I don't have an owner's manual and hate to start yanking, but how does the driver's seat come off a 2007 V Star Custom? I asked at the Service Department and they didn't know!!!

Hey, Finally got all the problems ironed out and have just lost all faith in this bike. What would you say is a fair price for it? Yamaha TZR50, 53 plate in blue. Fitted with a Polini 80cc Big Bore kit with Race Reeds to match, a full Arrow Race exhaust, After market air filter, Meta alarm system and immobiliser, Data tag(Between the alarm and the datatag it saved me £80-90 on insurance),tyres have plenty of tread in them. Had a top end rebuild 80 miles ago including replacement of the piston and top end gasket(I have the reciepts with a date to prove work). i have a 1982 virago 750. and well when i bought it. it had aftermarket pipes and such. well i re-jeted the carbs for the pipes(last owners didn't). well even before the jet work it idled on one cyclinder(rear). well now that i jeted it it runs like poop and well since me and carb don't mix too well anymore i'm at a loss what to do. i check compression and the non-idling cyclinder has more compression the the one that does work. i checked for a valve being too tight. the intke valve was a tad too tight but not by much. if i mess with the syncronizing screw the front cyclinder starts to work a little but then the rear starts to die out. the after a few seconds the bike st…

Looking for any advise on what to get next my 98 thundercat is starting to show its age a little and starting to have the dreaded 2nd gear problem cant decide to replace or repair it at 36k not sure its worth it but then what cld i replace it with i do an 80 mile round trip commute thru the lake district every day in all weathers and being a way past 21 the sports bike position plays havoc with me bones so the R6 is out ive been lookin at the fzs fazer 600 anyone got any advise cheers

Hi, Can anyone help...I've been offered a FZR 750 1988 for about £1500 (the exhaust is not original) and was wondering what they are like as bikes? I'm looking for a modern classic, but there doesn't seem to be many about, and most sites point you towards a gsxr 750 early model. Can you let me know whether they are particularly reliable, perform well and what I should look out for? Appreciate all your help andy

Hi all. Newby here from Kiwi land. I have an 85 RD350 F which I find upon inspection, has both expander rings broken into 3 or 4 bits. The bits were still intact in the lower scraper ring grooves (thank goodness) but I have to ask, are they needed? The piston and rings are sweet, so I don't need to replace, and I don't want to have to order 2 complete ring sets, just to get 2 x expander rings. I'm thinking I can leave them out. Any thoughts?

does anyone know if a cdi box from an 83 venture will work on an 85? have a chance to buy one to get my 85 running but dont want to get it if its not going to work.

I have to say I am a complete fool, this is my fist bike and I come off on my second time out I have managed to put a huge dent in the fuel tank on the left hand side even tho I went down on the right (I dont know how and I am sure it was not there, unless I had a real bad day and someone hit it during the night?) Apart from going to a dealer anyone know where I could get a new one? There are minor scratches to the mirror, front fender, front light and housing for the speedo/fuel/rev counter and bar end, any where I can also get these?? Any help and suggestions greatly received. I just repleced the plunger and seals in the clutch mastercylinder and the slave cylinder , well when i tried to bleed it im not getting any pressure , do u have to bench bleed it first or something im clueless

I have been reading that you can modify the sub frame of the 1997 thunderace to a 2004 tail. Is this true or can i just swap it for 2001 or something. If anyone has any pictures let me know where to find them so I can get a feel for how the bike might look.

I have a 2005 r6 and im wanting to put a short can on it but there aint many out there i quite like the look of the HR1 riot cans but i ve been told they are not road legal in the UK has any one fitted a short can they wud recommened?

85 venture has no spark on front cylinders at idle. rev to 2000rpm and spark is good.also tach drops to 0 when it happens. new plugs, plug caps,wires. checked tci for moisture. bike has been sitting for three years.any help would be appreciated.

hello to all, just bought a fzr 600 a 91 model , the only problem is both fork tubes are rusty as hell done a search at breakers with no luck. can anyone give a list of any other forks that are identical [minus the pitting] i just want to slide the old out and in with the new

Hi guys, Im thinking about changing the current set up on the rear of my bike as the previous owner fitted a cheapy tail tidy, and led rear light with integral indicators. These indicators are poop in daylight, so i was just wondering if any of you guys have pics/recommendations of tail tidy's/indicators that i should think about..shall i run standard indicators with a tail tidy, or go for some smalller ones?..I also have a query regarding the rear light-if i revert back to normal indicators, shall i just disconnect the led ones, or change the rear light back to the standard one? cheers, Paul.

Today i was at the petrol station and saw a R6 with what appeared to be a red bull can around this part of the bike..... can anyone tell me what this part actually does and why the guy had it done? it looked a bit odd, just wondering if it was safe to do it?

hi just up from a DTX125 to a fz6 got a very good deal on it just waiting for my restrictor kit to be fitted so i can take it home and remove it right first question; how different is this engine from a R6, am i right in thinking its just CAMs and the ECU?? also best place to buy a nice sounding exhaust, tail tidy ( to start with ) i'll post up some picks when i bring it home cheers
