I currently ride a 2008 yamaha stratoliner midnight 1900. Ever since I took out my bike this season, I've been getting 48-50 mpg which is crazy. Last year I averaged 42-44. I then noticed that my trip meter would always have more mileage on each ride than my riding buddys trip meters. We then compared speeds. At the same speed, my buddys speedometer AND GPS were both at 74mph while mine read 80mph. So I figured since my tires were overdue, that they might have been worn down too much and were affecting how the speedometer and odometer read the rpm's. Well, I have brand new tires on that baby and I still have the same problem. The only change since last year, I upgraded my…

Hi all, just a quick heads up... As you know, Castrol are famous for making top of the range, high quality products. They are also a company that like to keep their products looking fresh and up to date. To do this, they regularly change their bottle shape design and the look of their labels. An example of this is their recent changes to the Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10w-40 - this fully synthetic 4 stroke motorbike oil still has the exact same high quality formula that remains unchanged, they have simply updated their label and the shape of the bottle. They take aesthetics very seriously! At Opie Oils, we also like to keep things up to date and lookin…

Might seem odd a new member posting this but I can't remember if it was this forum or another I seen it on? If it wasn't this forum anyone keen for starting one? I know I've got boxes of bits I'll probably never use and will more than likely be chucked in the tip but are more than usable and would give away if postage was covered and I bet a few other members are in the same situation If this is frowned upon ignore my thread ha

Hello guys, ive got a 2010 Audi A5 2.0tfsi, does anybody own one? If they do, how much oil is yours going through? I know they suffer from sipping the oil slowly but mine seems to be chugging it down and is costing me a fortune topping it up every week! Considering going back to a golf 1.9tdi!! ive checked for leaks ect and it does have a slight misting from the timing chain cover but I've re sealed with some rtv! Any help is much appreciated! Cheers guys!

Now I've been riding since I was 14 and had loads of bikes but just when you think you know it all along comes something you never even thought of, I watch quite a lot of "how to" videos on youtube and particularly like a guy called Delboys garage, makes me laugh anyway, but I have never thought about why the front discs are called "floating discs" and had no idea that the floating part was an actual moving item, I'm sure some of you did but I was brought up using brake shoes and drums and just assumed that discs on a bike were the same or similar to a car DOH! If you know this good for you if you don't then it could save you having to buy new discs with just a few minute…

Just a quick update on the FJR, through the winter it's had a bit of a spruce up, new set of exhausts new set of S/S brake lines front and rear new S/S clutch line, rebuilt the front and rear brake calipers (new seals) plus brake pads, I bought a Rear wheel hugger for it as well, didn't need it but I thought it looked the dogs. Did a full service as well, Christ the price of filters is daft on these things, fitted a front headlight protector to it as well, I thought that it might save me £600 if it protects it from a friendly rock, bought a new Chinese radiator for it from good old ebay (£150) really quite astonished how good it is compared to the original OE part which c…

Hi, I am currently working for a motorbike manufacturer and am looking for Yamaha Bolt owners. They will be given the opportunity to see a future generation bike and give their views and opinions on this. They will be among other riders of similar bikes attending. All must of owned the bike from new and since 2013. They will be paid for their time, which will include any expenses. This would be a great opportunity for your members to see the new generation of bikes our client has in the pipeline. Would it be possible to discuss posting the above and see if your members would be interested or even yourself? Please so let me know if this would be pos…

Hi, I'm new to this and to bikes really. I have a 09 ybr 125 and drove it for a year. I lost the keys and left it parked up for a year ( I know stupid!) I had a mechanic pick it up to get a new set of keys and it turns out the clocks are smashed. The guy in the garage says its €600 for a new set of clocks and €150 for keys and another €150 for battery and service. I think this is a little excessive when the clocks are on eBay for €50. Is this guy taking me for a ride because I'm a noob at this (and a girl) or does this sound about right?? He wants to buy it off me for €250 as scrap. I just don't know. any info would be greatly appreciated
