Hey guys, Has any one done an oil change on their XVS 650? if so what oil did you use? it prob tells me in my Haynes Manwell but im at work at the mo so cant really look in it and i wanna nip to Halfrauds on the way home and get some. Cheers for the advice in advance Noise

  2. Hi all As the chain on my newly acquired XVS 125 shows quite a bit of rust I am thinking of having it changed. Having read the original " thread I'm leaning towards changing the sprockets as well (maybe using a DID or AFAM kit?). Do you guys have any opinions/recommendations about the modifications made by Markyboy27? @Markyboy27: still happy with the modifications you made? Thanks in advance.

Just fitted some slash cut pipes to my 2000 reg. xvs 1100a, it runs fine up to about a 1/4 throttle, but if I open it up, it miss fires, back fires, pops and bangs and flames at the exhaust ends when throttling off, If I run it on choke its fine, any ideas, low back pressure perhaps? Its obviously a fuel problem, anyone know of any tricks to cure this, without re-jetting or reverting back to the stock pipes?????

Hi all I've already introduced myself in the relevant forum but, as a new owner of a XVS125, I thought I'd come and say hello in the customs one.

Hi, I'm looking to put my Dragstar back on the road after it's been sat in the garage for the last 4 years. Obviously the battery is now dead, and needs a new 1, but I tried to start it using a battery off another bike, but made the classic mistake of 'assuming' the battery terminals would be the same way around on all batteries, and connected it up the wrong way. I now have no power getting anywhere, no fuel pump, no spark, no lights/indicators/horn..... I've located a fuse box next to the battery, but there are only about 4 fuses in there and none of them are rated high enough to be the main fuse and none are blown anyway, so my 1st question is, where is the main fus…

  9. C:\Users\Little Dear\Pictures\2011-10-30 yoc\yoc 004.JPGok , so all joking aside for a brief time, i got started on taking the rear cylinder off my xvs 125 , i was hoping to find a problem that was screaming out at me but i found nothing apparent, i did however notice that a few bolts and fixings were loose and the odd one or two the wrong size and cross threaded, not really a problem as i have bigger fish to fry (as they say).as i am a novice at this i really hoped to see unusual rough metal or something , i had looked at the oil detail hoping to find swarf or filings of any discription but nothing, good news on one side but that still leaves me looking for the problem. …

Hi guys, I'm looking to replace my pistons, piston rings and likely the cylinders as well, I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the exact specs I'm looking for are? Cant seem to find any info for a Dragstar 125 anywhere, obviously dont want to order the wrong parts. If someone has a link to somewhere that sells these things or just the spec I need to search for to get a result come up it would be much appreciated. Any heads up on cost would also be appreciated Cheers

Now then, First post, got some questions about the Dragstar, I have ordered one and its 12K milage, 1 owner, 2005. I just wanted to get the opinions and thoughts on this bike and weather there is any problems related to this model. Its a 125cc, and better than the Huoniao I had before, ("Whats a friggin Huoniao", Yes I can hear you.) So I'm happy either way. First of all, direct questions, I've been looking up and found some hard to believe answers from various places, on high milage for a 125. What would you consider High milage for this model? I've been told 12K is low, I think its toward moderate. Secondly, are the exhausts all one unit, or are …

  14. odd question i know, never noticed with stock pipes but my vance and hines ones i really do, not sure if its been too fast the entire time or if not rejetting has caused it... or if im paraniod and its normal, which would be anoying..... i know there supposed to idle quite quick. but mine sounds stupid, it goes at about 23mph in 5th at idle anyway, does anyone know of a video on the tube of a bike with similar aftermarket pipes with it idleing at what sounds like the right speed, i dont mind setting it by ear im tempted to just get a rev counter for it cheers

  15. Hi Got a 2006 Classic and got a couple of questions. Is it possible to remove the floorboards and put the custom pegs on the front? I keep scraping them and the thought of touching down is slowing my cornering down. Also has anyone done the 3-4 hole mod to the exhausts i.e. drilling them to incease the noise? I would like noisier pipes but after buying the bike have little money. Also would like to increase the bhp just a little to shift my bulk along - what are the options and i am confussed now reading about back pressure? In the past fitting an aftermarket can to all my sporty bikes and removing the baffle incresed the bhp? Cheers in advance guys

I'm thinking about buying a used 2010 bike but need to know how to identify the model year easily as there seem to be quite a few 2009-2011 unregistered bikes out there. Any pointers you can give me would be useful e.g. which colours belong to each year or even better is there a year stamp anywhere (although this would be way to easy). Thanks

Just got my bike back from MOT and there are 2 advisory items on the certificate: Handlebar mounting slightly deteriorated Steering movement slightly 'notchy' I feel a bit silly being clueless about this but what does it actually mean? Presumably I don't have to do anything about either of these urgently but it would be good to know what it is all about. Thanks in advance.
