I've got clubman bars and a round headlight conversion coming, but i'd like to find a BIGGER gas tank that would fit the radian frame mounts... does anyone know of one that will work? also, is there are cafe rear pod for another yamaha that will mount on the radian frame? thanks guys... sure wish i could find the magic 'search' wording to find this stuff on the web... all i find are stuffs for the old 2 cylinder 500s.

Can someone recommend a good tyre for my fz6, its due a change soon but so many to choose from, not sure what to go for? something with more grip than mileage.. any pointers? cheers

Hi guys, I know there is a recent thread about tyre choice, but i didnt want to butt in on that one... I bought my r46 fitted with a pair of Michelin Pilot Power 2 cts front and rear. The previous owner of the bike ( a good mate) swore by them. Im due for a new rear tyre and the front has plenty of life left in it. My question is how much should i be looking to pay for a rear including fitting, and should i replace both front and rear at the same time? The front still has loads of life left in it...Im intending to do some track days this summer, so i think i will go for the 2cts again. A good choice? Also one final thing, does anyone else have rattly front bra…

Hi everyone.. I have got the Bike bug again after over 17 years away from it after passing my car test and want to get back into it. All i had before was small bikes (H**da CB's and the odd S****ki GP and GT's) and this xj will be my first Yamaha and my first big ( ish ) bike i have found a couple of XJ's on the 'bay of 'E' for around £300 and there is one for sale in my town for £800.. all im after really is some advice as to what to look for on these machines, Have they any weaknesses that should be checked out? Are the Engines robust and not chuck a leg out of bed the moment you give it some welly? Any info would be appriciated.. many thanks Daz.

I',ve recently bought a 2004 DT125R Field Bike.I've Done A Full Strip Down And Rebuild But when I Stripped it i found that there were only a few wires left from the original harness,just enough to make it run.I want to put the bike back on the road but don't know which harness i need.There is a 3RM harness and a Later model to which i don't know the number.When I Enquired on ebay about if a 3RM harness would fit i was told to look at the numbers on my cdi unit.Upon Inspection i found the cdi had 4DL on it,so the bloke said the harness will not fit.So I then search for a 4DL harness and find out That 4DL refers to a TZR125 and not DTR125R. Can Anyone out there pleas…

hi, just had to have my sprocket welded on nice ! so now looking for a new engine. i have a 95 fzr600r 4jh i wanted to know could any engine fzr600 engine go in or does it have to be the 4jh. could any one tell me what makes the 600r different.probably sound like a idiot bot not a total muppet. thanks dave

Hi All, I just got a YBR 125 and love it. It seemed huge when I first got it and every time I get on it it seems a little smaller The bike is only 3 years and 3000 miles old but it has quite a bit of rust on it. The rust is mostly on the frame, the exhaust mountings, the centre stand and the silver arms at the side with the rear pegs on them. What can I do to sort this? Should I grease up the patches or wire bush all of the rust bubbles and flakes and then paint it? I don't have a garage. Is having the bike outside under a "water resistant" bike cover going to make it rust considerably more?

I need some real talent here fellas. It has nothing to do with the gas. I have drained my carb bowls, checked the petcock.......I have taken the carbs off and put them back on. I AM GETTING PISSED!!!!!!!!!! Once again, the bike will start and run when resting on its kickstand. Then once you tip the bike up, when about level the bike dies. I am at a complete and total loss. Is there something in the engine maybe, like a screen for the oil. Something clogging when the engine is tilted? I don't think it is a water issue now, considerin I washed the bike about two-three weeks ago. PLEASE HELP ME, or I am going to set some dynamite onto this f*cking bike!!!!

i recently got my yzf, my first bike in seven years. anyways when it gets warmed up or hot in that 80c and up range it wants to idle at around 4k. if i'm riding it i can idle it down by applying the brake and puting a load on the motor. i have been told vacume leak, i cant seem to find one yet anyways. i did find one thing odd, when i took the tank off the 2 breather hoses off the float side of the carb were just laying there under the tank. one has a barbd fiting in it. the service manual shows the 2 of them going together into some sort of union, but does not show the union.

I've not been around on the forum for a while due to loosing my job last year and then starting a new business which has changed the way I live my life. One of the major changes is that I don't use my bike to travel to work everyday anymore. I've been so busy that I only manage to get out on my R6 once every week and sometimes only every fortnight! I'm working at changing this, but in having the bike sitting for a week at a time I've noticed a problem. The R6 has become very difficult to start after it has sat for a week. I have a 1979 1100 XS My problem is (No Spark). I replaced with new the following parts so far and still No spark. Ignition Key Switch Coils. Complete wiring Harness. Been thinking about replacing the ignition unit (Black Box )thats located under the seat mounted on the frame. But,was told that the ignition unit hardly ever goes bad.Was told that the cycle shop can sell me one .The cycle shop said (but why should I sell you something you don't need). Hi all. I was riding to work yesterday morning, and all of a sudden, the display went blank, and the rev counter stuck at 5000 rpm! Am about to pop to my local Yamaha dealer to ask them to take a look and find out what's gone wrong. Have checked the fuses in the fuse box, and can't see anything obvious with the wiring - just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem? All other electrics work okay - headlight, sidelights, indicators etc - just nothing on the instrument panel, so I don't know when I'm in neutral, or if I've got high beam on, or if the indicators are running.
