Hi! Purchased an XS250 last week. Its in good condition only it has no electrical functioning at all! Fitted new fuses, battery, checked connections as best I can to my knowledge, cleaned inside of ignition switch, checked bulbs, found two earth leads and they were connected well!. Am well stuck as electrics are not a strong point with me. Can anybody help at all? Jason

The XS400D I picked up last weekend is missing the airfilter boxes and the boots to link them to the carbs. I have Mikuni BS34's on there and wanted to know if I can just add the "POD" filters that I see for sale everywhere - and if so, do I still need to find a set of boots to link them to the carbs and can I still get the side panels on. Also - Are the Mikuni BS34's - the same BS34's that I see used on much newer bikes? I find it odd that they are on the 77 xs400 - and same BS34's seem to be on the 80-84 XS650's. Can I swap them out for a set of BS38's which were used on the 76 - 79 XS650's? I am sooo stoked to get this bike up and back on the road again. …

Recently bought a project bike without papers on Ebay and got it home last night. It's mainly a bike to tinker on and learn more in-depth repairs so I don't jepordize my daily ride ( 77 XS650D ). Anyway, the owner had no real details other that in being a 77 400. There are no side panels and the ID #'s state it was manufactured in 1/77 and other than that it gives no size or model #. I believe it's an XS400D - but figured you guys can help me verify. The VIN # starts with 2A2 - which I've seen ID'd on some European pages as a 78 - but might be different seeing as this is an American bike. Click the link ( I hope ) to see a pic - just looking to verify the year, mo…

Hi, im back on bikes afetr a few years and purchased a 1992 FJ1200ABS. It has 30k miles on it (checked out history and independant shop checked out mechanically) and is more or less pristine, looks and engine wise. Found the standard seat uncomfortable, so getting a corbin. After that, all my previous bikes had 4 into 1's and were setup for sports riding if i wanted to do it. I know the FJ is thought of as a tourer but from what i read its origins were as a sports bike, so i'd like to develop that theme, into changing looks a little but more finding options for swingarm, wheel exchanges, brake upgrades, 4 into 1 options, better oil cooler, form/spring options, …
