Hi there all. I'm very new to the club and have possibly taken on a project too far. I've own bikes before but newer ones that it's not worth getting too hands on with (other than a cleaning rag!) I've now gone and got myself a 1979 XS 250. A definate project bike. It's a rolling chassis with engine, and 'box of bits'. The engine supposedly runs but need to find out for myself if that's true. Feeling a bit daunted and wondering where to start. Some friends reckon that servicing as I go is the way, where as others think I should just hook it all up and see if it starts. The whole lot only set me back £100 so it's no great shakes if (when)I screw something up. Any helpful h…

Hi everyone! I am joining the forum in hopes of receiving some help with building an electrical system. I am wanting to take a 75 MX400 and turn it into a supermotard. As far as electrical goes, all I want is the bare minimum to pass inspection. In Texas, I think this would be a headlight, taillight, brakelight and maybe a high beam indicator. I have had this project in mind for several years. While doing some research, I came across Neo's thread on coverting his DT to 12V and figured I would join. Electrical is certainly my weakest area.

Hi guys, good site you've got here. Could anyone point me in the right direction - I'm digging around for some clocks for my 2002 DT 125R & a reasonable source for a rear brake master cylinder repair kit ? (Mine have missing speedo casing/trip meter knob & cracked tacho lens) Grateful for any help, cheers.

Hi Folks I've just joined the site - I'm not a biker, but my other half is... She's just got herself a 2001 XVS 125, which has been sitting in someone's back garden for the past 4 years. I've got the owner's manual and have a fair bit of experience with things mechanical (although the last bike I worked on was a Kawi KH1000), but I wanted to check first for any advice before I start the "recommissioning" process. Also, when I say "has been sitting", I mean just that - it has not been run (or, in fact, moved) since early 2008... I appreciated that all the fluids will need changing, and that the tyres are probably suspect, despite having very little wear…

Hi, my name is Tim. I'm Irish currently living in the uk near brighton. I've recently bought a yamaha sr125 for my first bike. I use it mainly for commuting and I thought this forum would be a good place to get any advise when things go wrong, as I'm a complete novice! Looking forward to getting involved.

Bearing in mind this was in 1971, about 40 years ago. I'm second from left. We used to go ashore with my mate on the left and he was built like a viking warrior and nobody used to argue with us.

Hi, just joined the site. I own a 1999 TDM850, travelled a bit with it and still think its one of the best all round bikes going. I live on he Isle of Man but enjoy travelling further afield when possible. Looking for meets and tours and maybe a few tips on the way. Got a trip planned over to France, though the Black Forrest and into Switzerland in July with my BMW riding mates, any tips would be good. Went through France and Belgium last year, bike didn't miss a beat. Hope to meet new friends through the site. Cheers Rob
