Good morning/afternoon/evening/Beer:30 to you all out there. A little over a month ago, I purchased my very first motorcycle in over 8 years, my brand-new from the showroom flow, FZ8. It is such a thrill to be back in the saddle again, and I look forward to being able to meet other riders out there.

Hi all, as this place appears to come highly regarded for Yam owners, I thought I'd sign up I picked up an XJ6 on an 2009 plate with a genuine 7400 miles on the clock and it was one lady owner as well! true that, its says so in the logbook. Anyways, I'm an old fart, be 60 in Oct, been riding since I was 16, had bucketloads of bikes, learnt a thing or two along the way. Already had to crank the rear shock up to max, fit bar risers to aid comfort, fitted a rack so I can get a topbox sorted. I ride all year round so the XJ6 appears to be the perfect tool for the job. Hopefully be able to spend some time here.

Hello. I have built a trail bike from a BSA Bantam frame and have fitted a SR125 engine. So far it has carried me all round the wonderful lanes of Lancashire and, a few years I took it up to Orkney and Shetland to ride around the islands. It is one of three bikes I own, a 2005 mildly modified Royal Enfield Electra X and a replica 1942 WD RE/CO sidecar outfit. Currently I am preparing the BSA to take to the Somme in June. Unfortunately I have discovered metal shavings on the oil filter as mentioned in my post under 'Projects'. Looking forward to joining the forum.

I didn't intend to start riding. Honestly, I really didn't. Two months ago I was quite happy with my car. I've been driving since 1978 and never been particularly interested in cars other than as a tool to get from A to B. So what happened ? My 17 year old daughter decided that she didn't want to take up the driving lessons she was offered for her birthday, instead she announced that what she wanted was a scooter. Cue horrified looks from her mother and I (and also it turns out from all her friends many of whom tried to dissuade her), but he stuck to her decision and in March this year I took her along to do her CBT at a local bike school. She had such a massive grin on …

Actually my first time to join a forum as well... My name is Matt, I'm from Oklahoma City, and I've spent the last year stripping and rebuilding my first motorcycle. It's an XS 850 SG motor in a 750 2D frame. I have relied almost solely on the Clymers and bought the bike in reasonable working order. It needed a complete run-through and was running very rich at mid to low rpm, as well as had a few leaks and lots of rust. I'm the guy who's Dad and Uncle had bikes, and subsequent mishaps, and therefore the answer to the question "Can I get a motorcycle?" was always Hell No! Anyway, 39 years and 3 kids later, I'm diving in. I'm about to fire it up for the first time in a year…

Hi All, just a quick note to say hello. My name is Pete and i'm from South Yorkshire. I have recently bought a 1994 XJ 900F in Blue and White - loving it! There are bits and pieces that need doing so doubtless I will be back on bugging you all in the near future. Used to have a single cylinder BMW F650 and the change to a four cylinder machine is unbelievable! Anyway nice to have met you all and don't forget to cheer on Rotherham United in the 1st division second leg semi final play off tonight!!!! Happy Trails, Pete.
