Hi, I'm Scott from Hull. Just bought my first bike which is a yamaha xt 125 x 2010 model. Not the best of bikes but I got it for a good price. I have little experience with bikes but I look to get quite into riding now I've got a bike. Hopefully I can learn something here and meet some nice people. Thanks for reading

Hi everyone, I've got a 2009 mt03, I seem to get some oil ending up in the air filter box which can be drained out of the pipe coming out underneath, is this normal or does this mean there is a problem somewhere, would appreciate any advice. Thanks mark.

Hi, New to this forum (and quite a rookie biker too). Did the Direct Access course a few years back and bought an XJ600S Diversion because I wanted an intro to big bikes, also something with a fairing that was ok on motorways, etc. I've been fairly happy pottering around on my own but have recently started going out on longer distance rides and more twisty roads and have found the handling disappointing when trying to keep up with the 'big boys'... Partly my inexperience I guess, plus the Divvy wasn't designed to be a sports bike, but is there anything I could do to improve things in the handling department? A mate suggested fitting a bigger rear tyre; is that a…

Hi All Been looking at this forum for a number of months now, silly for me to have joined earlier! Anyway, my name is Jayson. 23 years old and living in Cape Town, South Africa. I've always ridden bikes, starting with motocross - although never raced - and ending up racing supermotards. In the next 3 days I will be leaving the bike shop I'm working for which is called Retro Prestige Motorcycles (https://www.facebook.com/Retro.Prestige.Motorcycles). It was a startup business which I helped open and designed. Dealing with mostly classic bikes and cafe racers and accessories, I ran the back office and in the end I landed up building cafe's and trackers. So some of my…

Hi Everybody I am 68 this year and just got back onto two wheels. I have never had new bikes my last one being a 1984 Honda Nighthawk CB650SC - a good bike but spares getting hard/dear to get hold of. I have just bought a 1998 XJ600S Diversion, not the bike I wanted I would have preferred the 900 with shaft drive, but was within my price range. I am quite pleased with the bike apart from a vibration felt throughout the bike at around 3500 rpm. below and above the bike is quite smooth but my fillings suffer at this rpm. The bike has a non standard 4-1 exhaust system which sounds great ( the main reason I bought the bike ) but apart from that I assume the bike is standa…

Hi folks Scott here from Perth. Had a few 125's over the past including: Random XT-125 Motocrosser Skyjet SJ125-23 (CBR 125 clone) Huonio HN125-8 (Cruiser style bike with CG125 clone 4t). Recently acquired a 1990 Yam DT125R in several boxes, and trying to refurbish and rebuild. Not fussed on how much it costs nor re-sale value as im a hobbyist mechanic and want to use it to gain a better understanding of 2t's and refurbishing from the ground up. Already started stripping the frame, drilling out and tapping broken bolts and getting it ready for paint.

Hello All, Not quite yet a Yamaha owner but I am about 70% nearly Got a few questions to ask, I am looking into the Yamaha MT-09'S was thinking of going down the route MiYamaha PCP but i am finding the monthly payments to be on expensive side for at this time, So I am thinking of getting a personal loan which works out cheaper monthly payments, I have seen a 2013 MT-09 with 5k miles for about £5800 from a dealership, I was wondering what type of things would I get meaning Yamaha warranty still good for it ? and do you think I will get much trouble compared to buying a brand new for £7200? Obviously it seems cheaper the better for me at the moment, I am j…

Hi All, passed my CBT a while ago but have been riding a 'ped to gain some road confidence, finally found a 125 Dragstar (2003 c. 22k miles) with the right price tag and a seller I had a good feeling about so have been on the road for about a week now (clutch control is coming along...slowly!). look forward to chatting to you all in the future. 1 question (yes I have done a forum search) does anyone know of a really basic guide, preferably with pictures explaining day to day maintenance upkeep (changing/checking the oil etc)? thanks! James
