Morning people.... I'm trying to find some information or a decent wiring diagram for an old XT600... I'm trying to get it running for a friend of mine but having little luck, Wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.....? I've been through the carbi and cleaned up and stopped from flooding... Charged the battery and checked over, all seems ok... The problem I seem to have is lack of spark, when winding it over it gives one good spark then nothing, as it doesn't have a kick start I can't tell if it will spark without the starter, Other than taking it out onto the road and pushing it what should I check or what may be a common fault I haven't thought of ..? …

Evening all thought it would be prudent to post an intro since i have signed up. I passed my test last friday and obtained a 97 XVS 650 custom from a lad at work (my boy was quite chuffed) with a knackered final drive yip, a bit chewed sourced a 95 535 virago complete hub, shaft and worm gear for a mere £50 in excellent condition (the oil was still crystal clear when i split the drive out and fitted it into the 650 hub. All set and got 8 mile into the trip home and, well it broke down (fortunately a friend was not far away so kept me company for a couple of hours until another mate saved the day with his van) It …

Hi everyone. Just a short note to introduce myself. A new member to the Yamaha family having just purchased a 98 Xvs650 Custom. Absolutely love it. Will be spending quite a bit of time fettling it to my tastes so I'm sure I will be asking loads of questions! I'm a separated working dad with 4 children all who stayed with me when i split from there ex. 2 eldest now live in their own placed but still got a 17 & 19 yr old with me. Live in Berkshire. Hope that's enough for an introduction.

Hello! My first Yam was an RXS100 when I was 17, my son is now the same age and is the proud owner of a low mileage 2013 YBR and is loving it. Hi to all I'm Chris, I decided to join this forum as it seems useful as I'm waiting on delivery of a black 2012 Yamaha Xmax 125, makes this the ideal forum to join, upgrading bike from Peugeot metal x 100cc, the main reason I use scooters is I have osteoarthritis in my back, hands and knees etc and find a scooter much easier and comfy compared to a geared bike, hence buying the Xmax as it gives me plenty of room compared to a normal scooter, I live in Cornwall which is a lovely place to live, Everyone ride safe and hope to speak other members soon, Thanks all, Chris

Hi everyone this is to introduce myself, I am no spring chicken but have had classic british café racers for a long time and at the moment have a 1960 Triton which is a hybrid Norton slimline featherbed frame and a pre unit 650 triumph bonneville engine and box uprated to 750, I have joined because lately I have been drawn to an early R1, I rode my mates a few months ago and what power I felt 16 again but doubt I have a 16 yr old's bottle anymore, anyway any guidance and advice welcomed and best place for insurance as the company I am currently with only deal with pre 80 stuff and do not have or give no claims discount

I live far far out in the mountains with barren roads and needed a ride to University because student accommodation is too pricey!! And also went for motorbike over car because... let's face it. Which 17 year old male can afford a car, insurance, MOT, road tax and all the extras without having their parents chip in. I refuse to relay on anyone else especially when it comes to money. Hi, have just picked up a old Yamaha Ag100. Have been looking around the web and lots of searches bring me to this forum. Thought i would join up and say hi. I live in the far south coast nsw Australia. My bike of choice is a SR500 but finances dont agree with me at the moment. I used to own a 77 model TT500 which was awesome. Got the TT in the late 90's. Hi my name is Alex , live in London and have 2 bikes (Yamaha vity 125 2010 , Honda PCX 2012) With the Yamaha I have some problems when the engine is warm. First i had problems even when i was waiting at the stoplights , it would turnoff, after i adjusted the valve clearance it doesnt turnoff anymore but when i drive it and it gets warm , i cant restart it if i switch the engine off, need to wait for it to cool off and it works. Changed the sparkplug,the valve clearance is okay ,battery okay , airfilter okay, can this problem relate to the carb ? Or what seems to be the problem ? Kind regards! AleX P.S.
