Hello! Picked up my yamaha ybr 125 today and the first time i rode one after my cbt. I rode it from high wycombe all the way to brighton! Bit nervous to start but ended up alright! At first when i was riding past other bikers i got nods haha then i realised i guess its a secret biker thing??? Looking to buy a jacket and gloves. What sort of helmet is good to start off as i need to get a new one. My budget it 150 quid! Thanks

Hi everyone nice forum. I have a qustion regarding a 1978 yamaha dt 250 I just picked up. I bought this bike from a guy who says it needs a ignition coil and I found a coil for it but in searching i noticed this bike should have a cdi or should it not as there is not one on it but just a single wire harness going from the magneto up to where the coil mounts all lights and original harness are gone is it possible this model did not have a cdi or has it maybe been swithced any ideas, thanks im stumped

Hi Guys. New to site am from sunny Sunderland, if you don't know where we are its up there in the cold North East. You pass by it on the way to Scotland. On a serious note I have a 2006 R1 in Lava red, got some scratches on the tail fairing could do with some Lava Red paint or even push to shove another good condition panel. Thanks.

Hello! I joined this site in hopes that i can garner the wisdom of other classic Yamaha owners. I was just given a FREE 1975 Yamaha XS500B and being a home mechanic, need all the help i can get to bring some life into this long dormant bike. I am now a 2 Yamaha household, the other being a 1980 SR500 that is a blast to ride. The wife has already claimed the XS as her own, she likes the electric start button. Thanks for the support and i look forward to asking lots of questions on the forum.

Hi Folks, I am looking to get my self a ybr 125 in the next week or so, Gonna get the finance sorted out on Monday. I cant wait for the bike, I am sick of petrol prices, cant afford to drive my car its just costing me too much money. hey whats up im new to the site and wanted to say hi and im having some problems with my 79 mx175. at first i couldnt get any spark so i replaced the cdi and fixed that problem but now i cant get it to rev up. it will sit and idle with no problem. I was told it might be getting to much air but i dont see how. ive cleaned the carb and replaced the spark plug any help on this issue would much appreciated thanks

Hi everyone, just a quick intro. Wrong side of 50, never really grown up. (your a man, thats normal I hear the ladies say..)I have a Triumph Sprint but also in the family we have a 1970 BSA A65 and a new addition, a 1982 XJ 750. The A65 and the Yamaha are in the renovation process. I will be going to the classic bike show on Easter Saturday so hopefully will be able to pick up some bits there. In the early '80s I had an XJ 650 which was almost new when I got it. It was a splendid bike. I loved it, and its nice to have the prospect of riding something similar in the near future. Hello everyone, I am really impressed to see how amazingly functional this website is. it's pretty neat. Im from Ontario around lake Simcoe and i am the proud owner a 82 xj750 (pretty red on white one). the bike has been sitting for 12 years now and i decided that this is the time to get it running and myself on it. I signed up for a motorcycle training course at Centennial College in June. (which probably doesn't mean much to most of my new american buddies) but here we have a graduated licensing system and you get a M2 license at the end of the 3 day course. Hi folks, Just saying hello to you all Recently got myself a DT 175 MX to go with my Other bike! I've owned my 400/4 for over 25 years, its a lovely ride but up until recently I'm not so keen on getting her wet, all that chrome takes a while to polish and the road salt doesn't do it much good either, so from now on its a summer / dry weather bike. However, I wanted a commuter/wet weather bike so I bought a DT 175 The idea is the 175 will be my winter/wet bike. Don't worry folks the 175 will be kept just as nice as my Honda! Hi Im in sheffield, Decided to put my old YZF 750 back on the road and thought I'd join here whilst im in the process of spring cleaning the bike.....might be doing a repaint/vinyl wrap on the panels and tank so will probably be posting some mock up ideas. I would welcome any comments.
