Does any body have any experience with Rex Judd? A week ago I put my Dragstar 125 in for a M.O.T. and a service, on booking it in (almost a month before) I told them that the front tyre will need changing, so they said O.K. and told me it would still be done in one day. Six days later I'm still waiting for it, the guy said he had to order me a Dunlop as it matches the back now when I spoke to them today the guy said he could get a Pirelli and have it done for my tomorrow. To be honest I think they have been really sh*t with communication and without me chasing them I'm sure I could still be waiting next week! Has anybody else had similar with them? Who thinks I should…

  2. Hey all. Just dropping in to say G'day to all the gang, and good to read the posts here!. I'v just bought a new 08 xvs custom to run about on. I'v just done the run north on the, east coast of Oz and have to say, It does perform very well!. Its very comfy to ride over long distances, and cruizes very well. all in all, the bike is very nice for the money!. Only thing I dont understand is, why this model didnt come with a fuel guage and tacho, a fuel guage would have been hand for the long trips. the only things I plan to do to it are, change the blinkers for some nice custom little HD blinkers, fit a nice wide, set of western handle bars and like many others o…

Hi all. I'm new to this forum. I have just sold my XJ600 and pick my "proper" bike up on Friday, an XV750SE. I Guess what I'm looking for is for you all to tell me what a great choice I've made and how much pleasure I'm gonna have. It will be my 1st big low rider, I had a 125, I enjoyed it fully but am now ready for the cruiser experience. I got the speed thing out of my system with the XJ but I now want to cruise rather than blast! Any advice welcome. Thanks in anticipation. Jud.

Hello all,I have just bought an XVS 125 insurance salvage bike and need a few things but as I am new to the world of bikes in this country I haven't a clue where to look. I need a front wheel, headlight, front left indicator unit and fuel filler cap. If it is not already obvious (the bike is insurance salvage) I am skint/cheap and would prefer used/non-O.E.M. parts so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also is there a good supplier for custom/aftermarket parts for these, thanks again.

Hello, I just passed my test and after years of oggling the XVS125 from afar, now suspect that its power/weight ratio (not to mention my own power/weight ratio!) may mean it would labour a little more than would be comfortable, so I thought the 250 might be my best bet. ( I want to do my real learning on a smaller bike for a couple of years before getting anything really powerful) That said, they seem to be really thin on the ground. Has anyone got any suggestions beyond Bike Trader and MCN for finding one? Also, does this mean spares are likely to be difficult to get hold of? Thanks for any assistance you can offer, especially as technically I a…

The other day my wife and I set off on a run, we had only gone about 9miles and were steadily purring along at about 80km when all of a sudden the bike just conked out on me, I freewheeled into a layby and stoped, there was a horrible smell of sulphuric acid so I opend the battery box to find that the battery was frying and the sides of it were buckeling I allowed the bike to cool for several minutes then turned the egnition on and everything seemed OK but obviously the battery was'nt up to scratch as the ign and engine management lights were dim but the engine management light went out after about 1sec as it should. I bumpstarted the bike and it ticked over as normal bu…

Hi just waiting to recieve delivery of a new 650 Dragstar silverado, can't wait, just traded in my honda blackbird for it. The test ride was lovely, totally comfortable, pleasantly surprised with the power, was a bit worried after riding a blackbird, but it was great. Also looking for a newish 125 Dragstar for the mrs if anyone knows of one, she's currently got an unrestricted aprillia RS125 (33bhp) 2008 plate with 800 miles on so px an option.

I have had my dragstar for a year and have nearly run over a man who did not hear me coming down the street and the other week got slammed by white van man who did not look in his mirror as i was overtaking him. I have been told that load pipes save lives so have started looking, and what a choice. The thing is i dont want to mess about too much with re-jetting if i can help it and also dont want to fall out with my the people who live next door with excessive load pipes. All i want is that nice deep rumble and maybe a bit more poke - Can any one give me views on whats good/bad? such as any problems with performance "popping" or trouble getting through the MOT et…

Hi, I will be changing my oil & filter this week and just wanted to ask about the removal of the front header pipe. Do you have to remove it because you can’t get to the bolts at the bottom or because you cant get the filter plate or filter out. Has anyone ever changed it without removing the header pipe?

I am about to invest in a new set of Vance and Hines pipes for the Dragstar. Ive narrowed it down to the 2 (the only 2 lol) which are the Short Shots and the Cruzers. Has anyone got any of these on their bike? Or do you know if one is better than the other? I know that V & H pipes arent road legal in the UK, and i was also told that if the Cruszers are too loud you can't quieten them down, but you can with the short shots. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

Took my 1100 custom for it’s MOT today and found out a little bit of info. Now I ride with a slow seat most of the time, if my wife wants to ride with me them I just bolt the other half back on. The guy at my local MOT station said that technically it should fail, why? Because I still had the rear foot pegs fitted, take them off and it’s ok. If the boys in blue want to be funny they can nick you for defective seating, so if like me you don’t use them much just remove them to be on the safe side. Safe riding.

  15. Just bought this bike this week, '05 Virago XV250. Can't get it to idle well (really low & stalls-increasing the idle screw makes it worse?) or quit sputtering when giving it light throttle. I have to leave the choke on for it to idle well. Revs up fine when gunning the throttle off idle. Took apart & cleaned the carb w/ carb spray, but still does it? Has anyone messed w/ the pilot adjustment on the carb on their XV250? Or do you think I need to clean it again, any hints on where to concentrate my efforts? BTW, hi to everyone.

I'm taking my test next friday on my 125, problem is that the speedo is in kph, there is a converter on it so even though it says kph it is really mph. Thing is the test site says that the speedo has to read in mph, would i be o.k?? I've been trying to find a speedo in mph, but they seem to be like rocking horse crap, anyone have one?? I need to sort this by next Friday, cause if i miss this test, then i'll have to take the new one that's coming in Oct!!

Hi all, I've recently bought a 1991 XV535 Virago, not run for over two years. There's a hell of a knock coming from the rear pot and although it idles fine, there's no power in it. It won't go above around 40mph, so I decided to put it in for MOT first to find if it's worth trying to fix it. Although it passed its MOT, the mechanic said I'm as well replacing the entire engine rather than attempting to repair it due to the cost involved. What I want to know is whether an engine off a 1998 will fit directly into my 1991. Were there any changes to the engine in this time? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
