Got the bike on the road last night after a week of changing parts painting ect. I didnt know what to expect tbh but god its so fun haha its definitely not under powered which I was worried about. Will sit at 55 happily. Took it up the woods for a little bit and performs so well, its abit weird getting used to the tyres which to me look like they are just off road but arnt that bad on the road if im honest. Have had abit of a wobble a couple times around tight bends but all good fun. I also like the £6.81 to fill the tank up. Which Is alot less then my car (£86 high octane about 200miles a tank) Really pleased with it glad to be back on a bike.

The motor's really loosening up now....much smoother and more responsive. This week I'll get the oil and filter changed as it's now around 2800 miles. The Metzeler Tourances are scrubbed in....I can highly recommend them. All cleaned and polished (Predator system has really come up well)....and ready to rumble! 8) Here's a few shots I took today in the Elan Valley! Good nick you reckon? 8)

Hi Everyone, Just wondered if anyone could help as I'm no expert.I have a dt125r which I have out of the bike.It runs sweet until I select a gear, everytime I select a gear it dies. I have kicked it, left in gear and everything moves freely but will not run.Put into neutral up she fires and sweet as a nut. I'm no mechanic so would appreciate any feedback. Thanks ,J.

Hi, I have a Lanza DT 230 which I think is a 1996 from Japan. I can't find much info about it online and I am having problems with my plugs staying clean more than a few days and there is quite a bit of smoke. Someone recommended disconnecting the oil reserve and mixing it myself in the tank. I don't really want to do that. Can I adjust something or is it just the life of a 2 stroke? Thanks

Hi, I am having problems with the exhaust on my 2007 DT125RE. after purchasing the bike about a month ago and running in the new piston I realised that the rubber connecting the exhaust pipe to the muffler had burst and there was an hole. I replaced and thought nothing of it, prob. had been ready for new or something. but now after another week of riding it has blown open again in the same place. and I do not "thrash" the bike any help and advice would be appreciated thanks Jake

Hi there, my 1999 DTR 125 has just developed a problem and I'm hoping you can help, When riding it'll get to 6k revs where the power valve kicks in and it just slowly struggles all the way up till about 8 and half k and won't rev anymore, but this isn't all the time, I can ride to work and the bike will be fine, the power kicks in and revving out to past 10k before changing gear, but then on the way home no power! My mate thought it was the plug breaking down so I fitted a new one and it's still the same. I just installed some LED indicators but they don't flash. If I pull out the idiot bulb then they flash but the LED's stay on in-between flashes, they're just dim. I am using the flasher relay that was included with the set that I bought. How can I get them to flash with the idiot bulb installed aswell? Cheers

Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone can help me. Basically I have a 1992 Yamaha dt 125 and it was stolen in April I just got the bike back yesterday but the thieves have ground off the vin and engine numbers and stripped all the lights is there anyway I can actually legally get my bike back on the road and get it through the mot I still have the v5 in my name. Sorry for the long post haha

Finally had enough of the appalling headlight on the xt125, i firstly considered getting a more powerful bulb but after seeing the hassle Grouch and j0hn had with them i thought it wasn't worth bothering with so just accepted i would have to put up with not being able to see very much of the unlit streets and just go slower to be safe. After a long time of this i again decided something must be done. Firstly i considered an after market enduro type universal front fairing with integrated headlights but who way to say these would be any brighter, and you just know they are going to be a bitch to fit and mount securely- so thought id give that a miss. Hey guys, So I'm trying to make my old mx 100 street legal. So far I've made it so it can get up to speed by installing boyesen power reeds and a performance filter. I do need to get a larger jet for it soon as it is running to lean so it's parked for now. I've been looking to get and install a speedometer and a tachometer, but I do not know how to install those. Please help.

Hey guys So cleaning my bike is really what i Dred doing and while i love seeing a epically clean bike im a very lazy guy. Anyways my bike seems to have an unlimited supply of gunk around the problem areas ( around the carbs and chains etc. ) I was wondering what you guys use or if you know any tricks? I used a Petrol based engine degreaser and got most of it off but still it is not as shiny as i want it to be.... I also used a Chemical based cleaner which got alot off but still im lacking that shine that i want ( talking metals here as plastics are faded from the sun and this weekend i am restoring them with abit of effort, sand paper ( 3 different types…

I recently did a top end rebuild on the bike but I'm not very happy with how it's running since the new top end, it's worse than before the rebuild. I'm not sure if my power valve is set up correctly, how can I check this and get it set up perfectly? Ways the bike is different since new top end: It doesn't start as well. When you first start it you have to keep the revs above 3k for the first 30 seconds or so otherwise it will die straight away. There's not as much top end power, not sure if power valve issue or if the bike needs to be re-jetted. Is it common for 2t's to need jetting adjustments after top end rebuild? hi all im new to this forum i have a problem with my 56reg dt125re i can only put it into 6th gear at 65mph+ if i try putting it in 6th gear at 60mph it bogs down and starts to slow, and even if i have it in 6th gear and i have to slow down for cars ahead it wont build back up i have to drop down and do the hole procedure again is thier any 1 else with this problem or had it before, if so what was the result of the problem and how was it fixed cheers dazz

I have 2 1974 DT 360's. The clutch won't engage on one of them I am restoring. The lever on the engine bottom moves freely - almost too easily, like it is not engaging the push rod. I have the clutch cover off and see no movement when the lever is pulled forward. Any ideas?

Hi im new to this forum, just picked my first bike up the other day. Doing my cbt this week so will be riding by the weekend . Anyway i have a 2001 dtr and could do with advice. i have never ridden before and know nothing about the bike so any tips on it would be helpful. I notice when i turn the bike on and start it the exhaust has white smoke coming out. i havent had a chance to ride it yet so unsure if it just needs a good ride or its running rich. it did only pass its MOT on saturday but i know this doesnt mean it is fine. Hello, Just wondering what options I have for engine replacement or repair for my 99 TDM 850? As you can see from the photos attached, there is a crack in the engine.. It appears that it's only in the bottom block. I'm finding it hard to source a replacement engine. I'd much rather just bolt out, bolt in if possible, however it isn't looking likely. Is the TRX850 the same engine and interchangeable with the TDM850? If not, what are my options? I bought this bike as a project with the intent to rebuild. I haven't had it started at this stage. After attempting to start it, the starter relay clicks, however the starter doesn't engage or turn over. …

Here's a shot taken today on the Eppynt Mountain range between Brecon and Builth. The idyllic setting in the background is a bit misleading though....cos the rest of the region is an MOD Weapons Testing Area. So I had to be a bit careful where I took photos in case I got arrested for spying!
