I have a 1980 sx850 special. I just picked this one up. I had the exact same bike two years ago color and everything. I loved it. The only major problem I'm having is 2nd gear. When I'm on the throttle in 2nd it bangs/ slips out,, in and out with a big slam/ bang. Doesn't happen when downshifting , slowing down no throttle. .??

  6. Hello all, My name is Marshall. I just got myself into the Yamahas and I am a young lad. I'm only 17 and have the supreme interests into motorcycles. I hope to learn a lot from these forums and at least help diagnose my problem. Dad was always a harley fellow, but got me into cafes like the xs750's. still love them but now I found my home of the enduros. Im a big fan of the Enduros. Favorite of them all except for the adventure bikes (I'm not experienced enough for a super tenere) Now, I got this xt350 after my yz 125 (no job or anything so I had to settle for older bikes) The bike was running but now it feels like a fuel problem like it doesnt want the fuel. It barely id…

Hi All Time to introduce myself properly, forgive me for not doing so in my earlier post, tbh i am new to biking and message boards etc so please forgive my ignorance in that matter! My name is Chris, i am 33 and am relatively new to biking, although I wish now that I had taken it up years ago!!! Love getting out on my bike which currently is a yamaha YBR 125, this is my first bike and my aim is to do my practical test at some point in the near future and gradually move up to something with a little more kick (but not too much!!!) I am not the most technically minded person in the world but I am enthusatic to try things with the bike in terms of maintainence …

Hi folks, Been down in Australia for 6yrs but on my home to Scotland in a few weeks and bringing my XVS1100 Custom with me (have spent a few years modifying & tinkering with it but nothing too special, hence the reason for bringing it with me) However, as the title suggests, I'm badly in need of some tech help if theres anyone out there who can offer assistance. A friend in Glasgow asked the dealer there about a new clock dial (since I'll have to change from KM's to MPH) and the dealer said he'd need to know if it was an American or a European model because the wiring is different. This has opened up a bit of a debate down here since I've asked 3 seperate dealers …

Hi All, Just found this forum and joined. I live in Southern California. I recently purchased a 1970 Yamaha 250 Enduro DT1C.It's going to take some work to get it going again, but I'm looking forward to the task. I've been riding and racing off road more than 40 years. I got my son started when he was 6 yrs old (he's 30 now). We mostly ride vintage Husqvarna's now, but I also have several other off road bikes. Also, currently restoring a 1969 Yamaha 250 DS6C Scrambler. Thought the DT1C would be nice to have something to putt around town on, without having to drive to the desert first. Look forward to helping when I can and will probably have more t…

Good day folks, well it is here at least, which probably means I should be expecting snow tomorrow, what with the randomness of weather Ireland encounters I drive a Yamaha Dragstar xvs125, which I've had since I was twenty one, I'm twenty eight now and it's still doing me well, its recently passed the 42000Km mark so I wouldn't say I've done much driving on it in the years. I've ridden a few other bikes since such as a Racing Aprilia 125, a Lexmoto xtr125, a Sinnis Vista 125, all my little brothers bikes, as you can imagine none of these have tempted me to part with my dragstar in the least. My only experience riding a larger bike has been on a Honda CB400 Super …

Just joinded yesterday & jumped straight in & asked a question about one of my Yamys. To introduce myself better, I am 56 & just love bikes especially historic racing machines. I also manage a web site for the Queensland Early Motorcycle Club www.qemsc.com.au & also manage a race event at Carnell Raceway called the Big Chill. I race a 1972 Honda CL350 & a 1900 Honda CBR250 but my other bikes are mostly Yamys. I have just bought a brand new XJR1300 which I just love & have a 1980 SR500 & a 1989 FZR600 which I use as a track day bike. Hoping someone can help with my fork oil enquiry on my SRV250.

New on here from Ireland. Just wanted to introduce myself. Picked up a good XVSa 650 (2001) the other day and will be wanting to customise/bobberise over the summer! Been looking at posts as a non-member and there seem to be some very knowledgeable folks on here who are most helpful! Previous bikes include a 1980 250n superdream project that turned out pretty well so I have a small bit of experience but would be glad of any extra assistance!

Hi everyone! Roj of Philippines here. does anyone here know the history of Yamaha DT 125 O1w (only 1 in the world)? Got my Yamaha DT125 bike 5 years ago and i am not aware bout the model of it until one of my friend told me that it is a Yamaha DT125 O1w model which he told me that it is only made or manufactured for Philippines only and modified by someone who happens to be the exclusive distributor (NORKIS) of Yamaha Motorcycles in the Philippines. Can anyone give any light on this matter?
