Just notice his phone # is still in your quote Drew post 9.
  2. First both driver were at falut but the driver of the car was most at fault, for entering a intersection without making sure it was safe! We all speed in our cars or on our bikes so that is null and void! The fact that he failed to see that if he had turned right he could have possibly made it around and back in before the oncomming used that space is the big question,if he had many years for experience then he might have been tired and not seen that oprounity? 22 or 38 make's little difference,we all speed.! We have a speed limit of 60mph 100 kph in ontario and NOBODY uses it on the freeway most are doing 130-140.Many in cars have been ticketed for 200.+ This is more of a case of common sence,1 the car dirver should have looked closer before turning.2nd the bike rider should not have been in such a hurry to get ??? and he would still be alive. The bike driver could have avoided the accident by using the oncomming lane had he been going a reasonable speed for the road, the careless driver could have just not turned infront of the bike driver. The people who set speed limits generaly set them after years of study,,, that if going x speed here tends to cause accidents ,,,,so wel lower it in a attempt to save lives. So to all my biking friends please use your COMMEN sence when and where you choose to speed, keep your head up and think of where your going to go always when riding. Better to be late than dead!
  3. No doubt in my mide that was real Lasso,my son has friends who don't go outside unless forced to.Over the summer hollidays he was skyping with a friend who hadden't been outside in 3 weeks and was going on how he was in a marathon of 22day of playing COD 18-20 hrs a day, When his friends from the city come out here to the sticks, every year I have a back to school party for 8-10 of them ,they show up with no tan and leave with one, they love it dirt biking, fishing shooting guns and archery.7 years ago when I started doing it some had never been out of the city or gone fishing, camping ,hikeing ect.. Now I get requests from his friends( when he isn`t here) to come out all the time,,, who have been out before. They love the freedom They play video games but at night , it's not hard to get them outside when there is things to do but for city kids everything cost money and alot of it is indoors. So glad I grew up before all this gamming, atari pong didn't take long to get board of and go find something to do About the video I though it was funny he was more upset about his stupid games than stepping in dog shit bare foot
  4. Welcome, I think it was Noise who had the manual

Ha happy wife makes for a happy life LOL. Ok but what weight are the guys you talked to ,setting up suspension oil level is relavent to rider weight.I dont think they were trying to steer you in the wrong direction but thier is alot more to getting a OK set up or a HOLY DUCK that feels great. Given that the fz didn't come with adjustable pre load or rebound,, oil level and shimming the springs is about all you can do to adjust for rider weight. A 120lb guy on the same level and oil weight would have different feeling than a 220lb rider. So it's not realy a 1 size fits all thing. If there are no good suspension guys to talk to then trial and error are about all you can do. At least oil is not a expencive or hard thing to change if you don't like it. Good luck hope it works out
  6. Good you came out ok ..but rule #1 don't look where you don't want to go or you will end up there, had you changed you focuse point you could have probably made it round the bend. Always look where you want to go 1/2 the time you will get there even if you come in to hot for your own comfort and a low side crash hurts less than trees, poles and armco barriers.
  7. Hi ya Bent,,, like minded ??? but yep there is a few bent minded here LMAO Just please dont ask to see the foams in his mankini were running low on mind bleach.
  8. Beauty place to ride, havent see a bw200 in a while used to be a guy who rode one year round around here last I spoke to him was 2 years ago and he had to order tires as no one would have any here. Bit goofy looking of a bike but each to thier own.
  9. Bastards ...... ....all formentiond methods for insuring that they won't try again are good BUT A BIG sign stating WARNING THE OWNER OF THIS BIKE LIKES GUNS..... WANT TO SEE ONE,,,,,,FUCK WITH THIS BIKE! tends to make them think 2x.Hope the scum bag didn't cost you too much.
  10. High rpm and heat misfires tend to point to a coil breaking down, could be the main coil or the pick up coil or CDI. If you have a Multy meter and a heat gun try warming up the coils and see if they fall out of speck range for resistance of ohms. Or a can of compressed air to quickly cool them down when it happens, problems like this need some serious investagation and we can only offer things to check that you may not know to check. If you haven't yet,,,, a Hi hello in the new members setion is the right thing to do.

