  1. Hi Ivano. Welcome to the forum. Unless your bike is connected to WI-FI or a sat nav I can assure you that unless you adjust the clock manually it will not "self adjust". You say "The other morning I picked the bike and the had gone 2h forward ?, e.g. at 6 the clock would say 7." Who did you pick your bike up from? Maybe they adjusted the clock for you, just a thought. Mike
  2. My end seems to be alright now Alex. And also I can now access the workshop section to which I couldn't previously. Cheers for all your behind the scenes hard work. Mike
  3. Me too. Also, I seem to have lost the workshop section. ?
  4. Hi Malky, maybe I'm wrong and mis-reading your original post. Is your discomfort a "numb bum"? If it is, that's quite normal. When in a car you can move about and make yourself more comfortable but on a bike you just have to sit on the seat in the same position for the duration. Quite often I travel on the motorway (M4) for about an hour and a half and by the time I get there, boy, am I glad to get off the motorway, sometimes I get off before I should.
  5. Believe it or not Blackie, about twenty years ago my daughter came into the sitting room while I was watching an old B&W film and she seriously thought that life was in black and white.
  6. Hi Dinky, I see your not getting much response. maybe It's because you're a "one hit wonder" Have you posted in the newbie section yet? The only contribution I can give is not about your bike but about the battery. A battery likes to be used. The more you use it the longer it will last. A reputable battery will last up to ten years. BUT. and this is a big but. A battery can just "Die" From experience, I started my bike up one morning and it started perfectly, stopped at where I wanted to go, came out and the battery was dead as a dodo. Hope this helps Mike
  7. It's a bit like "Hotel California" by the Eagles.
  8. Quite honestly Slicey, I'm becoming a dry biker now. Came back from Hungerford on the M4 on Boxing day 2017 to Chippenham and it was torrential and pitch black. I didn't know whether to come back on the A4 with visor open/part open or the M4 and stay in the slow lane, I chose the M4 slow lane which was ok at 60mph but worried about unseen floods on nearside lanes and spray from idiots overtaking and cutting in without indicating. When I did eventually get back home I was soaked to the skin albeit wearing full leathers, missus (bless her) had to strip me right off in the hallway. Also had the same problem in 2016 coming back from Newbury on the M4.

    bike wont start

It could possibly be the ongoing problem I had on my old Divvy 600. The cable from the starter button goes to a block connecter under the seat to the starter solenoid so when you press the button it kicks in the solenoid then the starter. But, where the cable from the starter button goes into the block connecter it quite often corrodes hence no connection at starter motor. What I had to do is pull the cable out which came out so easy, clean connector, strip a bit of old cable and re-join. But, here's the clever bit, to test if that is the problem, and be very carefull doing this, short the two heavy duty cable nuts on the starter solenoid with a screwdriver carefull not to touch the metal shaft of the screwdriver and if the bike turns over then there is a break between starter button and starter motor. Hope this helps but by the time you read this you've most likeley sorted it out. If I remember right because It's been over four years since I've had the bike to find the block connector remove the seat and it should be on the left hand side looking forward. There will be more than one so either find the colour of cable from manual or just look for the corroded cable. Mike
  10. Too right Blackie, I remember going on leave from Faslane to Cirencester, got train to Glasgow Train station and had to wait about an hour for train so went to pub next door (in uniform) Locals kept plying me with beer, then put me on train to London, supposed to change at Birmingham but fell asleep and when guard woke me up asking for ticket I was somewhere between Brum and the smoke. If that wasn't enough he made me pay extra to get to London then on to Swindon. I've got to be honest Blackie. In the 60/70's we were not welcomed in Scotland or Wales. Sorry if I've offended you but my experiance.
  11. Hi Kyle, welcome to the forum. Glasgow, I could tell you a few stories about Glasgow when I was in the RN. was stationed in Gosport but came up to Faslane a lot of times so quite often got the train to Glasgow. Mike.
  12. Hi Graham, see your from Pompy, was stationed there in the early seventies. Gosport actually. Mike.
  13. Hi Jazz and welcome to the forum. Hi Guys. I am new here. I'm not exactly a biker. I own a Yamaha YBR125 that I use for errands to the shop and local meetings. What sort of errands and local meetings do you mean? And more importantly. Where do you come from? Me, I'm from Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.

Although not quite the same, but there are quite a few scooters with twin wheels on the front. I do appreciate this is a different kettle of fish, but the same principle. Mike.
  21. I'ts a miracle pain relief. I was in excrutiating pain over three years ago when I had my first experiance and within twenty minutes of shoveing one of these up my a**e the pain had gone. Sorry Drewps, can't seem to send a photo of a torpedo, will try later. http://s584.photobucket.com/user/mike1949/media/IMGP0002_zps2xkuowbg.jpg.html Got there at last.
  22. Blimey Drewps. What sort of stones? Kidney or Gallbladder? I've got kidney stone problems and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Luckily I always carry a "torpedo" with me. Mike.
