So long story long I moved to France from Spain because of work issues and I never really had much money so I couldn't get any type of license, in France things are going a bit better but biking is.. not the best thing in the world to get from A to B let's say, so I decided to start small and do the 50cc license (I've always liked bikes but from 0 to a 500kg bike I rather get some experience first) So I purchased a Yamaha DT 50 R about a week ago (I like having to shift gears and a scooter won't do that for me) and I'm trying to make her look somewhat decent because the previous owner had a little.. slide with it let's say I'm trying to look for some fairing but I'm havin…

Some of you will know me from other forums. I emigrated from England to Australia last decade with work, then to Belgium after jacking in the career and a run of bad health. I spend my weekends adding to and tinkering with my collection (mostly 2-strokes from my youth) and have two sons who want their own bikes

Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie rider (only got my CBT just over 2 weeks ago!) and just picked up my first bike! It's a cute Yamaha SR 125, a little old and with a few tweaks needed but so far I absolutely love it. So hi, as I said i'm very new to bikes so any advice on day to day maintenance and tricks of the trade would be very much appreciated. Thanks Everyone,

Hi again from Sweden ! Still working on my Little DT50MX. Compression is quite low, it feels like, so I'll probably do a ring job during the Winter. We have some steep hills around here, so I tried one of the steeper ones yesterday. It would not make it up in 4th or 3rd gear without a lot of struggle, but did ok in 2nd. Maybe ok for this Little fellow with a 140-150# rider.

I will be checking out the headlines and FAQ for my problems but just wanted a quick answer if possible, banging my head on the wall......So Howdy to all, didn't mean to be so right to the point, but just bought it 3 weeks ago and its already dead. or maybe not. I'm a new rider (street). From the US,, Nebraska to be exact. I like the old school, café racer style , and some that I've never heard of but very cool looking. Hi All I have just rebuilt a couple of DT 50 MXs with my son (we are still talking!) and I would like to get mine road legal. Problem is I have no registration docs and I don't know the registration number or even the year. I guess some of the info could come from the frame and engine numbers which match. Anyone know the best way to avoid lengthy problems with the DVLA? Thanks Gary

hi everyone I just recently purchased a 1982 sr 250 and have been riding without any problems. A couple of nights ago another rider asked me why it sounded the way it does. Hes never owned a yammy so he wasn't sure if the sound was right for this bike. I , too am unfamiliar with yammy sound this being my first. It does sound louder by the motor sort of like an automatic weapon the sound not coming from the exhaust but around the motor. I did have it inspected a couple of weeks ago and the inspector didnt mention anything about it, odd. Maybe hes unfamiliar with the sound this yammy should make. I looked at the oil level and it is at max, no leaks. Ive thought it could be …

Hi everyone I'm a 38 year old new biker. I was on a scooter for 2 years but always wanted a 'proper bike'. I am now the owner of a YBR 125 Custom. I've only had it for 6 weeks and I bought it brand new. I am absolutely hooked. It's great on a nice day to just go out for a ride. I never did that on my scooter. I really like Yamaha and would love to own a V-max. I don't think my back could handle the sportier bikes so it's cruisers all the way. Unfortunately, every new bikers nightmare happened to me yesterday. I came off the bike for the first time since I started riding. I've been dreading it, knowing that it would one day happen to me. I think I pressed too hard on…

Hello everyone. My name is Andy and from the north west in England. Having recently sold my nissan skyline and purchaced a honda Varadero 125 I thought that a 125cc engine would be ample for hauling my heavy ass to work and back. How wrong was I? So without hesitation I was on the lookout for something bigger. After a couple of weeks of hunting I have hooked myself a well looked after 2002 thundercat in blue and white with only 11000 miles on the clock and full service history. All thats left now is to get my full licence then I can ride her.

Hey all I've had my bike for a few weeks now and and getting tired of wearing a standard backpack for my commute so I am looking into storage options for my uniform and other bits. The YBR Custom has a luggage rack on the back but I am not too fond of the top box solutions out there. I can't seem to find any clear answer to this elsewhere but can tail packs fasten to luggage racks? I know that may sound like the dumbest question ever but it seems like some fastenings would not be suitable for the rack? Does anyone have any tips or recommendations?

Have had a lot of bikes thru the years ,Swedish,English and Japanese, since I was 14 years old. Now I am retired, taking it easy and fixing up a DT50MX, just to have somethng to get around on, that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I am sure I will enjoy your club. larsgra.