Did the misses take the cash from the insurance for the G and go shopping . Going up to 20w seems a bit much to me I would think 15 would be better esp. cause it's getting colder.20 might be a bit stiff in the morning or add a few extra mil's of oil.Or same weight oil with a bit of preload via a shim on top of the spring Brad who does my forks is like a surgeon when it comes to oil amount,he swears 2mm of oil is all it takes to change the feel.as I have said before I just can't duplicate the way he does mine, even if I follow the info sticker he puts on them, but I have a sneaky feeling that he mixes his own oil.But who knows he wont let anyone watch him work his magic. And thats fair he is the guru
  12. The simplest way to check the starter is to feed it directly 12v +,hook a jumper cable to the starter first so you dont have power going to it while getting in the tight spot then touch the other end to battery +,have the neg cable attached to housing of the starter and neg treminal of battery. If it dosent work then you know for sure it is in need of rebuild.
  13. ???? was so mentioned and if by wheeling you mean doing wheelies they do that too
  14. Glad your OK Gaz and yes what a shame the bike was comming on nice hopefully the tank survived it was the key part. Er um the driver admitted fault how could they not when your bike was parked in the side of the car,I mean realy what else could they say,' honestly officer the road was clear and this bike just fell from the sky and landed in the side of my car"? Funking idiots who dont look should be leagle to shoot at them," honestly officer I wasn't trying to kill him just get his attention" Bet people would start looking out for bikes if they though they were going to be shot at.
  15. At 52 hp any small improvment is a gain, that lump alone is reason enough to finnish it to the blue print it was designed to be.factory race bikes get fully massaged to every bit shaving a bit here and there. Bulding engines is a art when you do 1 thing and see how it imporves the over all then you go hunting for more things to do,from pollishing /shot peening rods and cranks ,to all out maching new parts from better alloys. Some is done buy people who have years of schooling and degrees and some by a guy in a tiny little shop at home, think of Britton and Buel. The top fuel cylinder block on the Raceworks canada bike is made by a guy in tennesse in his back yard who pours his own sand castings and mixes his own blend of mettal and if that guy ever went to school past the 3rd grade,I would be very supprised if you looked up hillbilly in websters his picture would be there LOL,And I mean he litteraly has a hole dug in the ground to cast the blocks in sand casting's he makes nothing fancy just old school Lots of performance up grading is just fixing what mass production missed. The old rule of win on sunday /sell on monday still applies and factorys build good stuff but thier is always room for improvment and they don't want private people beating the factory on sunday. Sad part is as you havent ridden the bike so you will never know, but it is worth the effort and with your right hand man Ian guiding you , you should be safe,it might not be the prettiest bike but your cash has gone the right way to bulding a solid bike.
  16. Not much point in auto soling it if you leave that big lump beside the valve stem, but getting there.
  17. Dude you don't have to go live on the street,Bum bags REALLY? I can send some card board, spam and we could start a collection LOL Realy the old fj 600's were fab bikes in traffic ,hardley notice the 4cyl under you,and the divi is the same bike mo less, I wouldn't wright it off just yet as not the best bike for the job. Get it together and ride it you will see how comfee they are. They are a tuff bike and stand up well. The mid 80's fj were the best sport touring bikes and that was prety much befor the term sport touring exisited.
  18. I have been following this Clive and at this point I don't think your ready for a job like this,if you couldn't see how easy it is to remove the starter from Andrews video then just shop it out. Every thing you need to do is covered in the first 1 minute the rest is for changing the starter clutch that could be the problem but most likey not, they tend to not enguage the starter and it spins freely.. Then get your manual and read it cover to cover. This could be something as simple as a poor ground/connection to the motor/starter motor or a bad starter ,,,,but they go many years without fail into 60k miles. easy . You can safely start the bike bump starting it,,holding the start button is not nessary,, just turn the key on and bump start it. Hope you get it sorted.
  19. You put the bulb in the wrong way round, remove it and fix the socket
  20. Yep,,,, but think about it,if you added that ,,,,,timmi lerory ,, you,,I and abunch more of the world would still be giggleing, . As Frank Sanatra said " oh what a wonderfull place the world would be" Bob M don't wory be happy...to much stress in everyday life. Time for a nap and then a midnight ride while the roads are clear and it is still warm enough to enjoy !
  21. Exact bolt holes ? trail teck vapor make good one that will fit...And yes the speedos all have a problem change it out is the best way so far .
