Hi i am a new member and am excited to finally be part of a group. Oops had better properly introduced myself. I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland and I'm 44 years old. I have had several bikes mainly Hondas over the years but at the moment I've got a wrf450 and a Yamaha mt-03 .There's lots of places to ride over here specifically in large Pine Forest areas and so on . Not too much riding around in the city of the Gold Coast but anywhere an hour away there's lots of great places.

Hi guys, Currently riding Honda F4i 600 as a road bike but have always had Yamahas as dirt bikes. My dad has just over 1100 acres out near Gatton which we gave recently decided to run cattle on. Whilst my TTR250 is a great bike it is at most times not a practical bike for farm work. This started me looking around at some cheap bash abouts for getting from A to B whilst also carrying tools and what not to places its a pain in the ass to get a 4x4. Quads are to expensive at the moment for my budget. Anyway I ended up buying a 1981 Yamaha AG 100 that has been stripped of all the road features ( headlight speedo etc) and painted nastily with a can of black sp…

Hello, I am a new member located in Denver, Colorado. I inherited a 1982 DT100 from my son. It was his first bike and he moved to a larger one. I must admit I have always been a Honda guy (1976 XL100, 1973 CB125, 1974 Trail 90), but I have a special connection to the DT100. In the summer after High School graduation, 1977, my buddy bought a DT100 and convinced me (didn't take much) to buy a bike and take it up to his family cottage in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for the month of August. I found the XL...only a year old with less than 2000 miles on it for $300. Amazing how fast bikes depreciated back then! When the time came I took off the front wheel and ha…

Hi Yamaha owners This is the first time I have ever registered for a forum. My first bike was a Suzuki T250 Hustler and I have owned and ridden motorcycles continuously since I was 17 (40 odd years). In this time I have maintained restored and rebuilt many different motorcycles. Now my son has joined the happy two wheeled club and has a 2011 XT 125 X. This has been the source of many new problems due to the way it has been misused by previous owners. I look forward to this new departure of membership and sharing of knowledge and interests.

Hi. I put a new member post on here the other day , but not sure what happened to it. Had 100+ bikes including an 1100 Virago in the past, currently have 2 Harleys, a XBR cafe racer, a CZ125, and a Virago 535 for my g/f. I has asked about a problem about poor running and fuel coming out the overflow for the front carb, but I fixed that yesterday. May have a query about the valve clearances and clutch later . Thanks, G

Hi. Thank for accepting me . Over my life I've had over 100 bikes of all type - currently have 2 Harleys , a Honda XBR 500 , and my g/f has a Virago 535. In the early 90s I built a custom Virago 1100. We have owned our current Virago for over 3 years without a problem, but today she was about to take it out for a run (it had already been out for a long run in the last few days). It was slow to start, with white smoke, and definitely didnt want choke. Then I spotted it was overflowing fuel from the front carb. I tapped the side of the carb, then took it for a blast up the road - running OK, maybe a slight misfire over 100kph, but it would barely tick over , and when…

Purchased my first Yamaha: 1976 RS100C. The bike is in very good condition and I don't plan on a major restoration effort. I've rebuilt the carb and replaced a few items, but it is running. My next project is to replace the tires. The bike came with a 2.5-18/front and 2.75-18/rear. The Owner's Manual says these were the proper tires, but my Haynes Workshop Manual says 2.75-18/front and 3.00-18/rear. Can anyone tell me which is correct and/or recommended. Thanks, Bob

Hi, I have just realised I've been extremely rude and not introduced myself yet. I'm new to the forums and to Y.O.C. I recently purchased a Yamaha XVS1100 V Star. The bike is an import from the USA. Loving it so far. A few years ago I owned a Bulldog 1100cc which was also a great fun bike. No doubt as time goes by I will have a lot of questions, so be prepared😁. I've found lots of interesting and useful discussions so far having only tickled the tip of the iceberg. Cheers for now FishPig aka Kevin Kelly

Hi all Just brought myself a restoration project. Same model I had from new in 1981 XT250. Hell of a lot of work coming up but ive done a couple of different bikes before Suzuki T500J and a Bonneville T100 concourse. Both on youtube Ive still got that sick feeling and not sure if its excitement to start or worrying ill never finish it. Look forward to picking your brains when ive got my head round the bikes history. Goes without saying bits are scarce, so im up for anyone contacting me saying they got every bit i need cheers Mark

Hi,new owner of a slightly ropey looking xj900f,however mechanically in great condition. It has been...tastefully turned into a cafe racer which is how I bought it and will be undoing all the work to turn it into a naked or faired muscleish looking xj. Currently running pods which are tuned to almost perfection and has taken me ages to get there however will be looking at going back to standard airbox as winter will soon be here and want wet weather protection!! Will no doubt be asking many many questions!!! Cheers. Nev

Hi all, Just to introduce myself, i’m Dill. Got my first bike back this March, current year R125. I got into motorcycling pretty late at the age of 26, always wanted a bike but just never got around to purchasing one until now. Mainly use it for commuting to and from work, and the occasional run down some A roads! Really fun little bike considering it’s only a 125, but great to learn on. Will eventually go for an R6 once I’ve had some training on the track as I’d like to start learning how to handle a bike around the track. Thanks for having me! 🙂
