Hi everyone, Thought I would rejoin this group - I was a member a long time ago (1973) when I bought my YR5F from Commerfords - which I still have! Looking for info on locating spares for the old girl as I would like to spruce her up a bit. Specifically looking for headlight glass, front mudguard, chain guard, air box & filter and air box to carb rubbers. Any leads would be appreciated, cheers John

Hi Guys, Just joined up as I'm starting a new refurb project on a 1987 RD350 YPVS (F2). It's obviously something to do with hitting 40 that you want to re-live your youth - so have a hit list of old models that I used to own that I would like to own again. I have very fond memories of my YPVS from way back in 1991 so spent months hunting for the right bike (one with all original parts and not messed with but need refurbishment) - I was amazed the sort of money that they are now going for! Hope there's some fellow 2 stroke fans on here for some info along the way :-) Thanks Steve.

Hello All, Just joined the forum hoping to get some help with my bike. I am from Colorado, USA. I just got a 1981 DT175 that I was told ran for a while, but stopped running so it was left sitting for around two years. So far I have re-lined the gas tank (was really nasty). Put a new Carb on it. Checked the Coil. The trouble I have found is that I am not getting any spark. I have traced down voltage to the Rectifier and found that it was not letting any juice through. But from what I have heard, it should start w/o the rectifier. Could anyone give me some ideas of where to look next for why I am not getting any spark? Thanks, Jesse Zacher

Hey all ... New to here .. Trying to help a very stressed friend. I found the DT for him for his sons birthday. It's a bit of an old nail but all there(ish).. We have been trying to get it to run for a while without success , but noticed that one of the wires (red/white) from the pick up wasn't looking great. Re soldered it and she started!! It ran for nearly five minutes the stopped and now WILL NOT EVEN FIRE.. Really clutching at straws here but thinking crank seal??? If I put my hand over the carb mouth and kick it over my hand gets soaked in petrol ???? The plug seems quite dry considering the number of times we've kicked it over.. Would expect it to be soaked ??? Tr…

Hi guys, I've been riding motorcycles since 2001, I've always loved Japanese bikes and had several of them in the past, always fuel injection so endless to say I never had to do any work on them and therefore don't really know the mechanics of it. I just bought a 1977 Yamaha xs400 which was restored. I did notice that once the bike is warm and on idle it tends to die (about 1500 rpm). If I choke it sometimes dies and sometimes goes to 3500rpm. Should I adjust the idle??? Or maybe have the carb recleaned??? Anyways it is great to be here and be part of the club. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi , just joined as I have just purchased a Yamaha FS1 SE as a project to restore with my dad.Just wondering if anyone can put me onto any sites where I can buy parts such as brake and throttle cables. I'm sure there is more stuff I will need but I need to start somewhere. So if anyone knows of some sites for me look at, it would be much appreciated, Cheers Aneurin

Hey, I'm new to the forum. Just picked up a 1974 DT 175. The previous owner used it for strictly dirt but I'd like to get it street legal again. I'll be coming on here to ask some questions as I restore/fix up the bike. She runs real nice right now and starts up first kick. I do believe the previous owner did some mods to the magneto but I'm not entirely sure. It has no battery and all wires have been stripped. Any input or advice is much appreciated. I've attached a pic. Looking forward to getting this lady on the road.
