i have recently bought an 07 yamaha dtr 125 sm.it came with the standard exhaust and dep end can but bought a dep exhaust and had it fitted,whilst at the garage they looked at the powervalve and said it was set up correctly.there is a wire that looks like it comes from the speedo and is earthed to the battery (i cannot remember the colour without looking)regardless of all this the bike will not do more than 65 mph,why is this

Hi after a 30 year break I got another bike ,it's a yamaha tdr 125 ,2007 model it all seems ok but not been far yet! Does anyone know much about them they don't seem very popular,I think it must be an import as the stickers on it are in foreign lingo , is it ment to be governed as I don't think it is it revs very hard right into the red if I let it . Any comments of imformation on this bike would be appreciated .regards bob

Have noticed that the steering lock has been removed from my 2003 dtr the recess it fits into is still there but the lock is missing so u can see into the steering stem.are these available to buy separatley and are they easy to fit or does anyone know what I could use too plug hole up with.wont ever use it as have alarmed disc lock front and rear and two big chains.

Hey everyone, I haven't posted in awhile! I had a couple of questions about my 1979 DT 125. There are rumors that I can add a 175 head and pistons to a 125 to make the cc go up. Is this a possible thing to do? - Change cylinder head from a 125 to a 175? What does this take to do and will it kill the bike overall? Anything helps!! Cheers!

Hi everyone, I went for a little ride the the day and was stopping at a set of lights at a junction when suddenly the back tyre just locked up when I was shifting down. I didn't shift down too quickly as it was probably about 10mph coming from second to first and I barely touched my back brake. Anyway being a new rider I stalled it and upon trying to kick it back up it wouldn't start and sounded very strange. Eventually I got it going but the noise coming from the bike was horrific, but I needed to get it back home so I rode on it and about half way the noise stopped. I'm looking to change my chain and sprockets soon but am in two minds as to change the amount of teeth on my sprockets or not.. The top end of my bike is roughly 85/90mph depending how hard i push it i mainly use my bike around town and on the back lanes just for comuting and some summer fun really.. i wouldn't mind slightly better acceleration, but i am getting mixed answerrs from my friends. Some say smaller sprrocket on the front will increase accel but drop top end a little. And otthers say increease the teeth on the rear which will have thee same affect? i am looking for a definative add or remove x amount of teeth on front/rear sprocket to get this outc…

Hi guys, new to this forum & fairly new to biking, I've had my XT125 on the road for about a month now & I'm finding that the headlight, even on full beam, is very poor at lighting much of the road, I was just wondering if this is common on the xt125 & if anyone can reccomend a way to brighten the light, I'm not sure if I can put a halogen bulb straight in?

I need to replace the main bearings and have been told that I need to fit C3 clearance bearings. But the bearings in it are not marked C3. Does anybody know if the bearings need to be C3 rated? I,ve had the engine for years and expect that these bearings are the originals.

Hey guys So cleaning my bike is really what i Dred doing and while i love seeing a epically clean bike im a very lazy guy. Anyways my bike seems to have an unlimited supply of gunk around the problem areas ( around the carbs and chains etc. ) I was wondering what you guys use or if you know any tricks? I used a Petrol based engine degreaser and got most of it off but still it is not as shiny as i want it to be.... I also used a Chemical based cleaner which got alot off but still im lacking that shine that i want ( talking metals here as plastics are faded from the sun and this weekend i am restoring them with abit of effort, sand paper ( 3 different types…

Hi all, I have just purchased a 2006 Yamaha DT125RE. Its in good condition but the hazard light switch on the left hand side of the bike doesn't work properly and causes the indicators to stop flashing immediately when you switch the hazard button. The indicators do work but I'm sure that the relay is crook. Help?

Finally had enough of the appalling headlight on the xt125, i firstly considered getting a more powerful bulb but after seeing the hassle Grouch and j0hn had with them i thought it wasn't worth bothering with so just accepted i would have to put up with not being able to see very much of the unlit streets and just go slower to be safe. After a long time of this i again decided something must be done. Firstly i considered an after market enduro type universal front fairing with integrated headlights but who way to say these would be any brighter, and you just know they are going to be a bitch to fit and mount securely- so thought id give that a miss. Hi, My sons dt has started having problems starting .new plug fitted ,not the best spark I've seen but should be enough. I've stripped the carb and cleaned the pilot and main jets .shes firing on the starter but won't catch and pick up . If I keep her spinning long enough with the throttle open she will catch and run. As soon as you let the revs die she cuts out . Any ideas as I'm running out of obvious ones before I think about big uns like crank seals

I recently bought my DT125RE 2004 over a week ago, I paid £825.00 for the bike, taxed and tested, the lad who I bought it off had not looked after the bike and had no clue what so ever as you can see by the rear light wiring lol, although from the first picture, it looks in good order however, thers alot of work which needs doing, I could of just ridden it how it was but I like a good looking bike tbh. Hey everyone, time has come to sell my bike, It's sat in the shed not doing alot and it could be someone elses pride and joy who will be able to give it some tlc and actually ride it. Anyway in it's current condition can anyone tell me how much I could sell it for?
