that would be greatly appreciated Cheers guys.

After pictures of the upcoming Yamaha FZ8 were leaked onto the Internet, the Japanese manufacturer responded by releasing the first official image of the streetbike. Based on the FZ1, the 2010 Yamaha FZ8 is expected to launch in the summer as a replacement for the FZ6. Prior to the leak, Yamaha had released teaser images of both the FZ8 and its faired version, the Fazer8, also known as the FZ8R. The teaser image for the Fazer8 features a twin headlight front that looks more like the R1 than the FZ8 and its stacked headlights. http://xs.to/share-CE1E_4B613057.html Yamaha is expected to release further details on the FZ8 in March. There’s also no word about whethe…

hi everyone. ive been toying with a little thought for a while now, its quite a crazy idea but i'd like to see how it goes nonetheless... i'd like to go touring on my little Yammy DT50, which is a completely stupid idea but why not give it a try? its got a nice comfy seat, tough as nails and is cheap to run. anyway, was thinking Rep. Ireland as i've always wanted to go there and see the local heritage and landscape and ferries leave regularly from liverpool (that would be the longest haul, from Newbury to Liverpool) and then travel from Dublin, down along the eastern coast to Killarney, then cut back through ireland traveling inland toward Dublin i wa…

I'm thinking it's time to do away with the the Custom 650 Dragstar, and the only bike that's really taking my fancy is the 950... Slight problem is - I don't fancy spending £7000 without taking a test ride, but I can't find anywhere that's demo'ing one. So, if you own one - can you give me any reasons I might not want one?? so far I've only got: - I'd rather have foot pegs rather than footboards... How are they in the wet? Can you throw them around as much as you could the 650?? Done any mods? (Santa might need a little financial help this year...)

  10. Started by Old Dog,

I have just read a post asking for help with a Blackbird. Well here is another one. My Blackbird which I need to sell to pay for the dragstar has a little problem. I have it on an optimiser which charges up the battery which is new to replace the old battery as I thought it was faulty when I had stopped the bike abd it wouldent start again. I rode the bike the other weekend and stalled the bike and it refused to start so I guess it is not being charged. Can anyone give me any pointers as to what I need to check? Thanks in advance for your help.

Is it just me that has problems with traffic lights not changing for me while im out on my DT, usually early mornings or late at night? It happens allot at many different junctions around my local area. Is there something I'm missing like road positioning, arm waving or some other not too obvious trick to get the damn things to change! I had to watch the sequence go through no less than 5 changes last night without letting me through Any help appreciated Vez

I am the new and present owner of a yamaha RD250LC with matching frame/engine numbers 4L1-501558. ( 1980ish production?) Unfortunately I do not having any other identification which would enable me to register/ apply for V5 in the UK. I suspect that the machine may have been destined for the Holland market as the previous owner told me this and the odometer is "Km". I would be grateful if you could advise me the date of manufacture and how I would be able to obtain a dating certificate thanks Stavros

FOUND THIS ON ANOTHER FORUM WHAT DO YOU THINK Motorcyclists Not Budgeted For Say bmf Angered that under the Chancellor’s recent pre-budget report, road tax rates for motorcycles are set to increase this year, the British Motorcyclists Federation have set up a petition on the No 10 website asking the Prime Minister to intervene and stop the increases. The bmf say that at a time of economic hardship and when sales of motorcycles are already down some 27% year on year, it makes no sense for any government to increase taxes on motorcycle ownership. Unlike the car world where motorists and the motoring industry have benefited from the car scrappage scheme, conversely…
