Hello everyone, I am new to motor bikes and have no idea what is going on with my bike. My bike is spitting oil out of the exhaust pipe and at the top of the pipe where it connects to the engine (as well as white smoke!), this is following adding oil to the crank box. Hope someone can help, this happens every time i add oil to the crank box like it needs. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? <img src="http://i43.tinypic.c…

Afternoon all from a nice sunny London, Hoping that i can pick somebodys brain regarding the above, Ive got a 1987 Grey import, That is finally running on all 4 cyls, But just took it out for a run, and i do think that there is a restrictor of some sort liked into the speed side of things, Revs lovely through the gears, up to about 45/50 mph, then its as if it retards itself, Any help finding this pesky device would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Mike

Hi there everyone! My very first bike, along time a go, was a little FS1E (P reg, pre restriction, 50mph downhill with the wind behind etc.) Following a long break from biking I finally gave up the trains and tubes and have been commuting for the last five years into central London on my trusted YBR 125. Next week, at long last, I get to order an XJ6 Diversion F I've noticed already some pictures posted by members with the new colour scheme and look forward to adding a photo once I take delivery of mine. (Went to Hastings as a pillion on Bank Holiday Monday, next year on my own bike ) Looking forward to being a part of this club Cheers Steffan

  8. Hi guys, just joined today. Yesterday I traded in my trusty 03 Bandit for a new XJN6-N. The Bandit has been a great bike for the last 8 years for commuting and longer weekend rides, but had a good test ride on the XJ6 and really enjoyed it. Really showed what an ancient and out-of-date model the Bandit now is. Black, with Yamaha fly-screen (thought about some other extras but decided to take my time and consider). Anyway, shame I dont have the new bike now for a first run down to Hastings for the May Day Bank Holiday events (grew up in Hastings). Fantastic weather forecast (though beware the sea mist!), I hope everyone has a great day out. Cheers Tez…

Hello everyone! I thought I'd join the forum as I'm now a Yamaha owner and... Well... Why not! I've been on here a few times already as googles sent me towards here and it seems like a pretty decent place for bike talk and general conversation! Just going to be a short post to say hello as I'm due to watch a film with the girlfriend. I have a few questions I shall bug you all with shortly but for now we'll stick to "Hi my name is Scott"

Hi there, I've recently bought a 1980 xs250 to restore/bob and it's my first bike (complete novice-ish) I live in Leeds, West Yorkshire and am a freelance photographer for a BMX magazine. With the combination of spare time and riding a BMX for 15 years getting a motorcycle feels kinda natural. Anyways, hello to everyone and thanks for having me. Joe [sharedmedia=garage:vehicles:999]

Hi all, I recently aquired an XJ900F, 1990, 'basket case'. An old boy had it for years, fell off it and threw it in the corner of his shed, 4 yrs later its in mine! New battery, cleaned carbs/tank, bit of redex and it's running, even ticking over. Have welded the frame where it needed it, 'hammerite'd' most it, (frame), and cleaned up the shiny bits. Electrics were a mare, found the 2 auxilary wires had broken inside the ignition switch! All now fixed and everything works. Last thing is the brakes..................all pistons seized badly. Doubt a seal kit would do it, so my questioon is, does anyone know if the calipers from a later diversion would fit? …

Hi, I'm new to the site and wondered if anyone could help me at all. I am restoring/bobbing a 1980 XS250 and am looking for an exhaust. As far as I can tell/know, the XS400 and 250 engines are very similar. Will an XS 400 exhaust fit an 250 at all? Also, I'm going to lower the back end from 350mm which is what are on there at the mo to probably 280mm. Are the mounting sizes a universal size or will I have to buy some shocks especially for the XS250? If anyone could help me I would be very great full. Cheers, it is very much appreciated. Hello everyone, I've just got my hands on a '86 RD350N1 YPVS. I got it for a good price because the engine was seized. The engine hasn't run for years, so I was hoping the seizure was just the pistons stuck in the bores. Unfortunately not, one of the I've been riding and servicing bikes for years, but this is my first engine rebuild. I've tended to steer clear of engine internals, preferred to leave it to the pro's, but now it's time to get stuck in, I don't think I can break it anymore than it already is. Hopefully you guys will be able to give me some pointers when things get tricky? I'm documenting my progress here, so feel free to have a…
